Dollar Tree shopping is my favorite!

You never know what you are going to find for just $1, so it’s a little bit like a treasure hunt.

This week, I picked out a few of my favorite finds at my local Dollar Tree and then headed straight to Walmart to do a few comparisons.

Ready to get excited to do some Dollar Tree shopping? Here’s what I spotted…

*Compared to similar Disney Body Washes at Walmart priced at $2.78!

3. Handmade Cards

6. Decorative Glass Jars

Glass Jars & Vases

*I think this is probably my favorite find this week. These glass jars can be used as decorations and vases and they come in a lot of different shapes and colors. These remind me so much of something you’d spot at Anthropologie.

7. Himalayan Pink Salt

Himalayan Pink Salt Grinder, 13.4oz
Just $1
*Compared to $1.96 for a SMALL 2.5oz jar of McCormick Himalayan Pink Salt at Walmart. I was super excited about this find too. Hello! That’s five times as much salt for half the price. I call that a deal!

8. e.l.f. Cosmetics

Select e.l.f. Cosmetics, Including Lipstick & Eyebrow Lifter & Filler products
Just $1
*Compared to Walmart’s price of $5 on select varieties! Whoa!

11.  Now and Later Candy Bag

Now and Later Mystery Mix Bag, 18.93oz
Just $1
*This is a big bag of individually wrapped candies. Often Dollar Tree gets ya on select candy and grocery items as they sell smaller sizes, so I was stoked to spot these larger bags of candy! I love tucking these in my kiddos lunches and they are great for movie night snacks too.

12. Home Decor Signs

Home Decor Canvas Sayings
Just $1
*These make great gifts tied up with a sweet note, or grab a few for your own home. I picked out a few to add to one of my bookshelves!

All in all it was a great week to shop at Dollar Tree! I love that I walked out with 42 items for just $42! 🙌

    • Julie

  8. Darla

Just buy the pictures your dollar store is a lot bigger than mine! They don’t carry nearly the stuff that yours does!

  9. moria

While the Dory and Nemo body washes are very cute, I don’t like them. I had to use twice as much as I normally would to get the same lather.

  10. babymair

Hi ladies ,and Collin and team, I have used the plastic tumbler w/straw..,filled them with candy , and put in a cute slim bag ,they have these with most of the major holiday designs too ..Eveyone I gave it to ..loved it ,and asked where I bought it …just an extra gift idea on the cheap ..

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    • Sarah O.

Great idea I might do this for end of the year gifts for teachers, my daughter is in middle school so 7 teachers! Cup from the dollar store and candy should only be about $2 each.

  11. JT777

Nice. Those vases look perfect for my homemade vanilla extracts or hot sauces or for storing infused Olive oil or vinegar.. On another note, beware of that Himalayan salt, bought the same thing once and put it in water to boil once for pasta after I ran out of table salt…and there were a few pieces of plain rocks/pebbles that wouldn’t dissolve aka it wasn’t 100% salt.

  12. Susan Crawford

I like the candles. I will go in there tomorrow and see if I can find them. The Pillsbury sounds good.

My husband calls it the $20 dollar store, because I usually spend that. Haha

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

LOL! I have been known for that too Emily! 😉

  16. Pattyd

Oh I love the dollar tree!! My hubby calls it the 20 dollar tree.
Thanks for pointing out all the good finds

    • Donna

Lol…$20 Tree sounds pretty accurate 🤣

      • marie

I can relate…I walk in there for 1 or 2 items and usually walk out with 10 or 12! All good deals though!!

  17. Joni

I love dollar tree. Last year I spent $20 on summer toys for my grand children ages three and four. Each week I put out a new toy or two-it was a great summer! Good boys loved their treats.

  18. Blueyedturtlelover

I love the glass jars/vases too! Every year when we go on vacation we bring home sand from different beaches, then I come home and transfer the sand to these pretty bottles and label them. They look so nice displayed like this. I originally bought some from Pottery Barn and was very excited to see them at The Dollar Tree!

  19. Jlute838

Our dollar tree (Norwalk, OH) just had Gerber baby puffs and there’s currently $1.00 off of 2 on coupons.com! (1 can of puffs at Walmart retails close to $2.00!)

  20. Jackie

Are the vases too tall to be used as a diffuser jar? I’m planning on making some. Thanks!
