Are these really a great deal? I just keep thinking of how cheap the scissors get at back to school time.

Advice from a teacher, westcott scissors DO break! Fiskars have a lifetime guarantee!

Please don’t buy teachers school supplies for students. Not a great gift idea for a teacher:(
A nice thank you note for teaching the children is much more valued.

Ordered these last time they were posted and gave it as a gift for my son’s preschool/kindergarten teacher and she LOVED it. Other staff were asking me about them. Thank you.

Seriously? Our teachers love and appreciate everything given to them. If it saves them from purchasing out of their own pockets, they’re so grateful.

Our teachers actually ask for them. At the beginning of the year, or near teacher appreciation day, the PTA sends each teacher a sheet of paper. On it, it asks what their favorite things are in different categories. Then there is a section of what would they would like the most. Almost always they are requesting things for their classrooms. Reams of paper, glue sticks, scissors, pens, etc. I tend to always get a few different things that they requested, as well as a small little plant and a card from my kiddo.

As a teacher I love getting things for my students. It’s less I have to spend out of my pocket and the kids enjoy the gifts too!! Win win

I bought these last time and they’re great for my kids..and I’m thinking of buying two more for my kids’ class for next year. I say they’re great for the classroom..but these scissors or other school supplies shouldn’t be given to teachers as gifts as they certainly wouldn’t enjoy these for themselves. 🙂

I agree. Teachers don’t need these for themselves. Kind of like giving bandaids to a nurse as a gift:)

    • Alicia9001

There is a BIG difference with this. A lot of school supplies are at the teachers expense, where nurses have everything provided by clinics and hospitals. My sons school is always asking for donations for school supplies!

I am a teacher and I would LOVE to get these as a gift. This would keep me from having to buy them out of my own pocket and ANY gift is a thoughtful one!

I am a teacher and we have a great budget, everything is provided by the school and we don’t need to buy these things for our class with our own money. Guess that is lucky:) I would not want these for myself, since they are for the kids.

    • Carmen

You are very lucky. Our budget barely covers copy paper and curriculum. Yeah, I’ll say it again–you’re very lucky.

      • Katie

I agree. Our teachers didn’t even have crayons this year. All the parents pitched in to buy supplies this year. Our governor doesn’t think spending the money on the schools is an appropriate way to spend all our tax dollars.

donation is great! Not a gift, totally different. I think every teacher will take donations and be grateful.

Can the individual cups be taken off? If we wanted to put one cup of scissors at four different tables?

  11. Yazzay

I bought these the last time they were offered and absolutely LOVE them!

I bought a ‘blunt-tip’ set for my daughter to use during play dates with friends for their crafting projects, etc. I bought the ‘pointed’ tip set for myself to share with Girlfriends during our vision board parties, for cutting magazine pics, etc.

I also bought an extra blunt-tip set for my daughter’s 3rd grade teacher. I’m making an Springtime gift basket for her which will include these scissors, a gift card and other items for her to enjoy. In the past, she has stressed to parents that extra school supplies (like scissors, tissues, markers, etc.) are desired and appreciated. Thanks so much, H2S! <3

Thanks for the great feedback, Yazzay! That’s such a fun idea to make a Springtime gift basket – Love that! You are very welcome!

@ Stacy, I can attest that the cups are definitely removable. It’s a nice set. 🙂
