The person with T-Mobile redeems the code and sets up the account and then gives the password to someone else to use online.

The code itself can only be used by the owner of the T mobile phone it was issued to. Only they can set up the MLB account with that offer code. The code alone has no value; The owner can use your email to set it up and then give you the password. You can change it once you have signed in. HTH
PS the owner of the phone just sets up an email and password. They don’t need to fill in the name, address, etc. and can leave that blank
