My kids had this. Most of the “play food” is just cardboard boxes. The quality of the play food is pretty bad but the basket is cute.

I agree with the boxes comment. You can just tape up empty boxes you use and let the kids play with that. Free “box food”! Plus keep in mind you having to fight with your kids or pick all this stuff up yourself! Sometimes toys like this aren’t worth all the time cleaning up! Time is money when you think about it.

We use our actual food container recycling for their “playfood” Our yogurt container, the honey bear, my empty spice containers like cinnamon, cream cheese box taped. Another favorite are the sushi trays we get from takeout. For the playfood we buy the wooden stuff on sale. Although when they were really little threw things this didn’t work so well;)
