Need a beach vacation?!🏖

Several travel booking sites such as ExpediaPriceline, Hotwire and Orbitz are offering up HOT deals on travel to Florida from various US cities with travel dates throughout 2018 and in to January 2019. If you are traveling in May, there are some really HOT deals for non-stop round trip flights!

As one idea, I spotted tickets from Chicago, IL to Fort Lauderdale, FL for only $118 round trip!

Hip Tip: To get the best prices, head here and use Google Flight Search to find the lowest priced days for travel. Just enter your to/from destinations and click on the calendar icon to select your flight dates. The prices listed in green are the lowest prices. Make note of those dates, but don’t purchase tickets on Google. Instead, head over to ExpediaPriceline, Hotwire or Orbitz to book your flights on those low fare days.

Check out these deals I spotted:
  • Chicago, IL to Fort Lauderdale, FL $118 Round trip
  • New Orleans, LA to Fort Lauderdale, FL $125 Round trip
  • Boston, MA to Fort Lauderdale, FL $127 Round trip
  • New York, NY to Ft. Lauderdale, FL $137 Round trip
  • Denver, CO to Fort Lauderdale, FL $187 Round trip
  • Austin, TX to Ft. Lauderdale, FL $197 Round trip

Is there any advantage to booking through Expedia, Orbitz, Hotwire, etc, compared to just booking the airline ticket through the airline?

    • Lisa

Our experience, is that not all flights scheduled are listed on Expedia, so we generally end up looking on both Expedia and on the airlines’ websites.

    • Michele

Sometimes. I always check Expedia because they will mix and match airlines/ flights together which can make for a better deal. So you may fly out on one airline but fly back on a different one. It also gives you more flight time options when they mix the airlines.

The brave teenage survivors of MSD High are calling for a boycott of tourism to FL. I guess there’s already a scramble to fill flights.

    • Sue

Sorry heading to Florida, I’m not having a teenager telling me what to do. Remember they are young adults and think they know everything. Remember when you were a teenager???

So in your advanced years, you’ve learned to ignore the viewpoints of other people just because of their age? How very wise of you.

Interesting, google flights says that Allegiant has the cheapest flight from my location to Fort Lauderdale but when I check the sites that you suggest Allegiant doesn’t show up. A great deal though if I were to book through Allegiant.

Allegiant is horrible. They charged my friend $150 in checked bag fees…it was 6lbs over their limit on the way there, and under on the way back!

Pay attention to fees, checked bag charges, and ensure you aren’t booking in basic economy class without knowing it. You don’t get hardly anything (seat selection, carry on, etc) on some basic economy tickets.
