I’ve been on the FREESTYLE program now for 1 month today and I am happy to say that I’ve lost 11.5 pound – I absolutely LOVE this program. Being that I started right here during the Holiday season I thought it would be a slow, difficult process – but it’s been so easy to manage and the fact that there are over 200 ZERO point foods (whoohoo) you can’t go wrong – and best of all I can have WINE ☺ !
I just joined WW and LOVE it. There are so many 0 point foods and the app makes it so easy, you can look up food and scan barcodes to track. It takes out All the guesswork. I just joined and I love 6.2 lbs my FIRST week. I cannot remember the last time I was able to lose weight. Seriously, do not think just try it.
We have several members in our family in WW. My son has lost 30 pounds, daughter in law has lost 85 pounds since January 2017, her mother has lost more than 50 pounds and I myself have lost 34 pounds since April. I would recommend this program to anyone wishing to get healthy!
I signed up last week and am down 2 lbs in my first week! It might not seem like much, but this is a BIG accomplishment for me!
Congratulations. Keep it up.
That’s awesome, LC! Thanks for sharing!
2 pounds is great! Keep going!
I signed up 1 week ago yesterday and I am down 6.8 lbs. This program is not rocket science, and not very hard to do, especially with the app and tracking your food. I weigh myself bi-weekly to stay on task and track all of my food and drink. I have still had 3 glasses of wine in that week, 1 small bowl of Halo ice cream, fairly normal dinners, and a lot of healthy food that is easy to eat like fruits, veggies, chicken, turkey, beans, etc…I know this was a big week for the weight loss and I am guessing it will slow down now that my body is beginning to adjust to the new normal. It has definitely made me more aware of portion sizes and cutting out my regular soda and sugary sweets that I snack on all day usually. I think about everything I put in my mouth now. If you have been contemplating this program…definitely give it a try!
Thanks for the recommendation, MandaKay! Sounds like you are doing great! 🙂
I signed up last Saturday. I am loving it so far. I’ve been on the old WW before, but the new plan is great. I am working it with clean eating (due to autoimmune issues) and no fat-free or low-fat, fake sugar, etc. foods. It is easy to adapt to whatever your lifestyle of eating is and whatever foods/drinks you really want to keep in your diet…you can work it in. I signed up for the meetings + online for 3 months and if I lose 10 pounds in 2 months I get 2 months free or a refund for 2 months. That’s a great goal for me..it’s helping my motivation for sure. I cheated and weighed at home and have lost 6 pounds. I will weigh at WW on Saturday and will be grateful for any loss really. I don’t expect that each week. ha. Good luck to everyone who is on the plan. 🙂
Wasn’t this program less expensive last week? I meant to drop sign up and forgot! With the two months free, I think it was like less than $15 a month? That was well worth it but now that’s it’s more expensive, I’m contemplating…
I signed up last week. It was actually more for me. $44 for 3 months, but if you lost 10lbs they would give you the first two months free, that’s what brought it down to $15 something
I have never done WW before and tended to be a junk food junkie. I am only on day two now, but I like it so far and am already adjusting my eating habits to make the most out of this program. I can’t say it’s easy yet, but do think it’s very doable, and definitely simple enough to understand and very easy to use the app. It will probably become a lot easier once adjusted to the new way of eating, but it is definitely a lifestyle change. Don’t be afraid to give it a try.
Oh awesome! Great you have been enjoying the program so far!! Thanks for sharing with us!
For the free style program are you weighing and measuring everything?how complicated is it.
Its not bad, theres a lot of stuff that has zero points (low calorie meat and veggies and fruits) the app has a barecode scanner so you can just scan packages or type what it is in and then u just eat the serving size…..
I would love to do this but always hesitate. Is there a lot of special cooking involved? Do you need to make special recipes. I’m not the best cook & hate to grocery shop but need to make a change. Any advice?
You will have to take time to do some research on your own of what recipes will fit your lifestyle and what you like to eat. Otherwise if you pick a cereal bar that has a lot of points values, you will be hungry. You have to be smart about eating the 0 point foods and save your actual points for the extras. Grocery shopping is a must. They don’t provide you with any meals for the price of $20 a month; but that’s why I love it. It’s teaching me what foods have a better nutritional value against other foods. It’s definitely a learning process. But isn’t any weight loss process a learning process?
I find grocery shopping long being on ww because I scan barecodes on what I buy so I’m getting low point items (though I learned low fat and low sodium are what I mostly want)but if u can cook basic things (chicken, fish, ground turkey and veggies) you’ll be fine. I don’t follow any weight watchers recipes but there are ones online, they are simple looking.
I find it easier if I cook myself but you can work around it. Just scan the barcodes if you prefer frozen and they have restaurants on the app that they have points figured out. I always recommend Skinnytaste.com , so far all of her recipes that I’ve tried have been really good and she has the smart points already figured out per serving so I’m a big fan of that site. Also Drizzlemeskinny.com and Emilybitedblog.com those are just a few I’ve used before that have the SP figured out to make it easier
I’m only a day in but I’m really loving this. For everyone worried it’s complicated (I was too, I don’t have a scale nor do I have any interest in weighing food lol) it really couldn’t be simpler. There’s an app where you just plug in whatever you eat and they track it for you and tell you how many points you have left- even fast food is on there. There’s also a lot of zero calorie foods (like bananas) so you won’t starve if you run out of points. It’s kinda like a game figuring out how to beat use your points but at the same time has you making healthier choices to save points for later.
How cool! Good to know how easy it can be to track your points! Thanks for the helpful tips!
I really want to do this but I am trying to understand how u know how many points u get to start with
And over time do the points change and how u know what foods to eat and how many points the food is
Heavier you are the more points you have (so u don’t starve) when you lose weight u get a lil less points (mines only dropped by 1-2 points at a time) I find it very doable to find items to eat and I’m not hungry.
They tell you how many point once you sign up. Amount of points is based on weight, height, activity level. Once you start losing weight your points will drop because you won’t need as many calories. Points really don’t drop by much though.
Hey there, when you sign up for Weight Watchers they ask you a couple of questions (age, weight, height, etc) and that determines the amount of points you get. I started out with 38 points but lost weight my first week so I was brought down to 23 points. I have the app and am able to enter a food or whatever and it tells me the amount of points. I’ve learned that zero point items (veggies, fruits, fish and skinless chicken) are my friend. I load up on zero points and use my points on things like rice, steak, treats. Am always on the run so I try to always have veggies or fruits on hand. Am not hungry but you do have to plan ahead.
Sorry I meant to say 28 points and now am down to 23 points but you also get 35 extra points for the week. So for example on Saturday nights my family eats out or order in so I save my extra weekly points to be able to eat a little more with the family. Am so excited about this! So far the best investment ever!
Thanks for all the helpful replies 🙂
I love the FreeStyle program. It’s much better then the previous programs
I’ve tried several lol. In December I made up my mind to join weight watchers. I joined with my friend Addie. It’s great when you have a friend join with you. My first week I lost 5.8 lbs. The app is easy to use and I love the scanning bar code
If anyone, is wondering if they should join I say give it a try for one month.
Good luck.
Can I sign up to get the offer but not actually “start” my official three months until my first meeting?
Is the freestyle available with the online membership?
I signed up online and paid $148 for the 3 month, no starter fee , unlimited meetings just last week and found out another person in my class called and only paid $102. The woman signing me in also noted she had seen around 3 or 4 of us that paid that much and if we had walked in off the street to sign up it would have only been $112.
I called WW and she kept telling me it must have been a different plan…but it wasn’t. Very disappointed. I’ve got a long way to go so it is going to cost me a lot of money and to know that some are paying less is very discouraging. I’m certainly now overflowing in money so every little bit helps. They mentioned franchises but I thought franchises followed what corporate set.
I know there are always sales like this one where one may have signed up and then another better deal comes along. But different sale prices for the same thing during the same sale time just isn’t right. All they could say was it was for a different program but it wasn’t.
Does anyone know of a discount on the weigh watchers “total plan” ( all 3 things they offer – personal coach + meetings + online access) ?
Thanks in advance! 🙂
