IKEA Delivery Fee Lowered To Only $29 Flat Rate No Matter How Much You Order

Love shopping at IKEA but hate trying to get everything home?

IKEA just announced they have lowered their delivery costs. Delivery now starts at just $29 and can go up to $59 depending on demand and distance your home or business is from your local store.  Previously, delivery started at $99.

Even sweeter, this a flat fee – so whether you order one thing or 100 it’s the same price! That’s a pretty awesome perk! AND your items will be delivered into your home, not just to the curb. For more information click here.

If you’re ordering smaller items online, the delivery fee is now just a flat rate of $9.

    This is so awesome 😍

They have a Click & Collect Service, you order online & they pull it all into a cart for pickup. It is marvelous!!! I was in and out in 10min & no IKEA maze😜 Highly recommend!

That sounds awesome! I so wish we had an IKEA closer than 3 hours away.

Lucky! They don’t have that option for Houston

This is awesome!!! The fee for our area used to be a minimum of $360 – which was usually more than the items we were hoping to order! Even at $59 that is cheaper than the money we would spend on gas getting to the closest store.

We did place an order when they had free shipping a few months ago and we were impressed with how wonderful their delivery was! Everything came to us perfectly and the guys brought the items into the house for us (just inside the door – but better than curbside).

:/ still too much with all the shipping offers most companies offer. My nearest store is about an hour and 45 mins away. I like stuff from there but I rarely feel like driving that far w my limited time. If I were redoing a huge area this might be worth it

I am not surprised they lowered their rate. Ikea delivery in my area is horrible. We recently bought an entire kitchen from there and hired a contractor to assemble the cabinets. Bought Sunday to deliver on Thursday. No call the day before delivery , I called day of delivery and was told 5pm to 9pm. When no one had called again or made the delivery by 8:40pm, I called, was given phone number of the delivery vendor who couldn’t explain why it wasn’t delivered, the truck had gone back to the lot and that it had to go back to Ikea to be rescheduled and be delivered Monday. After spending all Friday morning on the phone with my local store, I was able to get delivery that evening around 9:30pm. While they waived the delivery fee and gave us a $25 GC, no one could explain why the cabinets weren’t delivered as scheduled. Fast forward to last week, a young girl called trying to schedule the delivery. I was like “those cabinets are already hanging on the wall”. Very disorganized and very “not Ikea like”.

This could be a real bargain if you are buying enough. I can see where some might still think it’s high- and I guess it might be if only buying a piece or two. We did a whole kitchen in Ikea and paid $179 for shipping for a whole kitchen worth of cabinets and one appliance. (Our nearest Ikea is about an hour away.) This would make it even cheaper for people doing a whole kitchen or buying their closet system.

Surely gas runs you less than $179 for a 2 hour drive? But if you’ve got it like that good for you and your family.

      • nancy

Is it really necessary to be snarky? She likely meant that the $179 was a good deal considering she had an entire kitchen worth of cabinets delivered. If you add up the costs of renting of a truck that would fit the cabinets, time, manpower and effort to load the vehicle, driving, and unloading at your home then yes $179 is a good deal.

      • Amanda

Or they don’t have a vehicle that would fit their whole order…

  8. kim

    This is awesome news!!

    • Tia

I agree! I don’t need anything right now, but when I do Ikea will be back on the list.

  9. Sunny

Yay…I wanted to get something and didn’t want to pay the high delivery fee. Now I can! Thanks!

Last year I could barely fit a dresser in my small car. I love this new cost! I would rather have someone deliver it to me than to break my back trying to get it out of my car.

DON’T ORDER FROM IKEA OR GET DELIVERY! Ordered online over $800 in stuff and paid for delivery. Took a half day off work to be here for their 4 hour delivery window. They are now an hour and 40 minutes past the four hour window and no sign of them and no call. Waited 33 minutes the first time for someone in customer service to answer only to tell me they can’t reach the driver. Now on second call to customer service, it’s been 51 minutes and still no one has answered the phone. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

Folks, I recently completed a delivery for my client from IKEA to their office. I’ve been a courier for near 30 years. Good client, but rarely gets me to do weighty items. I priced the call online for them because of all the details. 560 lbs 17 bxs! I wanted to be fair…checked IKEA $. Was 99 now 39? Really!!! Regardless of how much you have? If the driver is not an IKEA smiling person, I would expect questionable service. Listen…as a knowledgeable courier I offer you this scenario. I got there and was impressed at the service at the counter when I usually go to a loading dock. Delivered in an elevator solo. I charged 90.00. Now you get a guy from a company with or without a van or truck. In any case, hes more costly. More gas! If you’re within the city, 39 would cover the cost with about 50 lbs max and in a decent time frame as requested. Here’s the catch…if he works for someone, he gets about 50% of that. If he has many deliveries from IKEA at the same time then it’s a cargo and route issue. Get an independent courier and hold on to their number. My client did use the IKEA delivery once and the driver huffed and puffed at bringing the boxes past the lobby. If it’s large, most courier expect a ground floor loading dock. Residential addresses don’t have loading docks (normally) so expect delays.

I got excited when I read this. When I plugged in my location info, it calculated $99, not the max of $59.

  14. Kraatz

I am looking to buy a wardrobe and have it shipped to mount gambier area code 5290. How much would the freight cost

  15. Caitlyn

hmmm yeah, I wanted to purchase a $40 laptop desk for them and the delivery fee calculated $199.

  16. TS

Yeah, put a small dresser in my cart and the delivery cost was double the cost of the item. $199… where is the love for my area IKEA?!

  17. Catherine Roussy

We leave in Kapuskasing Ontario! Do you deliver? Looking at purchasing a sectional! Thank you

  18. James Tanner

The delivery for me still says 200$ why is that?
