Just read a cute story involving this book. One father got this book for his daughter and had each one of her teachers write a special message it in since 1st grade, then he surprised her with it when she graduated high school.

    • Alexa

Oops should of read the whole post first as that was in there already hehe

  12. riss

I gave this to our son when we dropped him off to college last fall, signed with messages by his brother, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents and us. He was really happy and appreciative when I gave it to him while helping him unload his stuff at the dorm.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How sweet! Thanks for sharing Riss!

    • Heather C

That IS super sweet & a great idea. Thanks!

  13. Heather C

Thank you…I got 4. I gave birth to surrogate boys 18 years ago and I just inscribed one of these for each of them and gave them on Saturday at their graduation party. I told them they had to keep the books because I was going to add to the inscriptions for each major “milestone” they have. Graduating from college, getting married, buying a home, etc.

    • Angela (Super Saver Sidekick)

      Aww I love that!

  14. Rose

Oh, I started this since my kids started preschool. The teachers love it and mentioned how they will start a book for their kids. Luckily I purchased extra last year and ended up giving this book as a teacher appreciation gift, which they love.

  15. Ashley

It’s showing up 12.99 for me.

    • Angela (Super Saver Sidekick)

Hi there Ashley! It looks like Walmart has raised the price but Amazon still has it for $5. Hope that helps!

  16. Amy

Thank you so much!! My 4th grader has this and I’ve had all the teachers sign. My daughter is getting ready to finish Kindergarten and everytime I think about getting it the stores are sold out or it’s super inflated! It will be here in time for the last week of school

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Happy to hear that Amy! YW!

  17. jane

    $12.99 @ Walmart.com
How do you get it for $5?

    • Angela (Super Saver Sidekick)

Hi there Jane! Walmart appears to have raised their price but you can still score it for $5 from Amazon!

  18. Jes

We do this for our kiddos with the Dr. Seuss birthday book. Every year at their birthday party family and friends sign a designated section of book.

  19. Cathy

I did this for my now 5th grader since Kindergarten. I can’t wait to give it to her on her last day of school this Thursday. Thought is was easier to do elementary teachers and then she will have it for any middle school teachers or high school teachers she chooses to have sign it. Some of the sentiments from her past teachers are beautiful, it’s really a nice keepsake

    • Dana Wessel Edwards

Thanks for the idea, I was wondering how I’m going to pull it off when my daughter reaches middle school, but then I still have 5 more years to worry about it 🙂

  20. Amanda

Just an FYI, I just ordered this a little over a week ago at $11.38 and contacted customer service to see if there was any type of price adjustment policy. They were very helpful! I can return the one I just ordered for a full refund and purchase at the $5 price today.

    • Angela (Super Saver Sidekick)

That’s a great tip Amanda, thank you for sharing! I ordered two and placed the orders separately and did slow shipping so I am getting back $2 in digital credits. I LOVE Amazon! ❤️

    • kylee

Does Amazon prime ALWAYS provide free return shipping? Thanks

  21. Sharonl

Super cool! I just ordered 4 and it took $10 off at checkout, saying it was a Citi promo??? Our account is linked to our Citibank credit card. Has anyone else experienced this too? I was looking into this book last month & was going to buy it for $12 each for my two toddlers. Now, I was able to get 4!!! So excited!!!

    • Sharonl

      Thank you, Hip2Save!!!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh wow! What a cool discount! You’re so welcome!

  22. gilly

So some of you have like 12 of the same book?

    • Heather

I believe they have the teachers sign the same book.

  23. Erica

I have a daughter about to start kindergarten. I see the teacher signing thing mentioned a lot online. I am wondering if the teachers dread getting these books to fill out for so many kids every year. Any insight on this? TIA.

    • Rita

      Yes, they dread it!

    • Evan

My son is in 10th grade & we started it in 6th. I live in the Houston area & have teachers both male & female that not only compliment it, they make a point to meet me so they can sign it. No issues so far. Our HS has over 1800 students & zero seniors this yr bc it’s brand new! I’ll Ck next year & hope for the best.

  24. Karen

If you have an Ollie’s near you, these books are just $2.99 there.

    • Joy

      ☺Thanks for the Ollie’s tip

  25. dealhousewife

I’ve been waiting for a good deal before school was out!! 😀 YAY!! my daughter is in kindergarten and i wanted to get this to have her teachers sign each year, until graduation. i also nabbed another one for my younger daughter, not yet in school. 🙂

  26. Rita

Seriously, people! The last thing teachers want to do is have a stack of these books to sign for students! There are staff meetings, assessments, teacher evaluation meetings, report cards, end of the year pictures and memory books and cleaning up a classroom. Then you add on a stack of these books that parents want secretly returned ASAP? No thank you! And what exactly is someone going to do with this when they graduate, move away and get a job? Display it on a shelf? Doubtful!

    • Kristin

I sure hope you are not a teacher with that awesome attitude of yours. You are probably that teacher that none of the kids like because you are a stick in the mud. So teachers never sign a kids yearbook for them every year right?!?? I sure hope that letting my child know how proud they are, or a little inspiration is worth the 5 minutes it might take my daughters teacher to do this. What a wonderful gift to give someone, just shut it.

      • hahn

Hopefully she’s not a teacher!!! Or pray for her students if so!

    • hahn

What Kristin said!!! I am a teacher and I did sign one of these this year. Not to mention gave each of my kids a book with a handwritten note on the inside from me. I personally like to do it. All that “stuff” you mentioned yes we have to do but man it is not nearly as important as making that child light up when they remember the fun they had in Kindergarten with me!

    • Cristine

Talk about a negative Nancy! Some teachers enjoy this sort of thing and I personally would have loved to have something like this from my childhood.

  27. Sue

Darn up to $10.55 now on Amazon 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! I am seeing the price up now as well. Thanks for the heads up!

  28. Tricka

$11.39 now on Amazon. Missed it…been wanting this for a long time 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Darn!

  29. Dana Wessel Edwards

Aw, school’s out already, I bought it full price before the end of the school year.

  30. ImperfectlyMeow

did I missed the deal already? because when I check it on amazon its $11.39. I been waiting for this book to have a good deal, but it look like I missed it. bummer!!!

    • Vironika

      Ditto..

  31. Cheyenne

Great deal for the book. We’ve been doing the teacher writing a note idea for the last few years ( since my kids have been in school). Instead of writing in the actual book, target has these little notebooks no bigger than your hand that have the places you’ll goon the cover. That way it’s travel sized, because you never know where they’re going to go. 😉
