My daughter also plays and runs track. She got Rosche Nike shoes her size cost about $50 but she wears big size might be cheaper for a younger size. She has had them for 2 years now.

I considered the adorable water shoes until I read the description… proposition 65 warning: contains chemicals know to CA to contain chemicals that cause cancer and other birth defects. Sorry… don’t care how good of a deal they are, I won’t knowingly expose my children to that. What are companies thinking?

    • Rose

Just wow! Thanks for he info wish I had seen that before placing the order.

I saw that warning on the men’s running shoe post yesterday from the same site. Decjded to pass on those as well as these even though my kids do need new water shoes…but I wonder if this site is just being more responsible than mose and disclosing this? Because really, most of our shoes are made with carcinogenic materials. Makes me wonder.

My thoughts exactly. I’m sure more clothing, shoes, etc contain more chemicals than we are aware of, sadly. Since its not labeled we are not aware. These just happen to be labeled.

THANK YOU!! I had a pair of every size in my cart ready to go. I just tossed a pair from Walmart that were brand new, minus tags because of a lead issue. UGH, how dare these companies poison our babies just to save some money.

Not to minimize everyone’s fears here, but Prop 65 has a list of 100s of chemicals/substances, including something as deemably benign as wood dust! The list contains a wide range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals that are known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm.

The only difference is that in California, concerned citizens/environmentalist/activists fought hard to have these identified and clearly published as a requirement of Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986! See list below:
      https://oehha.ca.gov/media/downloads/crnr/p65single07072017.pdf

I live in CA and here the warnings are displayed at almost every public building/schools/playgrounds/malls because construction materials/paints etc. have some of the chemicals. Just because other states DON’T INFORM you doesn’t mean it’s not there!

      Hope this helps….
