THANK YOU I saw this in passing but didn’t bother to ask why. Seemed too good to be true like the products were expiring soon and was only selecte items maybe. Boy was I wrong! Going out of business? One of ours has an Annie’s pretzels and another has a car rental. I wonder what they will turn into.

We were in Walmart to get some things, including checking out the toy clearance, and saw this on the way out. Found shampoo my MIL had been wanting and got some for myself and some ridiculously expensive curl spray that will hopefully work on my toddler’s hair. Beautiful curls, but I’m already spending like $10-15 a bottle on hair products to manage it! I asked the clerk about it and she said the locations in our town are all closing the salons and she was blindsided by it. I felt bad she was going to be out of a job.

wow didnt know walmart had a salon

One by me had this going on last week and they were almost totally wiped out then. A lot of single or double items but not 3 of a kind. :/

They’re probably going out of business because they butcher people. Last time I went i. There i asked for them to cut off 2 inches, they cut off 6!!! I was horrified.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh wow! I’m so sorry you had a bad experience there! Thanks for the honest feedback!

    • Samantha

Sooooo. That has NOTHING to do with a product sale just a normal clearance sale. Does a clearance sale at Target or Bath and Body Work mean they are closing the doors? NOPE!!! The only way a stylist learns is if you go back a politely let them know it is not the cut for you or there is a mistake. Communication is key and if you can talk it out you will find a phenomenal hair stylist!

Sometimes people want experienced hair stylists they jive with. If a stylist is having a bad day or just sucks then please stay out of my area code and grace someone else.

        • Samantha

I think we should tell every fast food worker, customer service worker, business worker, skill/trade worker…YES everyone that screws up something to stay out of out zip code! 🤣😂😅

No one is allowed a bad day or grace apparently. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve been a licensed Cosmetologist for 25 years. There is no way to confuse 2 inches or 6 inches!

        • Gigi

I agree Starla! That can’t be chalked up to a bad day. If someone can’t give a simple haircut, they shouldn’t be a hairdresser. Having 6 inches off instead of two will take a long time to grow back. There is no grace for that.

Is there any way to find one near you and that has the clearance?

      • v

This link is an article from 2016. Thanks anyway.

    • Samantha

No, but a client can definitely over exaggerate how many inches were taken off. A stylist can show a measuring comb and a client can show exactly where she would like it to be at. I as well have been a stylist for many years and can say it comes down to communication most of time.

It’s a great deal, but I’m sad to see them go. The one I frequent has great stylists who are good and patient! I’ve seen them calmly talk to people who were struggling to communicate and hold the hands of elderly people to help them get in the chairs. They’re just genuinely good people! Also, they rent space from Walmart, but they aren’t actually Walmart salons. I don’t think you can use the regular Walmart price checking methods. 😊

  9. Rachel

I don’t think the salon at my wm is closing and it has been buy 1, get two free all month. Great deals!

  10. Lindsey

I work for WM and these hair salons just lease the space and yes they are closing down majority of the hair salons across the country. Everything was buy 1 get 2 free. But may have now changed to buy 1 get 3 free bc they are closing the end of the month…I got so many products including Chi straighteners!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

So glad you were able to get some great deals, Lindsey!

How do you find out if your local Walmart salon going out of business? Do you just call or do they advertise it buy 1 get 3 sale?

  12. Keesh

    My store was sold out

  13. Keesh

    My store was all gone

  14. FruitA

This is a surprise. Didn’t know they had these products.

I’ve gotten my haircut at Walmart salons numerous times for just a quick stop in an cut, when I didn’t want to go make an appointment at my regular stylist. Only one time I didn’t like how they cut it. Not my favorite salon but they do okay for just a simple trim or something
