Do you have to buy a software to use this?

    • Michelle Price

Hi Sara! There is no additional software purchase. The Cricut Design Space software is free to download online.

      • sara

Thank you….you just convince me to buy it!

      • Lynn

But don’t you still have to pay for alphabets and images within Design Space?

  2. Nina

Gosh still haven’t taken the plunge.
Does anyone know when this sale ends?

  3. Mary

I got one for Christmas and am loving it! Had the old Cricut but this is so much more fun! I enjoy crafts so this is perfect!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Super glad you are enjoying yours Mary! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

I’ve been seriously debating getting one of these! I think my biggest fear is spending all that money on one and not using it enough. Can someone please share their experience with these? Also, would it be more beneficial in spending the extra money to get the Explore 2 vs just the Explore? Someone please educate me!

I just ordered last night lol…figures! But I did some research and it seems the only difference between the $149 and the $199 machines is that the $199 one has an option to cut faster. I watched a demo on YouTube and the difference was 19 seconds. I went with the $149 machine.

Look on FB for a group like Cricut for Dummies (not that you are but it has lots of great beginner ideas) and Cricut for Pros & Newbies and you will be in awe of what you can do with it, become inspired & people are super helpful with how to do projects if you have questions! I highly recommend getting one! 😉

      Thank you ladies!! 🙂

Hi Amber, do you happen to know when the Cricut sales end? I thought it was Dec 31st..thanks.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Nina! We do not have a specific end date. It appears to be available for a limited time. Hope that helps!

Just thought it might help to share that I had an old Cricut and now have the air 2. Since I received this for Christmas I have been making things and learning how to use it. It’s nice it will make what you design on your phone and not needing cartridges. Today I’ve been working on writing which the old one didn’t do. Many upgrades. Honestly I think it’s endless as to what projects you could do. I’m still learning but if you like craft making and enjoy making specialized gifts I think it’s worth it! Hope this helps some of you who are the fence!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Mary! Good to know what your experience has been like!

  7. Nina

Thanks Amber! A very Happy New Year to you guys!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You’re welcome Nina! Happy New Year!

Can you use the code for the
Easy Press? I tried to order it and it said the code was invalid.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

It appears to only be valid for the machines listed in the post so it won’t work for the Easy Press. Hope that helps!

I’ve never looked into purchasing a circuit before, but am wanting to purchase one for my daughter’s birthday. I have a little time to weigh my options, and look for deals. I’m wondering however is this about the best deal I’ll find on the air 2 within the next month?

  10. Mama2girls

Can someone tell me the difference between this and the silhouette?
    Which one is better?
I’m looking for a machine that doesn’t need a lot of extras (software, cartridges, etc)
    Thanks in advance
I’m been on the fence for years

Received this for Christmas and used it for the first time last night. It is absolutely awesome! Made two sets of shirts for our Disney races this weekend. I didn’t do anything super fancy (still learning), but the shirts look amazing! Please keep bringing more deals on iron-on, vinyl and accessories!
*Note – vinyl is kinda expensive and excluded from sales at Michael’s, Joann’s, etc. I was surprised at how little actually came on the roll for the price.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You bet! Super glad you have been enjoying your cricut!! Thanks for sharing!

  12. Vanessa

I live in Houston and buy my vinyl in our warehouse district on Harwin Street. The cost and variety are much better than Joanns, Michael’s or Hobby Lobby.

  13. Toni

Has anyone purchased a cricut maker? I have one sitting unopened that I bought myself for Christmas because it is too hard to find cool shirts for my 6 daughters and I that match, and we all have unique names so it is up to me to personalize our stuff…is it better to chose the other machines?

  14. Tiffany F.

Don’t forget the 2% back at Ebates for Cricut.com and if you happen to be replacing an old machine with a new one, you can call them up and get a code for $50 off a new machine and free shipping! You can’t stack the $50 code with any other code but in a lot of cases it works out better over all 🙂
