I bet they only have 4 spots or something.
I think that Location and Age play a big part in who they pick (even if you jump though all their hoops of Facebook and blogs and all). I think that they generally try to pick the “younger” more “hip and happening” kind of people who live in larger cities. My sister was chosen to host several years ago. When she moved from Houston, TX to a smaller city, she was no longer selected to host (and she is an Awesome host).
I’ve been picked to do several parties in the past. It has been three years or so since I have been picked, but I think the popularity of the site makes it even harder to be selected. Good luck to those applying!
I have never entered one of these contests before, but I entered both of these. From the other posts it sounds like there is a high probability I won’t be selected. But you never know…. I just hope I don’t get spammed constantly since I had to provide an email address.
