Does anyone know where I can get reasonably priced sports glasses for my son to play football in?

    • Libby

I get my son’s at Walmart. They are about $70. Our eye doctor charges $200 for the exact same pair! Walmart told me there are only a few manufacturers that make sports glasses so they are all the same essentially. My son’s are rec specs brand which was the same as our eye doctor. I just asked for a copy of his rx and took it to Walmart. I still get his school glasses at our eye doctor due to insurance.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong with the promo code – it took off the cost of the frames, but not the prescription lens. So it’s charging me lens, shipping and handling. Bummer!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh darn! We are still finding this offer available. Be sure you are selecting the Free options on the lenses and choose the Single Vision option. Hope that helps!

      • Michelle Price

It appears that the anti-glare lens upgrade is auto-selecting for $4.95, so as you move through your customization be sure and un-check that box if you do not want to pay for that upgrade. Hope that helps!

Has anyone bought from here before? Is it legit? My prescription is pretty high and wondering if they would even allow me to get some.

    • Kelli

I bought some with the bogo code in December. I don’t love the glasses because the lenses almost look iridescent. I don’t notice it anymore unless I am looking directly at a light or I see it on the lenses when I am looking in the mirror. No one has said anything, but when I pointed it out, my husband noticed. I paid $102 for 2 pairs which is less than half what I would have paid for one pair at walmart. I also have a very high (actually low at -10 & -11) prescription. I wear contacts most of the time and wear glasses when I get home and on the weekends. If these were my every day glasses, I would spend more for better lens quality (but I also ordered some from walmart that appeared the same way), so maybe it is my prescription strength.

  4. angie

I found the same…only taking off half the cost. I emailed customer service with no response yet. Glasses would cost me almost $30

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn! It looks like the anti glare lens upgrade is automatically selected for $4.95 as you go through. Be sure to deselect that option as you go through. Hoping that works better for you!

  5. Jeanie Cook

I’m checking all the free stuff but I’m still being charged for lens too. 🙁

    • Jelly

Choose the “Customize Your Own Package” button, not “Standard.” That will take you to a screen where you can choose “Standard – Free.” Then you may choose Free Anti-Scratch Coating and/or Anti-Reflective Coating for an additional $4.95).

      • Casey

Got it…thank you explaining better…not much options for Large but got the Arcadia

  6. Jelly

I initially had trouble figuring out how to get the price down to free plus shipping and handling fees of $9.90. If you follow the steps I typed in my prior comment, you’ll get the glasses for that price which seems like a great deal!
Here are a more precise step by step description: Choose your frames ($29.95 or cheaper); click on “Select Lens”; choose ur lens type (ex. Single Vision): choose ur usage (ex. Reading); enter ur prescription; choose clear lens; choose “Customize Your Own Package”; choose “Standard” (which is free); next screen shows options for lens coatings so choose the free option of anti-scratch (if don’t want the anti-glare, which is an additional cost, uncheck its box); add to cart & enter ur coupon code.

Thanks a TON for your helpful feedback Jelly! 😉

      • Jelly

Sure thing! I love Hip2Save; lots of excellent tips and deals!

    • Brenda B

Thank you for these details, it worked perfectly (way easier after I switched to my desktop, btw)! I added anti-glare and UV coating, so with shipping, less than $20 for new glasses! Stoked!!!

  7. Elle

Sweet! Needed a temporary pair of glasses to replace the ones I scratched up until I can shell out for a fancy new pair. Thank you!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You’re welcome Elle! Great that you can grab this deal in the mean time!

  8. Maria V

Great timing my son lost his glasses at school

  9. Amalia

I just got my pair and it cost me $23.80 shipped. I selected a $26 frame and when I entered the code it took off the $26 BUT there was a $8.95 processing fee, $4.95 handling fee, $4.95 shipping, and I went ahead and got the $4.95 anti-glare. So it totaled $23.80. I’m still happy for the deal. I use expensive progressives right now and wanted a set of glasses just for distance. Thanks Hip2Save 🙂

  10. Krista A.

When I put in the code it doesn’t drop the price down…. Has anyone ordered kids glasses and it worked?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi there! Be sure to grab from the selection offered when clicking through the link above. Hope that helps!

  11. Sarah

Anyone have any experience with this company? Hubby needs new glasses but his eyes are real bad! We pay extra for thin lenses as he needs trifocals. And he wants the transition lenses. Last time we got him glasses at pearl Vision they had a bogo deal and it still cost us $600! 😮😮

    • Andrea U

Usually as soon as put my prescription in, it a “no deal” – the deals never include the extra expensive thin lenses – no problem, I refuse to wear coke bottoms. Glad I am going to get lasik!

  12. Susan Stauffer

So you don’t have to upload your prescription? Or prove that you have a prescription? And how do you get them fitted once they come in the mail? I”ve always seen the cheap eyeglass deals online, but I’ve been hesitant to try them.

  13. Shari M

I have purchased from this company and had very good luck I’m pre get when I ended up paying at the time I want to say 14 something all together however I am very pleased I love the glasses I got and they’re actually my favorite frames unfortunately I would like to get another pair but they’re out of stock

  14. Dawn1029

I had a hard time getting the code to work so I contacted customer service and the girl was RUDE. I’ll stick to Zenni 🙁

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I’m so sorry you had a poor experience! Thank you for the honest feedback.

  15. Guggie Daly

Doesn’t seem to apply to children’s glasses.

  16. Arham

Great deal. When I’m applying the coupon this is what I have:
    Sub-total: $28.90
    Applied Coupon: -$19.95
    Handling Fee: $4.95
    Total:$13.90

    Under frames it’s adding Processing Fee: $8.95, so 8.95 + 4.95 = $13.90.
What am I doing to add $4 extra?

  17. Peggy

This deal actually is on their site all the time. I ordered a pair a month ago. I paid for tinting so I’d have RX sunglasses. So I paid less than $20 for great glasses (the tint cost + shipping). Great experience. I recommend them.

  18. Arham

Sorry I jumped the gun! It’s actually
    Sub-Total: $28.90
    Applied Coupon: -$19.95
    Handling Fee: $4.95
    Total Shipping: $4.95
    Total: $18.85

So Processing Fee of $8.95 seems to be the issue. An clue how to get rid of it?

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Arham, did you un-check the box for anti-glare coating? That will add an additional charge.

  19. kimmie

Off topic…..Anyone know of a good place to get prescription sunglasses?

    • Peggy

Hey kimmie, as I mentioned above. I bought RX sunglasses from this site using this deal. Worked out great. Got a pair under $20 shipped and I really like them.

  20. nin

Ditto Arham above. My total is $13.90 and it appears to be the $8.95 processing fee. I have unchecked the $4.95 box so it is charging me the shipping plus the processing fee. Anyone else get that gone?

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

So sorry you aren’t able to get it down to the $9.90 cost. Could it possibly be that shipping is higher to your location?

      • nin

Thanks for tip Holly- no idea it was $4.95 shipping plus $8.95 processing fee=$13.90. No clue what I did wrong

  21. Shawny

If you are looking for cheap glasses, Zenni is the way to go! I always get my glasses from there and everyone comments on how great they look lol.
