  These are the old versions of the DS. They only work with the older games, and anything newer that says 3DS on the games will not work.
  My son was bored of it few years ago when he was around 6 because most of the more interesting games were all 3DS games and he won’t be able to play it on the original DS

  These would be fine. Theres a lot of kid friendly games and learning games. 3ds games do not work on the ds lite. This console was made before the 3ds. So you have to look for DS cartridges on ebay. Dont believe physical stores that arent gamestop have sold regular DS games since the 3ds came out

  Hard pass. Outdated sytem. A Nintendo 2ds is my suggestion. Can be had for $79.99 new and has a game included.

   I am seriously considering the cheapest option ($14.99 DS lite) – like the price of two lattes! We have a DSi that is about 10 years old is has been passed down through 2 brothers and still gets played alot. Only problem is that we have all these perfectly good games that our kids still like after all these years, but only have one DS and two little brothers…this may solve our problem for $15 🙂 …not to mention, I would much rather have them take a DS in the car than their iPads. Just nervous about the “refurbished” status?

  Shipping is $6 and up – not worth it to me now…but you can pick up some choices in store for free. Too bad!

   We have 2dsi and 2ds lite and abt 50 games we get the games all the time at game stop and flea market it’s good to take with u on car rides Dr offices or anywhere u will have to sit for a while without WiFi and they are awesome for younger kids who want to play a game like an older sibling

   We have several older games before 3DS so this will be perfect for my 6 yr old daughter to take on our Spring Break driving road trip.
