Parents must remain on premises. Meh. It’s going to a be long 2 hours each time!
Yeah, I saw that too… No thanks!
They are craft sessions, NOT free babysitting. You should be ashamed of yourself!
Does it actually take 2 hrs? Have people done this before? Opinions?
That’s what I’m wondering–does it actually take 2hrs, or just 2 hrs total w blocks of time (i.e. 30 min) that you sign up for? The website doesn’t specify and just says sign up in store. Hmm.
I did it three times last year. My youngest was under 3 so I didn’t pay for her but in 2 out of 3 times she was allowed to fully participate, which was nice. The woman that normally ran it was so sweet and I had a friend with kids with me, so it was a bit of a social hour (we used 1 to 1.5 hours max). This year, I have to pay for two kids and I don’t think the craft is worth it based on the many other summer offerings like cheap movies and library programs. I would rather take the money and host a craft day of my own. But it was fun, especially if you have someone good running it. The person running it is just following instructions and never had done the craft before during our visits, but our normal woman was a pro at figuring it all out and improvising when needed. She still remembers us when we shop at Michaels. I feel like she made the experience much better than it might have been, so I guess it is YMMV.
I have done this before and it didn’t take the whole two hours but the sessions cost $2 instead of $5. However, this summer appears to be a Disney theme…. maybe its different. Looks like you will do two different crafts instead of one.
Can parents help or do the kids go in by themselves?
I don’t know if you can help your kid make their craft, but it’s nice to see one actively involved parent here. I feel like most parents are always looking for a place to dump their kids.
Just as a suggestion, I saw many cheap craft kits in ac Moore and they have 50% coupons all the time… I’ve bought quite a few to do tmwith my kiddo and have tons of cheap paint from dollar tree so he can paint it as well.
We did this last summer. The parents must stay in the area as it is not babysitting. They need to help their child if needed. It does not take the entire 2 hrs. Some crafts are worth it. Others are not. I believe on the website they show you each day what the craft will be.
