Is the $64.95 cost worth it?

If you or someone you know visits Starbucks every morning for their daily dose of caffeine, this would make a perfect gift for them (or you!) and be totally worth the cost! A grande iced cup of coffee is $3.95, so if you were to go every day in January, that would be $122.45. With this offer, you’d be saving $57.50 plus getting the stylish tumbler.

Keep in mind that these may go on clearance for MUCH less towards the end of December (as they have in years past), but there is no guarantee.

Can a Starbucks employee verify this for me…I purchased this at a kiosk at my local mall ONLY because both baristas told me it’s any grande hot coffee or tea for LIFE. Regardless of the date stamped on the side.

    • Katrina

Not a Starbucks employee, but I’ve purchased a previous year’s cup, and it was definitely only valid for the month of January. I believe there is a code that the barista has to enter when they ring up the order, and the coupon expires after the promotion.

No way would I pay 64.95…..

  3. Carrie

That is ridiculous. If you are buying that much coffee or tea from Starbucks a month, you have a problem. Buy a bag from your store for under $10.

  4. Linda

I bought this for a friend every year for many years up until Covid and they stopped offering it. The last time I bought it was Christmas 2019 and it was $40 if I remember correctly. Wow … quite an increase in price! Not sure it is now worth it, even for a gift.

Starbucks please explain why the cup is so expensive.

  6. Christina

Starbucks makes enough money around the world to make everything in its stores affordable. They’re just as greedy as other companies, and they know they can get away with it, because someone out there will always buy something from them, no matter what the cost. I’d rather give my money to small businesses that care about their workers and customers….

I am so excited this is back, but so bummed about the price! I’ve done this every year they had the refillable tumbler and it was totally worth it. Free coffee every day, plus the syrup/flavor I usually have added is also free. That’s at least a $4 coffee a day for 31 days. However, I feel like the price is steep this year! I think they used to be like $35. I will say that every year the tumbler itself has been well made…it’s been a really nice tumbler that would normally sell for like $25-30 without the free coffee. January is ALWAYS my most productive month because it’s the only month I drink Starbucks coffee everyday. Start your year off right!

SO glad you’ve been able to grab it each year, Britney! You’re right! 🙌An awesome way to start your year! 💞 Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with us! Hope you can grab it again this year!

I remember years ago when the cups could be used on any handcrafted espresso beverage too! That was really a great deal and made an awesome gift! I don’t remember the exact price but it wasn’t even this expensive for plain coffee or tea.

  9. Izzy

I bought this cup in the past and it was a way to perk up a snowy January. I will probably buy it again, but may wait until later in the month to look for it on sale.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing, Izzy! So glad you enjoyed the perk of snagging one of these! ❣️

Anyone find this cup marked down? Hoping to get it on sale 😀

    • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Izzy! Not yet but keeping our fingers crossed!🤞

  11. Georgia Jackson

Can you use these at any location?

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Georgia! The free refills with the cup are available at participating locations, so you might call the locations you plan on traveling to ahead of time to be sure, before making a trip. Hoping this is helpful! ❤️

So excited when I bought the cup, but so sad today when I tried to use it to get decaf coffee and was told that Starbucks no longer serves decaf. Was told to buy Starbucks coffee and brew it at home or try another chain. Anyone have a suggestion of where to go that I can get decaf and non-dairy milk without paying extra?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO sorry to hear that. ❤️Do you by chance have another Starbucks location near you that might still serve decaf? I did check with my Starbucks and they let me know I could order decaf. You could also try Dunkin’ Donuts. I regularly get a half decaf iced coffee from Dunkin to avoid some of the caffeine but still enjoy a cup. Hoping this is helpful! 🤗🥰
