Is anyone else having issues with CVS coupons from the machine? I’ve had it happen twice where I use a coupon for x amount off i.e. $2 off Colgate and then only $1.20 comes off. When I say something to the cashier they just state that is how the system calculates the coupon. I know it isn’t the cashiers fault but it just seems very deceptive to me. If it says $2 off it should be $2 off! And no it wasn’t adjusted down, I still had a balance to pay. Was wondering if I was the only one experiencing this?

Laura, yes, I also have been having issues with the CVS coupons. It makes no sense to me when this happens and I got pretty much the same response from the cashier. They always say they can’t change it and it’s the way it is calculated or something like that. I agree with you . . . whatever the coupon says, that is what should be deducted. I think it might have something to do with using extra care bucks or if the item is on sale. I was at CVS yesterday and went round and round with how my coupons were being deducted and some of the CVS machine coupons would not go through even though I was buying what it said. It was extremely frustrating. I ended up telling them to just void out my entire purchase because it was not a good deal unless all the coupons were taken off for the full amount. I was so upset because I took so much time before making the trip there to figure out the deal using all of my coupons I really don’t totally understand how it is calculated. Colgate was one of the products I also noticed it on. I used to love CVS because of all the good machine coupons and deals. Lately, I just get frustrated with it all.

Same here! When I reached out to customer service over email all they did was send me a PDF of their coupon policy. It just says they can be applied in any order but I’m still not understanding why the amount the coupon states doesn’t come off. Every time I say I’m going to be done with CVS they lure me back in with ExtraCare Bucks!!

I feel the same way as you do……it used to be nice to get such a great SAVINGS with your purchase(s) at CVS. NOT ANYMORE…….my biggest complaint is digital coupons not being applied, so why have us load them, if we can’t use them on the product…..DUH? Then I bought Almay, Physicians Formula, Covergirl & Revlon products & then my $3/$12 off of COSMETICS CRT didn’t even get applied??? What is going on……I’m just about ready to call it quits with CVS overall……why they adjust a coupon down just baffles me, just do the right thing & give me the amount of the coupon you sent to me. There’s way too much DRAMA for me! Just like you I take a lot of time to plan out my trips & make sure I have the right coupon for the right items, & then you get there & it turns into A HOT MESS!!! Hope they change things soon for the better!

I went in the other day and had two coupons I wanted to print at the coupon center and not load to my phone… silly me, right? The coupon center wouldn’t work and they wouldn’t load to my card afterwards (even 30 seconds later) b/c it said they were already being printed, etc. So it messed up the deal I was going into the store for. I called corporate and they gave me a ECB for the amount I lost (luckily) but it wasn’t on a specific department so then I had no motivation to still get that deal… I figured I would save the ECB for something better since I could spend them on anything now.. But it sucks that the coupon center didn’t work and the employee couldn’t figure out why b/c it worked for the customer before me and it gave her a different message when trying her card than it gave me with my card. Rant over! 😉

I guarantee you, if I didn’t have EB to use wisely, I would be done with CVS because of this coupon issue of not taking off the amount on the coupon or not applying coupons sent to my card. Like KathyV, I have had to walk away after spending SO much time in advance to make the deals worth it for us because the employee wouldn’t make it right, even after proving I met the conditions of the coupon. They say they can’t but once in a while I have gotten someone that has done it. Very frustrating. And yes, they do make stuff up as they go. I’ve had that happen on multiple occasions as well.

I just came from CVS and had a horrible time trying to use coupons for the spend $30 get $10 EBs. The cashier stated that CVS changed their coupon policy a couple weeks ago and their computer system has been updated. The new policy she stated is that the total must equal $30 after coupons in order to get the $10. If this is true, shopping CVS is over.

    • AmandaC

The last time I checked you didn’t have to buy all $30 in one transaction so that’s a lie b/c how would the cashier keep up with all of the transactions… They are just making up rules as they go.
