I wanted to share this crazy easy deal that’s going on at Hy-Vee through Tuesday, Aug 1st. When you buy 5 General Mills cereals, you’ll instantly save $5. On top of that, many varieties are on sale 5/$10!!! So right there it’s $1 a box! Plus, there are several coupons on Coupons.com right now for GM cereals that are included in this deal. I bought 10 boxes in one transaction and used coupons to bring my total down to $6.50 for 10 boxes!!! Woot woot, love great deals!

Here’s just one deal idea to get you thinking…

Buy 3 Very Berry Cheerios 11oz $2 each
Buy 2 Reese’s Puffs Cereals 12.5oz $2 each
Total = $10
Receive $5 off instant savings
Use three $1/1 Very Berry Cheerios printable coupons found here or in the 6/25 SS (exp 8/5)
Use two $0.50/1 Reeses Puffs Cereal printable coupons found here
Final cost $1 total – just $0.20 per box!

More General Mills cereal coupons that may be included in the sale…

(Thanks, Julia!)

Thanks for posting this deal! This is the first Hy-vee deal I’ve seen on here. It is where I do 90% of my grocery shopping since we live in a rural area and don’t have many stores to choose from!

    • Angie (Sweet Sidekick)

      You’re welcome, Dee!

    • Sara

Agree, amazed to see a Hy-Vee deal!!

  2. Maggie

I did a very similar deal today. I just stumbled on the deal and happened to have some coupons with me and a $1/2 digital deal. Got 5 boxes for 2.99 and then also got a $2 oyno Catalina. I went and did the deal a second time.

    • Angie (Sweet Sidekick)

Sweet! Great time to stock up!

  3. Nikki

Plus you can submit for a movie ticket if you purchase Honey Nut Cheerios, Reese’s puff or Cookie Crisp! Savingstar had a General Mills 1$ coupon for 2 as well!

    • Jen N

Awesome. I am definitely submitting for the movie ticket.

  4. Whitney

I did the same deal earlier but did even better! We found a $2 off a fresh fruit purchase if you buy 4 boxes of cereal coupon on a box, plus, a $3.50 off your next purchase coupon printed at checkout!!! Nothing like a moneymaker!

    • Jen N

      Awesome!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great find! Thanks for sharing Whitney!

    Awesome deal!

I also found a savingstar $1 off two boxes rebate.

I love Hy-Vee. I did this last week when it first started. I got 25 boxes for 12.50 and it printed a Catalina for $5 off my next purchase. I went back today for 5 more boxes for $2.50 total after coupons and it printed a $2 off your next purchase Catalina. So 30 boxes for $8. I kept some, gave some to family members and the rest went to a local food pantry.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great score! ๐Ÿ˜€

GM has a Catalina deal going until August 6. So if you buy in lots of 10 you will get the $5 onyo.

  8. Julia

I am thinking of doing this with the Ibotta offer for the $3.75 off wyb Very Berry Cheerios and another GM cereal to save even more!

    • Whitney

I’m only seeing that as a Wal-Mart ibotta. It’s not showing up on my Hyvee list.

Thanks for posting this deal at HyVee. I hope you’re able to post more specials from this store. It can be pricey (IMO), however, on a lot of their items.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re very welcome! Thanks for the feedback!

I too was excited to see a HyVee Post!! Love this store and they are super coupon friendly! They often have great 2 day and weekly deals. Hope you have time to post more from this store. Thanks a million, you all are my go to coupon site, I visit here at least twice a day.<3

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear you have enjoyed the deals!! Thanks so much for your feedback Rondee! I will definitely pass it along to the team! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I did this deal in lots of 10. I had coupons for each box and got a $5 Catalina that you can roll on the next transaction making them free. Great food shelf donation. Note that the 5/$10 flavored are limited and the berry Cheerios are not included.

  12. sa

Very berry is not included in the 5 for 10 at my hyvee. So I skipped this deal.

  13. Deanna Kristen

It would be so great if Hy-Vee was added as one of your stores that you track the deals regularly. I love Hy-Vee!

I think it’s important to know what size the cereal is. I can get cereal (many varieties) for Slightly over $1/box at Aldis and it’s usually 12-14 oz. at menards last week they had 24-27 oz boxes (malt o meal) for $2.27 and I saw in the most recent Hyvee Ad that for a few days cereal (malt o meal) 5/$10 22 to 26 oz doc just keep that in mind also.

    • Rachel Lynn

Oh and also keep in mind how much off per gallon that’s a savings to me. If you buy $10 you earn .25 off a gallon of gas!

  15. Julie

Thanks for posting this. I just got 10 boxes for $5.85 after coupons and got the $5 Catalina. May go back for 10 more before Tuesday.

    • Jessica (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You are very welcome, Julie! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Rachel Lynn

Which ones were included? And what coupons did you use?

      • Julie

Reg Cheerios, Honeynit cheerios, multigrain cheerios, Reese’s puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, lucky charms and maybe one or two more. I printed coupons off for General Mills cereals at coupons.com, printed some at General Mills cite and my paper had General Mills cereal coupons. I used $1.00 of 2 boxes and 50 cents off one box. Be on the look out on the multigrain cheerios boxes because they had prelims doe save $2 on fresh fruit when you buy 4 boxes. Hope this helps!

        • Rachel Lynn

Thanks! I went but there were no signs up for those 5/$10’so I didn’t buy any.
