      You’re welcome!

With baking just around the corner, this is a great deal. Sometimes I even make a “dinner basket” for my kids to help them complete a meal. Italian spices, pasta, sauce , bread etc….

What a clever idea, Mdalton! Mind if I steal it? LOL

A tip…drug store spices are awful quality IMHO. I used to buy these at WAG and CVS on sale because I thought I was getting a deal, until I realized that I really wasn’t because the quality is so poor. Instead of buying these, go to Whole Foods and buy spices in bulk instead! The quality difference is profound. A full baggie of organic oregano cost me 0.36 at WF last night! Yes, 36 cents! Unlike the CVS stuff (which is flavorless), this was super-fresh. The cinnamon at WF is vastly better–like an order of magnitude better, and might cost under $1 depending how much you buy. Buy GOOD spices, don’t store them in plastic, and you’ll be amazed how much better your food tastes.

They sell it open or packaged? Which section did you find the oregano?

      • Maggie

They have a huge shelving area near the bulk goods or the produce section that contains bulk spices in glass jars. You measure out what you want from the jars with a clean spoon, mark it with the code, and they weight it at the register. It’s not hard to find.

I actually think Aldi spices are great too

      • Lindsay

I agree Aldi spices are great! Never had any issues. My store also has new sizes comparable to these for just .55 cents FYI

    • Holls

I agree, my husband bought a private label cinnamon and a huge bottle at that and the stuff is so bland.

Thanks for the tip. I bought some spices from dollar tree, i thought “all brand spices should be the same.” I was hugely mistaken. I cant really describe but only to say “yuck.”

I use ground red pepper for a family recipe. I’m having a hard time locating the labeled “red” type.
Can someone tell me the difference in it versus ground cayenne?

    Thanks
