Those who have this what do you think? Opinions? Thanks all!!!

    • Holly

      I’m also curious!

I’ve only ever owned Silhouette’s so I can’t compare these to the Cricuts but I love my Silhouette! You can make literally anything! If you don’t want to make it yourself the Silhouette store is packed with designs and crafts and there are a ton of sites that offer free images as well. I’m one of those people that goes to a craft fair and says “I can make that!!” It’s awesome especially around the holidays to make a quick shirt or sign.

I am on the fence here! New to the cutting machine arena lol… Trying to decide between the Cameo 3 or the Cricut Maker. Obviously there is the price difference, but any opinions from you DIY gurus? 😁

    • Jamiela

I have a Cricut and I love it!! It can seem intimidating at first, but watch lots of youtube videos and you will be okay! As for the Silhouette, the program they use is more complicated than what the Cricut uses. The Silhouette takes more time to learn and figure out all the different capabilities, the Cricut is much more simpler.

I am considering trying silhouette I had a Cricut but the app kept crashing/resetting/freezing etc. and ruining my projects so I ended up returning it.

  4. Juli

I’ve had both- Cricut and Cameo 3. I prefer Cameo for my projects. Cameo Design Space is not dependent on Internet to create a project, whereas Cricut Design Space must be used online.

Thanks so much for your review Juli! We sure do appreciate it!

  5. Sara

Thanks for thr information, I too, am having trouble deciding which one.

  6. Melissa

I absolutely love my Silhouette! I use it all of the time for vinyl and my classroom.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Glad to hear it has been so useful Melissa! Thanks for sharing your experience!

Is this the bestest price? Is this the newest model?

  8. Karin

    I LOVE my Cameo…Love.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!

Can someone comment to the benefits of Silhouette over Cricut? Does this model require you to buy designs or can you create your own without any additional membership/package? I too, like the ability to create something personal last minute but don’t want to have an ongoing expense with a tool that I use on occasion.

Silhouette has a feature that you can insert any image from the internet and trace it without having to buy anything. (Look on YouTube for how to). If you do buy designs from their online store it’s only like $0.99. I haven’t used circuit before but I live by my silhouette for making tshirts, banners, signs and decals. Worth the investment!

    • Jamiela

I have the Cricut and I make personalized things all the time. Cricut has a membership that includes access to a bunch of pictures and fonts however I have never purchased the membership. You can get any picture from online and upload it to design space (the program Cricut uses). As for fonts, I never purchase those either, I use the website dafont.com and download any font I like for free. To my knowledge the difference I have heard is that Silhouette is harder to use, Cricut is pretty simple to use and learn. I hope this information helps you out!! Regardless of which one you choose you will definitely love it and have lots of fun with it!!

wonder if amazon is a better deal for $70 more…

  11. martha

I love my Cameo. I had a Cricut but gave it to my SIL because you have to buy cartridges or pay a monthly fee to access the Cricut designs. There are lots of free designs on the internet for the Cameo. I think the Cameo is a better deal in the long run.

Can you use any logo like a sports team logo on this or is it specific only designs?

    • Jill

Sports logos work. You just trace the design. It is a learning curve, like all machines, but such a wonderful thing.

  13. Ashley

I love my cameo 3! You can take most images from google and trace them in the program to get logos you want. I just wouldn’t sell them. There are also SO Many free fonts that work with it.

  14. Stephanie

I love my Cameo. I use it all the time. But I do buy the Cricut mats to use with my Cameo. They are half the price and always on sale at Michaels. I really only use the Cameo mats for precision cutting.

  15. Jenny

I love my cameo! I didn’t know all the things I could do, until I got it.

    Are all cameo 3 Bluetooth?
