BAB is ridiculously expensive… We got my daughter a dog with barking sound clicker, and it costed a whopping $35.00! My husband was shocked and won’t go back.
It is much cheaper to buy online and then stuff in store. You can usually get free shipping and use promo codes. But in case anyone might have an EXTRA email code I would greatly appreciate it. We are going in store tonight. Thank you.

Tried to use my $10 off coupon with the 2 for $40 deal and they said no at the store so we just got the $12 bear and spent $2.14 and they were kinda rude about it… I took a friends daughter how doesn’t get much and when we asked for a box instead of a paper bag for her bear the cashier rolled her eyes😡
That’s horrible!!! Coupon or not you should not be treated that way. It’s suppose to be a fun experience. I would call their corporate office for sure.
They are expensive, I usually get discounted gift cards and have purchased a bear/ bunny for all significant holidays! I think there will be no more build a bear in our future! My little ones are 5 & 7, so now they prefer Lego’s, even though they still sleep with their bears 🐻 It’s a nice and unique experience if you can get a good deal!
I went to a BAB store with my daughter and sister in law for the first time last week. It is SO expensive. I think that birthdays or Christmas is okay, but it isn’t something I would do on a regular basis. The employee that checked us out was one of the rudest people I have ever met. It made me never want to go back!
I’ve taken my daughter every year for her birthday and always received fantastic customer service. We even brought in and old “stuffy” to have its sound replaced. They had to cut the old strings and re-sew it by hand. While doing that they refreshed the stuffing and accidentally added too much so they happpily opened it back up, removed some stuffing and re-sewed it by hand again.
Yes the place can be expensive. I search for coupons and get discounted gift cards before we go. I also give my daughter a budget. Now that she’s a little older I can give her a dollar amount but even as young as 4-5 I could explain that she could get a cheap animal+sound+clothing OR a medium animal+1 extra OR a fancy animal plain. I’d also recommend skipping the shoes – they’re pricey, hard to keep on and not cuddly.
