Once you have purchased your MoviePass voucher, you will be sent a promo code via email and you will then enroll online. By using the promo code provided by Costco, you will not be charged again until the one year term expires.

If you’re not a Costco member, you can still score this deal but you will need to pay a 5% non-member fee.

My husband and I both have accounts, use them at AMC at least 2 times a week. Just keep in mind it won’t work for IMAX or 3D, but for regular shows (even in the new fancy assigned seat theaters) it works great. Also, if you have any problems, they are good about refunding you for tickets you pay for our of pocket. We did have some problems when the $9.99 plan was first released. I tweeted to them, one of the founders direct messaged me and actually had the problem fixed in about 30 minutes.

We have movie pass and it works so well! Our main theater is AMC and we’ve never had an issue. Basically, you decide on the movie you want to see, go to the theater and use the app to buy your ticket – you have to be something like 500 yards from the theater. Then you get in line and hand the cashier the debit card they send you, they swipe it, and your ticket prints.

I got one for my husband a few months ago and one for me. Skeptical at first, but now have been seeing every great movie out. We have seen Justice League and Thor both twice. I have used at Epic and also AMC and Cinemark. Make sure to get and use any rewards cards at the movie chains as well. Get free points for movie tickets, popcorn, drinks, etc. Also works at Regal.

My hubby and I both have it. We have 2 separate accounts. Each of us has our own card. It uses the app on your phone and both of you have to have the app on your phone. We have had it for 2 months and love it. No issues for us. It really is a great thing. We have so many date nights now 🙂

    I ordered this last time you advertised this and still havent got my card did anyone gets theirs? I got an email 2 days ago saying i should have got it by now and toclick on a link if i didnt. Iclicked on it and it says page notfound. I emailed them2 days ago and havent heard back. I know of 2 people who have used this sucessfully. I can’t wait to try it.

      We got ours. You got the code emailed from Costco and then used it to sign up for Moviepass, right? We got an email a day or 2 after we did that and it said our card was on its was and should arrive in 5-7 business days. Our card arrived 2 days ago (6 business days). We went to the movies yesterday without any issues!

If you have not received your email form Costco you can give customer service a call to see if they may be able to help – 1-800-955-2292 Also, if you have not yet received your card from Movie Pass, here are the steps they list to contact them for assistance “Send a message to our app’s live chat feature located in the Help and Feedback section in the app. You can also reach out by submitting a ticket on the MoviePass homepage.”

        This is Costco’s customer service number NOT moviepass. Moviepass customer service is nonexistent. I had 2 people tell me how great it was and saw it listed here so I tried to get this as a gift, but the receipient never got it. I have been waiting for about a month without a response from them. I have tried reaching them through Facebook too. If it works it sounds like a great product. I hope you are lucky.

I did find this contact – It also looks like you can get further support when clicking through the link above, heading to the bottom of the page and clicking on “contact”. Then I see a little “support” bubble to the bottom right of the screen where you can submit a question. Hoping they respond to you quickly!

      Some of my friends did the deal before this awesome one. Lots of them said it took 5.5 weeks to receive theirs and someone got it 3 months later! They all said it was worth it….after they received the card though

    Read the fine print on this service as I have a few friends that have had terrible luck with MoviePass and has been unsuccessful at being able to cancel the service. Theaters have the right to deny selling you tickets even if they are listed as a provider.

      While some theater employees would like to or even do reject MoviePass cards, they technically cannot. According to MoviePass CEO, if an employee rejects a MoviePass card, they are violating the Mastercard agreement between the two parties, and in-turn will eventually have to reject all Mastercards. It’s all or nothing. I have seen several comments on MoviePass’ Facebook page about customers having issues with billing or activating cards, however I have had zero issues and have seen almost 12 movies in the past three months. Hope things go smoothly for everyone! 🙂
      PS: If employees are giving MoviePass users a hard time when attempting to use their cards, they should try purchasing their ticket from the in-house ticket kiosks. I did last week for Pitch Perfect 3 and it worked like a charm!

      That’s not true. A theater is not allowed to deny you a ticket. They would have to no longer accept MasterCard. If they deny you they are denying a MasterCard… which is against mastercards rules. This is why amc still accepts MoviePass even though they have vocally said they are against it.

      Their website won’t show you participating theaters in your area until AFTER you sign up which os asinine. I borrowed someone’s phone who was telling us about MP out of town and put my ZIP into their app to see where qualified in my area.

        They won’t reimburse you UNLESS their CS has specifically given you permission to buy the ticket and get reimbursed. It is in their TOS.

      If the theatre has eticketing you can be anywhere. Our local theatre etickets so we can order our tickets before we leave home. There will be a small red ticket next to the theatres that do this. You don’t even need your MP card, only the confirmation code which they provide after you process your ticket order.

    Let me just say this…BEWARE!! their customer service is absolutely terrible! I subscribed, got my cards, couldn’t get them activated so I tried to contact customer service. HAHAHA they don’t answer any of their service requests, “live” chat, Facebook or tweets. finally I had to cancel. So far I have only received a refund for one of the cards because I did not activate it before cancelling it. Yesterday I sent a tweet to them about every 5 minutes until they would answer me, which they finally did. However, now that I am asking for a refund for the other 2 cards (and I have sent a lot of tweets to them today…they probably hate me by now lol) I am getting no response. I had to open PayPal resolutions to try to get my money back. So just beware. If you need help from them…good luck

    My husband and I love Movie pass. We have been members since September. It did take a long for our cards to arrive but was well worth the wait. We have seen about 15 movies. We prefer Regal over AMC since Regal provides reward points. We have generated lots of good freebies. I live in central florda and have not had any issues using carId. Most theaters participate. If you are hesitant to buy the year pass just sign up for the free trial. You will Love this service. I was very skeptical initially but they have surpassed my expectations.

    Moviepass is amazing! If someone is having a problem with it, they are probably not reading the instructions correctly! Like it’s is so simple and awesome! I use it all the time!

      That is not fair or accurate. My husband and I both had accounts and loved them. We decided to slash our budgets for 2018 and so we cancelled them. We both got confirmation emails saying our accounts were cancelled and we wouldn’t be charged again. Except we both have been. MoviePass won’t respond to repeated emails. Thankfully our bank is crediting us, but now I’m worried this is going to happen every month.

      I’ve been a member for quite a while and suddenly could not eticket (the only way our local theatre processes MP tickets). My husband and son could not use theirs either. Customer service is non-existent (check all the complaints in their FB page). After trying everything, I deleted and re-installed the app and I could e-ticket again. Same for hubby and my son. It is not always user error. Had I not done this, I would not have been able to use my account for the last two movies because I have yet to hear back from their CS.

      Yes, one membership per person. You cannot share a membership. And each ticket has to be redeemed on a different cellphone, one phone per account. Cannot ticket two on the same phone per their TOS or they can cancel your membership.

    Does your 1 year membership begin after you get your card or when you first place your order? I ordered these yesterday and I’m hoping the timeframe doesn’t begin until after our cards come, especially since I’m a little nervous that cards might take a while to arrive.

      Oddly enough, your membership begins when you place your order. You can use the app right away if a theatre in your area does e-ticketing.

    Buyer beware!!! I bought two of these passes for my son and his girlfriend for Christmas. I bought them when they were first offered at the lower yearly cost. At that time, there was not a way to purchase as a gift. So I bought both of them under my name. After realizing that wasn’t going to work, I contacted them online (I could not find a phone number anywhere for them). At first, they were very responsive. However, they couldn’t seem to get the changes fixed. After the first correspondence, I could not get them to respond again. I sent email after email. After several weeks of no responses, I finally filed a complaint with the BBB and disputed the charges on my credit card. After that, they finally replied. It’s been a long, frustrating battle, and I had to battle every step of the way, but my son and his girlfriend finally received they correct cards and they used them for the first time tonight! I am so thankful that they work, but I was really nervous that they would not work. If you decide to buy these passes, just pray you don’t need customer service, because it’s horrible. But, if you don’t need to contact them, the passes are great!

    Just got back from our 1st movie using moviepass. It went great! I purchased 2 and so glad I did. Definitely worth it if you have the time to go on date nights. This is an awesome deal. Think it comes out to be 7.50 a month, that doesn’t even pay for 1 ticket here in Northern California

    If I wanted to buy 4, is it true I need 4 phones to redeem them? If so, is it possible to use an iPad or kindle for the app? My children don’t have phones yet, so wondering how I would redeem 4 tickets if all required a cell phone….or is it possible to use some sort of other device?

      You have to be 18 to have MP because it comes with a mastercard. According to their TOS each MP has to be attached to it’s own cellphone, cannot use one phone for all the tickets or they can cancel your membership.

    How does this work for families? We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids. Do I buy 5 of these or just 2 for the adults? I saw something above about needing a different phone for each pass, but my kids don’t have phones.

      You have to be 18 to have a MP because it includes a mastercard. And yes, each account must be attached to its own cellphone, cannot have more than one account per phone or they can cancel your membership.
