Starbucks lovers!

While supplies last, hurry into your local Starbucks where you may be able to snag a 2018 Brewed Coffee & Tea Refill Tumbler for $40. This tumbler holds 16 fl oz and is vacuum-sealed.

Note that these only appear to be available in select stores.

This may sounds a little pricey for a tumbler, but…

Bring the tumbler into any participating Starbucks store during January 2018 and you will receive one FREE Grande Brewed Hot Coffee or Brewed Hot Tea EVERY single day! This offer is valid for the entire month of January – limit one per day, and excludes Starbucks Reserve coffee. This would make a great gift for yourself or the Starbucks lover in your life!

Keep in mind that these may go on clearance for MUCH less towards the end of December (as they have in years past), but there is no guarantee.

Get rewarded for making a Starbucks run!

Plus, for a limited time, head on into your local Starbucks and score a FREE $5 Starbucks Gift Card when you purchase 4 grande or larger handcrafted beverages in a single transaction after 2 PM!

(Thanks, Freebies for a Cause!)

If only they did iced coffee…

    • Danielle

It applies to iced coffee and plain iced tea as well!!

    • 2groovy1

They won’t always do ice coffee but I have been able to score one here and there

  2. Carole

Anyone know if the tumblers are dishwasher safe?

    • Stefanie

      They are stainless steel.

    • Chris

      Handwash.

  3. harlooey

Thanks for letting us know ! I will wait till end of December to buy the mug then would be such a fun treat in January

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome!

    • kirsten

I would buy it now if you see it because it isn’t good until January anyway:)

      • E

        I did….well worth it….$40 cup vs $80/m in coffee…its a win win….

  4. harlooey

Also I noticed once that someone gave the barista their reusable mug then stirred it with their Starbucks spoon so the Starbucks spoon touched the inside of the old used mug … did the barista wash that spoon? Lol eewww

    • gary

Thats is bad, sadly ive seen worse…way worse…😣

      • Daniela

Heat kills germs? That is how I get by when I see stuff like that. My barista won’t take my reusable cup if it isn’t washed so hopefully they all feel the same.

        • Jim

Can people just get over themselves and have a good coffee at that Starbucks serves please

    • Danielle

Immediately after use spoons are placed into and sit in a cup of frequently changed sanitizing solution.

  5. Kasey

Is it only plain black coffee? Or can you add flavors?

    • mskoolest

The plain black coffee is what the refill includes. Just remember that most places will charge for flavor and steamed milk add-ins (~$0.50 each). The cold milk they have on the side is free.

(This is part of the reason that they changed the star rewards. After a person added 12 flavorings to their tumbler they received a free Starbucks item. Because Starbucks used to give a star per transaction, no matter the amount of the transaction.)

  6. Mdalton

    Wondering the same……..

    • Daniela

You can add flavors. You can ask for any of the latte flavors in coffee. I get toffee nut coffee all the time.

      • Mourrene

Thanks for sharing. Didn’t know that. I seldom drink their coffee…usually do a specialty drink.

  7. Marie

Why does it have to be so….ugly? Swami says “a discount is going to happen on that tumbler.”

    • Just passing through

I believe it was ugly last year. I actually thought this one was ok
      Lol

      • jane

agreed. I was like hey it’s not as ugly this year lol

  8. Meghan

Wasn’t there a day in December they went on sale in Target? 20%? That’s how I bought it last year!

  9. Concerned

Beware of the new tumbler design on cup. It has images of the all seeing eye and many other symbols that relate to death, torture and evil. Buyers beware.

    • jane

Even if what your saying is not true it certainly does have a tribal look to it

    • Laura

      Oh good grief 🙄

    • J

      😂 what a scary cup! 👁

    • Gilly

Thank you for the late night laugh!

  10. IzzyJ

Last year, when you used the tumbler during January you could get free coffee, but you had to pay for the flavored syrups. In previous years the syrups had been free.

  11. Chris

Does it work for iced coffee?

  12. Mary

Caribou has been doing this for sometime now. Their new cup comes out on December 9, 2017 and you get free coffee or tea through the end of January 3, 2018, or you can get a handcrafted beverage for $2.99. It’s a great deal and Caribou Coffee is much better than Starbucks. Not to mention the fact that Starbucks has so much negative attention surrounding them all the time.

  13. Lau

Last year I bought two of the refillable mugs while driving thru Virginia at a Starbucks on the interstate. I paid $10 (per mug)..

    • Joey

Do you recall if this was late in December on clearance?

    • Glowia

That deal was well worth it.

  14. Charles

I once saw Cady Heron wear army pants and flip flops so I bought army pants and flip flops….

  15. Joey

One per day didn’t apply last year – lol. Especially if you go in during peak busy times. The baristas see that mug and want to get you in and out quickly, so nothing gets scanned. Then go back in the afternoon and they look at you for a second – then fill it up. Love my baristas!!

  16. Lau

Yes it was late December or possibly 1st few days into Jan when I bought the discounted refillable mug.

  17. Ali

I found one at my Target Starbucks today! So after the 10% of Starbucks cartwheel and my red card 5-% discount it was $36 and change after tax. My husband loves that I get him this gift every year! 🙂

  18. Jerri

I’ve been giving these at Christmas tomy adult children for several years. They live it and have created a contest, who can get my money’s worth! Valentine’s they get $25 gift card to help with their new found addiction! 😉

  19. Wes

I did this the first time around and got free latte and mochas. Only coffee and tea this time? I need something more than water for breakfast.

    • mskoolest

I purchased the refill tumbler in 2016 and 2017, it was free coffee and tea at that time as well.

  20. Wondering

How do they track the “one per day”?

    • mskoolest

The barista has no way to track whether or not you have received your “one refill of the day.” All the refill tumblers have identical codes.

  21. Linda P

can you pay extra for specialty latte’s? or flavored teas?

    • mskoolest

No, they will not allow you to substitute a coffee for a latte but you can pay for the flavoring you would like to have added to your tea. Usually the flavoring is ~$0.50.

  22. Steven

someone on slickdeals mentioned they bought the refill tumbler for $12 at a target starbucks.

    • bellwalker

Yep, Steven! I found one yesterday for $12 at Target. 😃

  23. Sierra

I received one for Christmas, thanks to my sister.

  24. Song

I got one yesterday for only $4 at target Starbucks. Whohoo ! Didn’t realize there will be free coffee for this entire month until I saw this post. Thank you. This really made my day!

  25. Boo

I got his as a gift and tried to use it at a Starbucks today at a university and was turned away- it is a Starbucks but they said hey don’t have a way of entering the code.
