Is this worth the money you spend?

I don’t think it’s worth it. I had been using birch box for about two years and just cancelled last month. They have FANTASTIC customer service, but my samples were not specific to me and often I couldn’t use them (I.e- foundation sample three shades too dark) so I ended up
Giving most of my box away. The quality has gone down over the years. I’d try a different subscription service.

I love my ipsy and my fitfabfun box. Haven’t tried this one yet. Is it worth it?

This is worth it if you like to try new brands and use their point system. Basically you pay $10 a month and if you review your samples you can earn up to $5 back to spend in their store. When I had it I thought about that as a savings account so to speak. So spend $120 a year and have $60 at the end to buy something nice on top of the samples.

However, many samples were not my color, or work for me (I have dry skin and would get oily skin products, etc). So again it’s a matter of preference. I cancelled after 2 years.

I now have boxycharm which is $21 a month but 1000 times better. All full size. Last month we got a full size dr. Brandt pores no more ($79) plus 4 other full size products just as an example. April’s box is going to have an Ofra highlighter valued at $30 plus 4 other products. Just as an example of the value. That’s my personal recommendation.

Ipsy is if you like drugstore or lesser known brands. It was my least favorite of the 3 I mentioned.

They haven’t had the points system for many months.

Thats terrible. I haven’t had birchbox in about a year but that was really the only thing that I would say it had going for it! That makes me sad. I bet they lost a good deal of customers.

Thanks so much for the helpful review Michelle!

Just a little FYI…I signed up for Birchbox years ago and decided to cancel and try Sephora Play box in November. My samples in my Sephora box are bigger and more diverse. I felt like the Birchbox samples were very repetitive and small. Also, Sephora rewards you with a 50 bonus point with Ang purchase coupon and a bag each month. The bags are just cute little bags, but they’re still fun.

I had Birchbox for over 6 years and liked it until the last two. The sample sizes got so small, it wasn’t even funny, they took away the points system last year, so it’s not even worth it anymore. Plus I was getting hair care samples for thin/fine hair, and I have thick/curly hair. I canceled after 6 years, even though I still had another year’s gift subscription, I gave it away as a Christmas present. Ipsy is worth it for only $10, you get full size products in every bag. They value is consistently over $30, if not $50. Boxycharm is only $21; but you get 5 full size products in every box, sometimes deluxe; but not often. And the value is normally over $100, it’s a fantastic deal.
