I would recommend FabFitFun or Popsugar Must Have 😉

  2. bdubs

I follow another site also (mysubscriptionaddiction.com). They have people with subscriptions to almost every box out there and do monthly posts on what was received. It’s a good way to find out what usually shows up in these boxes and to see where people have had good (or bad) customer service experiences. They also share coupons for free or reduced first month of a box.

    • Emily

I second checking out MSA! 🙂

  3. Chelsers

Wow I didn’t know about a lot of these!

  4. Coupon Ninja

I like Art Snacks too… for the artist in your life. $20 and you get quality stuff.

  5. Carrie

I love Boxycharm all full size makeup items and they are AWESOME! $20 a box I believe. Also a good one is ipsy also makeup but deluxe sizes $10 box I believe.

    • Tammy

I also second Ipsy and BoxyCharm. If you love makeup these boxes are always worth way more than what you spend. And MSA is an awesome review site for boxes if you are on the fence.

  6. MegMc

We tried the BeanBox. We LOVE coffee, but these were just meh. I tried using them in a drip pot and in the reuseable keurig things. All the coffee smelled great, but it brewed SUPER weak. No matter how strong I tried to make it, it was always just so weak.
Go local for your coffee. You’ll probably get a way better, way fresher deal than BeanBox

    • Michelle

I tried it to and wasn’t really that impressed… I liked the free 3 coffee pack Dunkin’ doughnuts sent…

  7. Andrea

Lootcrate is awesome. Wizarding crate is awesome for any harry potter fan!!

  8. Debbie

I haven’t heard of some of these boxes-neat! Also, I would recommend Kiwi Crate. My kids loved the activities that came in the boxes!

  9. latincupon

I’ve been receiving BIRCHBOX for over a year. I look forward to getting my personalized boxed of goodies every month.

  10. Jadie

im a woman and i love dollar shave club!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

    • whitneym777

      Glad somebody said it…same! 🙂

    • ashley

Me too! I use hubby’s after he says it’s dull…..still sharp compared to other woman’s razors imo. Great product! Here’s referral link if anyone new signs up! http://shaved.by/gE7Rk

  11. April

I recommend candy club I’ve had a subscription for about 6 months it’s expensive but if you can afford it I would recommend. Also look for your first box free link from a paying member. A paying member gets to give away 5 free boxes and the free box includes free shipping.

  12. April

I would not recommend birchbox at all, only if you won it and got a free subscription would it be worth it. The target boxes with drug store brand items is better.

    • Renee

Yes! I think ipsy is better

  13. Tp

I’m addicted to these boxes. I do really like lip monthly, fit fab fun, ipsy, oh vibe, Bonding bees, and unbox love. Just started getting period boxes, snack and candy boxes for my college girl.

  14. Paula

I joined Too Much Monday book and relaxation club ( toomuchmonday.com) its awesome. Similar to a book club but it comes with other items typically a pampering item, some gourmet dessert, and beauty product and a tea blend. I love it !!!

  15. Karen

Allure beauty box is the best in my opinion. I have tried birch, ipsy and did the target boxes. Allure has high end products and each box usually has a full size product.

  16. dealzgurl

I got a three-month book of the month subscription for Christmas last year. I work with words all day so reading for me needs to be escapism. I’m STILL trying to find a book that I want to read….the first book I got was sent by mistake, the second one I actually like, and I’m hoping November’s selections will have something that I want to read so I can wrap this subscription up, lol. Great concept though because I love books! I love My Subscription Addiction too…was just thinking about checking for a subscription for my stepmother! Great timing, Collin!

  17. Steph

Carin box, if you have an outdoorsy person to buy for. I got a friend of mine a Carin box one year because she loves hiking, backpacking and stuff like that. She loved it! I finally got myself a subscription as well.

  18. MamaX3

We get couple of subscription boxes mentioned on the list and like them but we also get KidBox. They send designer name brand clothes for kids for ages nb-teen sizes. We have gotten brands like 7 for all mankind, Lucky, DKNY, Puma, Tea collection and etc. They also donate clothes to kids in need for every box you choose to keep. It’s kinda like Stitch fix for kids but Kidbox does not have a styling fee, it’s free to try and you pay discounted prices for clothes you keep or send it all back free of charge. You can also get $25 off towards your 1st box http://refer.kidbox.com/fqnf4

  19. Bobbi

I’ve been getting Uppercase Box for my 14-year old daughter for over a year and she loves it. There hasn’t been a book she didn’t like, and every book is autographed by the author. I recommend it for teen girl bookworms.

  20. Linda

This may sound silly to some, but for people that have chickens and love spoiling them or getting chicken apparel/home accessories there is a subscription box called Henny and Roo in each box you will get surprise items including first aid items for your chickens, treats, and something for yourself such as maybe a shirt, a kitchen towel etc all chicken theme. There really fun.

    • Karen

You’ve helped me spoil my Mother. That sounds perfect for her! I swear she is a woman possessed lol

    • Michele M

Thanks for sharing! This sounds like something my sister-in-law would love! Fun!

  21. Emily

I recommend Gentlemen’s Box. I got it for my brother and the quality was excellent. I was very pleased with the value!

  22. DC

    Barkbox rocks!!

    • Melissa

I love Fair Trade Friday!!! You get awesome items hand made by women (mostly) all over the world. There are several different subscription boxes to choose from. Your purchase provides income for families asking the poorest of the poor. http://fairtradefriday.club/

  23. MermaidMommy

FabFitFun, Stitch Fix, and Lootcrate are my faves. I think I might try the Book of the month.

  24. Judy

I’m also a big fan of my subscription addiction. It’s fun to see what’s in the boxes you are getting as well as the ones you’re not getting. Always fun to see. I have done many. With Black Friday comong up there should be some great deals on them.
I like and subscribe to Degusta box, Popsugar, Fabfitfun, Luxe pinneaple and Klover box. I know there are a few others I get too. Beekman 1802 is quarterly and nice as is Rachel Zoe.I have done birchbox, ipsy, Boxycharm, Beautycon and others. Found myself getting to many samples of things I will never use so dropped some. I pass along some of the things
I like but don’t need or won’t use to family and friends and do donations too. Lots of donations. I have found you can only use so much.

  25. Jem

Thank you for this post, Mary! I’d love to try a few boxes and I’m sure my son would love Loot Crate.
And of course, it is exciting to find another Mama who trives off of Jesus! High five! 🙂

  26. Michelle

I would suggest the “swag bag” for the company “I love jewelry” it’s only $10 per month plus $4 shipping… it contains a monogrammed clothing item like a shirt or dress and they are items for that season and the color is also for the season… my 15 year old LOVES it… she loves the cute boutique style clothes and they all have her monogram on them… sizes run small so maybe order a size up.. hth

  27. Bunny

I LOVE subscription boxes and get an average of 10 different boxes a box. My absolute favorite box is Pusheen! I also get several stationary, sticker and home boxes.

  28. Amanda McGown

My 8 year old daughter loves WOW box. All Japanese treats, like weird make our own candy kits, salty Japanese snacks, and grean tea Kit kats (for example). Very different!

  29. Rebecca

We like Loot Crate, they have several more specific subscriptions like WWE(which we get), Halo, Minecraft, etc. And Surprise Ride for the kids.

  30. Jennifer

I like Wal-Mart Beauty boxes. You get one every season and it’s always nice. Full size maybelline mascara or a pack of hairties, etc. You get a lot for only a small fee.

  31. Morna

I get Glossybox and I love it. It’s $20 a month but all higher end products. There’s at least 1 full size item.

  32. Lindsey

Oh my gosh. I love my stitch fix subscription! As a stay at home mom I hate having to take my 1 year old to the mall to get new clothes for myself AND I really can never find too much in the stores that actually fit me right! Also, there’s no such thing as trying on clothes with a 1 year old in the store so the fact that I can do it all at home is a win win! So I get my box monthly and so far have always kept at least 1 thing per box so I never lose my styling fee!! It’s SO fun getting a box of clothes that someone else picks out for you!! It’s like a surprise!!! Please feel free to use my referral code and try a box!!! I promise you won’t regret it!!

  33. Amanda R

Trunk Club is also a good box to get. Its like Stitch Fix but the clothes are from Nordstrom. They’ve got some really cute stuff. I also have Love With Food box and OwlCrate. OwlCrate is a book subscription. Ive loved every book ive gotten and the little extras are awesome to. Every book comes with the authors autograph and a written note about the book.

  34. KNM

Thanks for sharing. So many new ideas:)

  35. Jen

We get Universal Yums. They send snacks and treats from a different country each month with a great pamphlet with information about all the items in the box and the country. There are puzzles for kids to try and figure out clues to the next month’s box and a grid for rating each item.
There are two different levels to subscribe I think, we get the bigger box 25 a month.

  36. Andrea

I’m enjoying getting ouiplease (French luxury items) and am getting ready to subscribe to getfrenchbox, which is cheaper and offers French cosmetics, snacks, and French random items!

  37. Valerie H

We’ve gotten the kiwi crates and I don’t recommend them. They sent fun stuff to build, like a wind up flashlight, but everything is so flimsy that it just falls apart. It was very frustrating.

I highly recommend the Pipsticks subscription!! They send you lots of fun stickers every month, I got it for myself for several months. I’m finally running out of stickers again so I’m going to get it again.

  38. Christi

I just started doing ROCKSBOX and I love it! It’s like a jewelry rental service. You tell them what your jewelry style is like and they pick 3 items to send you. You wear them as long as you’d like. When you’re done, you send me back and they’ll ship you 3 more.
Also, the styling fee each month is $21, but you can use that toward any jewelry you’d like to keep. I’ve even got to keep Kate Spade jewelry for less than $10 by using my styling fee to purchase it. Their items are very on-trend and come from great names like Kate Spade and Kendra Scott.
I especially like that you get to see what they’re sending you before they ship it out. And if you don’t like an item, you can swap it out before it ships to you. It guarantees you’ll be getting something you’ll love.
If you’re interested, please use my link and you’ll get your first month for FREE, which means you get to try the service and receive $21 towards your jewelry purchase if you decide to buy anything.

  39. ashley conner

Another bump for Dollar shave club! Great product and some neat little trial size items for dad’s sticking at Christmas! $5 to try and easy to cancel if you don’t like or just want one box.

    Please use my link: http://shaved.by/gE7Rk

  40. Tawni

I love monthly subscription boxes, Dollar Shave Club is awesome! Great quality razors for a very low price. I have saved so much money switching from buying razors at drug stores to Dollar Shave Club, highly recommend! Sign up using my link if you are interested! Thanks!!

  41. Tawni

Hello Fresh isn’t considered a monthly subscription but also a great box to receive! I get a weekly food delivery from Hello Fresh and love it! I am eating smaller portions, healthier food and trying all kinds of new exciting recipes. Prices are comparable to what you would spend at a grocery store and way less than eating out at restaurants.
If anyone is interested in giving it a try, sign up with this link and you will get $40 off your first delivery! (and i will get a $20 credit, which is a huge help for me and my family!) Thanks!!!

  42. Amanda

My husband and I were talking about the “Geek Box” which apparently is a version of the “Loot Box” in Europe. He saw it watching a gamer he likes to follow on Youtube and now I’m seriously considering getting him a subscription for Christmas… it’s only $13/mo for a year?! 🙂 I’m in!!

  43. aragnit

    what an article

  44. Sarah

Kidstir and Battlbox were total busts for us here. I like to give the kiddos a subscription as a Christmas gift as it is fun to receive something every month. In 2017 we tired a couple and here are my thoughts. Kidstir gives you a few loose recipe cards and a couple of small accessories that honestly, I can find the same quality at the dollar store. If it were a complete set where you didn’t need to supply all the ingredients it would be much better IMO. We kept the cookie cutters, tossed the terrible frosting container and tips, and have not touched the recipes.
Battlbox was another box we tried as one of our kids loves survival stuff and gadgets. The boxes started out promising and became worse with each month. Also, some of the items were really questionable (he got a cigar in one). The value vs. price paid was not great either. With shipping I was paying $30ish and some of the boxes looked were barely valued above that (and that is including their online access).
The box I really enjoyed was my Allure beauty box. Most months the value was incredible but I did stop my subscription due to cutting all unnecessary expenses but I am going to restart it in 2018.
We ordered KiwiCo boxes but have not played with them yet so no thoughts on those yet
I decided to forgo the food box for another kid and make my own version. I went to my local Asian market and found all kinds of goodies, bought a $1 Rubbermaid container and wrapped it all up. It was a hit!
Harry’s razors are on their way too as the shavers in the house like these and the first box is only $3 but, we will keep the blade service after. Saves me a trip to Target!
I may just keep making my own boxes for the kids as I think I can make pretty fun kits for each personality for less than a subscription box will cost me. Happy 2018!!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

What a neat idea to make your own! Thanks for sharing your experience with all of the boxes.

  45. Brittany

My 7-yr-old daughter LOOOVES KidStir! I got it for her on her birthday and she’s loved it all since April. Each box is themed (many times for the upcoming holiday) and the recipes have good flavor and teaches a variety of kitchen skills. We now have a drawer of all of her kitchen tools and a binder for all of her recipes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Sounds fun! Thanks for sharing how much your daughter enjoys it!

  46. Carol

Sephora has a subscription box that I used to get. It was only $10 and I always liked the products. I thought it was a much better value than Birchbox. I’ll probably sign up again sometime.
