I got some free from Kmart when they were $1.99 to donate to animal shelters. I was actually going to give some to a homeless guy by our mall but they are too thin to help any so we went and bought him the thickest sleeping bag we could find… it’s heartbreaking that veterans have to sleep in the streets, but hopefully not for long. He said he got approved for housing.

I got these on Black Friday for teacher gifts! I also got these cute pot holder mitts at Target that have a package of brownie mix inside for $5. It was only about $8 total per teacher.

Are they ever cheaper than this? Like after christmas? Just wondering if i should order now or wait?

  8. Kathleen

these are great to keep in the car when it’s freezing out and the car isn’t warmed up yet or just in general for car trips!

Walmart has them now for $1.00. Bought some to give to the homeless and keep some in the car. Great deal

Are they online at WalMart? Would love to get some for the dogs.

Please keep animal shelters and rescues in mind for blanket donations too. They often put these fleece blankets in kennels and cages so the homeless dogs and cats have something soft — and the fleece can be washed in hot water daily to keep it sanitary.

Thanks Maggie. We just adopted a rescue this weekend through a great group our son in Florida is involved in. We are in Michigan. Cali was rescued from the California wildfires (hence the name). She is an 8 year old poodle mix and an absolute doll. Made her way from a kill shelter in California to Virginia. Our son picked up 7 dogs from the fires in Virginia to be fostered in Florida. He was flying up from Florida to pick up a car we gifted them for Christmas. The wonderful woman who runs the organization paid for Cali’s plane ticket, and would not accept an adoption fee (since we are family). I ordered 14 blankets to send to Florida for the rescues. Forgot to change the shipping address and had to call Kohl’s. He canceled my order so I lost my E-Bates, but when he heard the story, he upgraded me to next day shipping and gave me my Kohl’s cash to use immediately. So.. I ordered 3 more. Cali seems very happy in her “furever home.” She is not to sure about the Michigan snow having been a coastal girl.

    Great ideas

Has anyone who has a Discover credit card noticed a difference in the monthly $10 off $30 Kohls’ reward deal this month? It used to work like Kohls Cash and deduct $10 no matter what payment method was chosen and what the total was (so it could be used on something that was $10 and basically get a freebie), but this month’s code does not look like Kohls Cash (there’s no PIN) and doesn’t seem to be working at all when I try to use it at checkout. I wouldn’t be surprised if Discover found out about this and changed things so it can’t be used it except with the Discover card, but I wondered if anyone else has noticed this change?

    Thanks for the donation idea!
