Have a ToysRUs Gift Card? Read THIS & Redeem Soon
In the wake of the news that all ToysRUs & BabiesRUs locations are closing, ToysRUs spokesperson Taylor O’Donnell announced today that gift cards will only be honored for 30 days. While they did not give an exact date, this should be around April 15th.

If you have rewards r us you can convert your current points to rewards cash as long as you shave at least 125 points. Just go to ypur rewards account and under your balance it should give you the option to redeem. I had over 500 and converted this to $20 which I used on line. Not sure when the rewards will stop so I would cash in what you can as soon as possible.

Hi Melissa, Do you know if points can be redeemed when there is a pending balance? I don’t see the option to redeem points at all, but I do see that my points will be posted up to 15 days from my last purchase. I have $30+ in rewards pending.

My store said they are starting liquidation next Thursday and that you have to make all returns and exchanges before then
I was able to return something without a receipt yesterday with no problem, but I’d say move quickly
My store had a sign up today stating they are only taking returns through the 21st
I was in store today. The cs suggested I use my gift cards then. They could change the 30 days at any time. She also told me that as long as you have your receipt for purchases made before liquidation you should be able to return it. After liquidation starts, all sales will be final. Until then, it’s sales as normal.
Yep. I went and used up all my gift cards today.
I had $20 reward credit and I ran out and used it yesterday! It’s sad to see them close, but honestly, my customer experience was so poor, it doesn’t surprise me. I waited 30 minutes for an order pickup of a Teether that was allegedly ready hours before. 🤷🏻♀️
I decided last week to sell my TRU giftcard on Raise.com because I didn’t think I would use it anytime soon. Thank God I did since all this came out !!!

Pretywen- usually you can get cash back if you have the reciept only thru a claim process not thru the store. Unsure if that happens after liquidation begins, which one poster said starts next thursday or if you process ypur claims after the 30 days that toys r us warned to use your cards. Gift cards are considerd unsecured debt and customers are the least important when it comes to liquidation and what the owed lenders and banks want from the company.

rumor has it that the stores will just be locked and the inventory sold at wholesale. my local store has been liquidating since the last announcement and prices are now just getting lower than walmarts regular price.
Yup, used my GC a couple days ago – I was anxiously waiting for everything to ship!
Did you ever get your stuff? I used a gc to buy a nerf item and two days before it is supposed to be on my porch they send a msg saying shipping is held up indefinitely and they are not sure when they will have in stock and if they don’t by May I will have my money returned, except my money is in the form of a gc which will no longer even be valid. Bye bye $25!
We went to ToysRUs in TN and they said you can only use your gift cards/rewards points through this coming Wednesday. Almost nothing is discounted in the store so I’m assuming they’re going to start heavily discounting Thursday on.
My local babies r us is almost completely wiped out. And all sales final. The toys r us is still full price.

Make sure you check balances on cards – I had one with $7.00 and change and when I went to use it wouldn’t scan. So the cashier asked how much is on it and I told $7 maybe a little more. Next thing I knew she took $7 off my purchase – wasn’t going to argue but I lost out some change for sure.
One Tru is now saying till wed as well. That Thursday forward no gift cards or rewards
If you have a GC, don’t hold it and wait for liquidation. The stores are getting more empty, not because of slashing prices but because everyone is redeeming their GC’s. I went in over the weekend with empty shelves on items that were still at full price, so if you hold your GC its slim pickings. There is no signage anywhere in the store. Everything is still full price but shelves are getting emptied. Its crazy!
My store in Albuquerque, NM will only use gift cards through 3/21/2018. I checked today. Nothing was on sale. No returns after 3/21 as well.
I went last night to my Babies R Us store to use my gift card, they will not be accepting them once the markdowns start. They are starting on Thursday the 22 I believe at least around here in Florence KY.

According to my store, liquidation starts this Thursday. They told me to use my gift cards ASAP because they aren’t sure if they are accepting them once liquidation starts. 🙁

I have a return to make and just called to see when I should do that by. The lady that answered paused and said in a really sad voice “tomorrow” It made me so sad! All these people losing their jobs.
