Need to have your iPhone screen repaired?

Amazon Home Services now offers iPhone Screen Repair starting at just $79.99 – and the best part is that a technician will come to YOUR home/office to fix your screen at a time that is convenient for YOU!

Keep in mind that you must backup your phone data before your service and repairs typically take between 15 and 90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the repair and the device involved. Plus, ALL replacement parts are included in the price and your device will be restored to full working order – and if the device can’t be fixed, you won’t be charged! Sounds good to me!

Is this a good deal?

Unless you have previously purchased AppleCare+ from the Apple Store (costs $99) for your iPhone, you’ll pay $129 to have an out-of-warranty iPhone 6, iPhone SE screen repaired OR up to $169 to have an out-of-warranty iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus screen replaced at an Apple Store.

However, if your iPhone IS under warranty or if you’ve purchased the extended AppleCare+ Protection Plan from the Apple Store for your iPhone, you’ll pay just $29 for screen damage repair (AppleCare+ includes 2 incidents of accidental damage coverage).

SO, unless you have extended AppleCare+ protection, this seems like a good deal! PLUS, ya gotta love not having to step foot outside your door to have your iPhone screen repaired! 😀

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not a fan of all these services that come to your home. I guess I’ve watched one too many crime dramas.

I agree… I hate when a business needs to come to my house. I feel like I need to do extra cleanining, have coffee ready, and control the dog the whole time. Not a lot of fun. I guess if you’re desperate for a screen repair and hate to leave the house thenit makes sense. Doesn’t Staples offer screen repair?

I but new screens for $25 and replace them myself. Most of the time it’s super easy.

      Me too!

      Where
Do you purchase from and how do you do it ? My husbands screen is broken so bad that glass keeps falling off

Buy the screen from Amazon, then YouTube the screen replacement how to’s for your phone.

I always buy the screen from Amazon and if you don’t have the tiny little screwdrivers, make sure to buy a screen that comes with the toolkit. I’ve never spent more than $40 doing it this way.

wanna know where to buy the screen too, my husband’s Samsung screen is broken for two months, my ipad pro screen is broken too. TIA.

I was gonna say exactly the same thing. If you’re even just slightly handy like me, then YouTube + eBay is your friend in the case of MOST hardware issues or accidents smartphones have. (Again, only if your phone isn’t in warranty)
I’d consider myself of average intelligence, with no formal tech training or education, and I’ve replaced batteries, screens, and charging ports for both android and iPhones of my own and my family)
Just last week I replaced my Samsung note phone’s charging port for a grand total of a 7$ set purchased on eBay consisting of both the part and the tools required. It probably would’ve cost me at least 40$ to get a pro to do it.
I know that’s one of the more cheaper problems to fix, but even screen replacements are less than half the cost if you do it yourself, and YouTube is filled to the brim with tutorials by professionals
My only advice if you want to try it is to do it at your own risk. Try a few videos before settling on one to get a feel of who does it smarter and the most careful and professionally. Watch the video you choose at least 2x prior to starting so you can gain not only confidence, but also can get familiar with the internal structure of the device,….and don’t even try if you are in a rush (slow and steady wins the race) or think that the process is too difficult for you…..as if you screw it up, then all you’ve done is wasted your time, money and made for a likely more costly pro repair. I wouldn’t start with more complicated repair like screen replacements though if it’s a really expensive phone. I only messed up once (with a cheaper phone thankfully)…. out of well over a dozen replacements…and the only reason I did mess up with that one was because I wasn’t patient with it, so got frustrated and rough/sloppy when things didn’t go as quickly and easily as I wanted them to….that’s a big no no. Stay calm and be gentle no matter what happens, and anyone should be able to do it.

I found it frustrating to try to do myself! I think if you are patient and good at that kind of stuff go for it!

    • Amanda

What I do when I buy a new phone is spend the extra $50 or so for lifeproof case and then I don’t have to worry about it 😁

Anyone have a certain place place they buy the screens from amazon? The last one bought for $50 didnt work.
