I love this detergent. I usually buy Tide, but I think Persil is better. My clothes come out much brighter and cleaner than they did with Tide. It does have a stronger fragrance so if you’re not into scents, it might not work for you (at least the original kind). I’ve never tried the sensitive skin.

I absolutely love it! Smells great and cleans very well!

Persil is relatively new in the U.S. but having lived 20+ years in Europe, I grew up with this product -I swear by Persil and am glad that they finally made it available here in the U.S. The smell is nice and lasts long, clothing gets clean, cleaner than tide, IMHO.

Persil is the best out there. Persil has been around my whole life also as I grew up in another country. This detergent was always the most expensive one as it is known as the best. I love the smell and gets things very clean. Highly recommend this one for sure!

I used Persil for the first time last weekend because I found a bottle on clearance at Target. It is fantastic, smells better than Tide and removed a bunch of stains from towels that have been around for a few washes. I will definitely look for it now. ShopRite actually has it on sale this week for 1.99 or 2.99.

How cool! Thanks for the great feedback Daniela! Awesome to hear how well it worked on your towels!

Now that I don’t get P&G inserts anymore I will definitely buy this Persil over Tide.

Good to know how great it smells Jill! Thanks for sharing!

I love Persil! After claiming a sample online a while back I can’t use anything else. I have tried going back to the less expensive brands but the cleanliness and brightness of the clothes is just not the same as with Persil. Thanks for the heads up on the coupon, I need to restock! 👍

You’re welcome Erika! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

I hate to admit it. But persil does a good job. I wish they did not use dyes and perfumes in the detergent. I also wish it was not so expensive. I like the price of the bargain stuff. Which I have a ton of because I bought on super sale but with 5 kids ages 9 and under we should go through the stock quickly and I will be buying this kind instead.

I don’t think they do in Persil Free and Clear.

      • Melanie

They do! It is white. I found it at Target.

It is the BEST! It’s worth the money!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Glad to hear it!

Well P&G I can say you have a fair competitor in the U.S. So , that you know in Europe Persil is the top (Number 1) detergent NOT TIDE! I can see this happening here too, especially now that P&G is creating all these troubles with their coupons.

OK I have never seen that website before. But Tide gets an F and Seventh Generation only gets a C. So is there a way to search which ones get an A? Or do none of them?

I just searched EWG laundry -https://www.ewg.org/guides/categories/9-Laundry

I like to use Persil for my husband’s work clothes. I think if your husband does flooring, this is perfect😬 it’s strong on stains, but for me and kids clothes, the smell is pretty strong. Even washing husbands clothes I sneeze all the time, just a bit Persil smell and it’s never-ending sneezing 😄

Bought this recently as it was super cheap. I like it better than Tide or Gain. Smells wonderful and seemed to make my clothes softer than the other two. It is also cheaper than Tide and Gain.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback Lore!

I have sensitive skin and my husband hates the unscented detergents. Not many brands have sensitive detergent with a scent. Persil is the 3rd brand with a sensitive detergent with a scent that I’m aware of and its the only one that I don’t need to add OxiClean to every single load because it isn’t needed! By far the best detergent.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Good to know! Thanks for sharing Moria!

I personally think Persil does and awesome job of getting most stains out. I usually don’t stick with one brand but this one I have to have in my household.

  12. Jeanette

I used to use Tide ONLY. Then tried making my own detergent (borax, washing soda, grated soap) It worked just as well as the Tide. THEN, I tried a sample of Persil. EVEN BETTER!!! I save it for my husband’s worst clothes. . .thanks for the deals!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re welcome Jeanette! Thanks for the helpful review!

Persil is all I use now. My washer is an HE model and will only take a fairly small amount of laundry detergent. My hubby’s filthy work clothes come out surprisingly clean every time!
