Can these be used on White boards? Do you erase with an eraser as usual or do you need to use something else?

    • Heather

I’ve only used these with chalkboards, so I don’t know how they’d work on a white board, but I’d advise against it. They do not erase like chalk does–you need a wet rag and a lot of elbow grease once the writing has dried! They work great, though.

    Thank you Heather.

Found these at dollar tree if you just need one… works well 🙂

      Thanks for the helpful tip!

I got these for Christmas, I thought they would be great, but they do not erase! I second the comment, that they do not erase. I tried everything, to get the white one to erase! I will have to repaint my chalkboard.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh no! SO sorry to hear that! Thanks for the warning!

  5. Katrina

These do write beautifully, but they do not erase! Buyer beware! Ruined my chalkboard, too!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Bummer! Thanks for sharing your experience Katrina! Thanks a bunch for the heads up!

I have some liquid chalk markers and they do NOT wash off the chalkboard with just a wet rag. I was soo annoyed, I thought I had stained the board I had just sprayed. Anyway, after googling around, found that Mr Clean Magic Eraser does the trick! Then lightly go over the surface with a rag dipped in vinegar.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Awesome tip Mel! Thanks for sharing with us how you were able to erase these from your chalk board!

  7. Raea

Where do I buy the chalkboards to make signs ? Thank you

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Raea! I have found many sizes of chalk boards at my local Michael’s, Hobby Lobby and even Walmart. You can even grab a can of chalk board paint from Lowe’s and make any surface into a chalk board. I have painted a wall in our basement before. The kids loved it! Good luck!

  8. Jean

Girl, use a Magic Eraser! It will take it off fairly easily. If you want chalkboards to make signs, consider cutting plywood to the shape and size you want and painting it with chalkboard paint. We did this at work and they are fabulous!

    • Raea

Thank you jean. Yes brilliant! I’ve seen the paint before.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Awesome Idea to use plywood and chalkboard paint, Jean!!

  9. Keesh

I made the mistake and used it on my white board it did not come off no matter what I used I had to throw it away.

  10. Melissa

I agree these are awesome but VERY hard to clean up after you’re done, I used a lot of scrubbing and a little rubbing alcohol and it worked well for me hope that helps 🙂

    Thanks
