Hey y’all! I am currently pregnant with my third baby and I was recently introduced to Baby Box University. Baby Box University has a goal of reducing infant mortality and empowering parents. They have a collection of videos that you watch ranging from 30 seconds – 2 minutes long with subjects from safe sleeping practices with a newborn to bonding to breastfeeding support. Even though this is my third baby, I learned a lot and really enjoyed watching the videos. Once you watch all the videos (I had less than 20), you take a quick quiz about what you learned and then they ship you a box that is safe for a newborn to sleep in, complete with a mattress and inside the box is a variety of samples! Who doesn’t love samples!?
My samples included Diaper Doo diaper rash cream, Dove Men+Care deodorant, Dove Men+Care body wash, Dove Men+Care shampoo, Dove Baby Wipes (30 count), Seventh Generation laundry packs, Lansinoh disposable breast pads, Lansinoh breast milk bags, Dove Baby Wash, Dove Body Wash, Seventh Generation coupons (woohoo!), plus an assortment of random coupons. I did this the other day. I’m in the upstate of South Carolina. I won’t send it to me but I could pick it up in Gastonia, NC. Just a heads up for those in my area to not waste your time.

I got one for my 7 week old. I’m in Minnesota. There was an option to pick it up at a drug store in the nearest town or have it shipped to me for $3.

I had tried this once when I was pregnant but it wasn’t available for my area. This time it was available for pickup at a local drugstore in 4-6 weeks! I don’t think my baby will fit in the box by the time it arrives, but I can use it for keepsakes and look forward to the samples!

Thank you for sharing this! Just completed watching the videos and taking the quiz. It took around 20 minutes or so to watch all the videos, but they were interesting and informative. I chose to have the baby box shipped rather than pick up. The shipping cost was $3.00. Seems very much worth it.

Danielle, there was an option to have it shipped after I took the quiz. It was right under the pick-up option. You just checked which option you wanted. Not sure if every state gets the same options though. I live in Ohio. Hope that helps.

Well that was a waste of my time. I don’t get why they ask for your zip code, if once I complete the entire thing, they give me a pickup location that’s 1.5 HOURS from me..

Yeah this would be great and since I’m in NC I thought I would qualify. I did all the videos and passed the course only to find out they wont ship the box (even I offered to pay for shipping) and the only pick-up place in my state is 6 hours from me. So very disappointed. :/

I completed the quiz and chose to pay $3 for shipping it to me. That’s really a fair price to pay IMO. My youngest is 2 but I plan to donate this to a foster family that has a newborn

Thanks H2S! Just watched the 18, very informative video’s, completed the 5 question quiz and requested my box. All in about a half hour. I live in Cleveland Ohio. There was an option to pick up my box at a location 15 min away or pay $3 for shipping. I opted to pay for shipping. Box is supposed to arrive in 2-4 weeks, which is perfect because I’m due in 5. I am already a mom to a 3 year old and thought the video offered some good information I didn’t know before.

One tip…. you don’t have to watch the videos; as long as you open the transcript and read it, the site will count each one as if you watched it and will let you take the quiz.
I tried this a few weeks ago, all my local resource centers listed on the Baby Box University in NorCal were out of stock on the boxes, a few I called hadn’t had any boxes in stock for over a year! I don’t think they update the website list too often, unfortunately….
A family friend is having a baby so I went through and did it for her. I noticed that you dont have to watch through the videos. If you should slide your cursor to speed through video, it will do that same. And the quiz were all common sense questions. So its not like you had to pay attention. Was able to ship it to her for the 3 dollars. 🙂
I just found out today that I am pregnant with baby #3. I just clicked on each video (only watched 2 of them completely) and took a common sense quiz at the end. My box is on it’s way for $3. I am not sure if I will use the box bed, but my 6 year old daughter will love it as a gift for all of her babies. Thanks for posting this!

My husband and I did this back in November (Alabama) and even the shipping was free. We actually used the box to help transition our little guy from his swing to a flat surface and it was amazing! He loved the baby box. I also think that the videos you watch are very informative and a good resource for new parents like we were. Highly recommend getting this box if it’s available to you.

Same thing for me. Then I checked the link that someone posted up above in the comments and there are only two locations in all of FL (neither one is anywhere near me at all). I am not sure why they ask for your zip code and say something to the effect of “great! our program is available in your area” when that is not the case. I would gladly pay the $3.00 for shipping but that wasn’t an option for me.

Hi, I just watched all of the helpful videos for the baby box university, took the quiz afterwards, & passed it. I know where to go to pick it up, but my computer is broken, so I couldn’t print my certificate that I need to bring with me to pick it up @ a local hospital. It looks like there are two pick up locations in FL…Vero Beach & (I believe) Ft. Lauderdale. I’m in Jax so neither works and I wasn’t given the option to pay for shipping. Bummer!!
So glad I read this. I am not driving an hour and a half. The closest location near me is Largo, FL. With the snowbird traffic it might be 3 hours. Would have rather paid to ship.

Thanks for the post! My first grandchild will be born in July and I got so excited when I saw this. I actually even learned some interesting things. I guess you never stop learning! 🙂 It took about 20 min. and the quiz was easy. I’m in TX so it was nice to have the free shipping and to not have to drive to Fort Worth. I can’t wait to get it and give it to my son and his wife. I love this idea of a baby box!!

I picked Mann up today at the local hospital where I had actually given birth. It was a larger box and I expected and had a pillow like mattress in it with a cover. It had a blue zippered bag with samples. They were mostly for personal hygiene for the mother and not the baby. I just picked mine up at Walgreens today! The box is comes in is really big, I was surprised when they brought it from the back lol. My baby still fits in the box but I think I will use it for playtime and then as storage. The mattress is comes with is nice and my sample bag came with a pack of dove baby wipes, dove men’s items, some coupons, and a bunch of other little samples. Thanks again! The box is so cute!!
