Over $300 for a hair dryer?
WOW!!!
My hair dresser has one and I love it but I can’t bring myself to buy one!!
Does this really dry differently than the $30 ones at Walmart?
Wondering the same thing. Can anyone give a review? I’m honestly not trying to make a joke or be snarky. I’ve been known to splurge on some hair styling products in the past but this seems crazy expensive. Would like to understand what’s special about it.
I used my friend’s while visiting and didn’t think it was anything special. It didn’t dry any faster but it’s heavier than my normal one so I felt like it was more work. I have thick hair that takes forever to dry even at the salon.
I don’t have the dyson one but I do have a professional one that was on sale for just over $100 and there is a big difference between the professional and the low cost dryers. I have thick hair and the cheap hair dryers took forever and my professional dryer is quicker, more temperatures, more powerful and the quicker dry I feel doesn’t leave my hair as frizzy or damaged. Think about when you go to the salon and they dry your hair vs when you use a cheap hotel wall dryer. To me that is the difference.
I had it and returned it, my Babyliss hair dryer was faster and leaves my hair smoother. My hair was quite frizzy with the Dyson.
OMG thank you, thank you, thank you, I was looking all day all stores to see where to get best deal but nothing less then $399. I was just about to order one tonight. Thanks again, you have no idea how happy I am.
You’re so welcome! I hope you love your new hair dryer! 🙂
I have long hair and it takes me for ever to dry. I work at hair salon and use professional dryer but still takes forever. I can’t wait to get it on Tuesday ☺
I got this as a Christmas gift. Even though it was a gift I really wanted to hate it because of the price, but I LOVE it. It cuts drying and styling time down, leaves my hair looking like I came out of the salon. My hair has also finally grown, my hair dresser has even noticed a difference in my hair since I’ve been using it.
I’ve had mine for over 2 years and love it. Bought my boyfriends mom one for Xmas this past year because she loved using mine when they’d come to stay for a visit.
How much time does it save on drying?
Personally, it cut my drying time by about half. Regular blow dryer about 65 minutes, Dyson is about 30-35.
fyi if you’re cool with a refurbished one, buy from dyson’s ebay shop—with the current 20% off code (prep4summer) it comes to about $250 with tax. (search ‘Dyson-HD01-Supersonic-Hair-Dryer-2-Colors-Refurbished’)
I own this, for everyone asking for a review. I have 38 inch long hair, super thick and coarse. It dries it nicely but can take a bit not as long as a cheap dryer though. But my drybar hairdryer is amazing, I dry my hair in 15 mins!!!
So Drybar is better (and cheaper) than Dyson in your experience?
I just go to bed with wet hair. No big deal. Who has time to use a hair dryer?
Same here.
I wish I was that lucky. If I don’t dry my hair the underside would still be damp in the morning and I’d look like Medusa with crazy curls everywhere.
I think with this dryer you’re just paying for the name. I have a Sam Villa dryer that was just under $400 that I love( I’m a hairstylist) but I also use it all day long! However for someone just drying their hair at home I’d go with a Babyliss. Great dryer that won’t break the bank.
Thanks for your commenting because I’ve been looking for a new hair dryer and really wanted the Dyson, but could bring myself to pay that much, even on sale it’s a lot.
