My son is excited to make this as a father’s day gift!
Awesome!
I love doing these with my son, he’s 4 now but we’ve been doing then a while.
How fun Ashley!
My son is 2 almost 3 do you think I can still take him?
We took our kids when they were 1and 2. They needed more help but loved it.
Our daughter is the same age. We’ve been going since December and she loves them. It gives her extra time with Grandpa or Daddy and she will use the hammer once or twice and loves to paint. It gets messy though so dress appropriately!
We went today! Got the windmill and bid house from last month! So awesome 🙂
I have 10 & 11 year old boys. I know the workshop says ages 5 – 12, but is it really for the younger kids? I don’t want my older boys to feel like it’s baby-stuff.
I think it could still be appropriate for them. They’ve added stuff on the website to make it for STEM oriented. They should be able to build it themselves and then do the online activities afterwards.
I’ve taken my grandsons a few times. The projects are definitely not baby stuff. Younger kids especially need adults to help them with the instructions and some of the process. If they are older it is a great opportunity for them to have to read and follow instructions, use the tools, and complete the project.
So cool! My son is still too young but good to know about these things for when he get older.
I’ve even been taking my toddler to these workshops along with the rest of my kids.
This sounds like fun! But I know my son won’t be able to sit there for 3 hours. Can you leave after a certain time?
Yes you can leave when your done with the project! It takes my husband about 20 minutes or so with our 5 and 7year olds!
FYI, You can go anywhere between 9 and 12. It is not a 3 hour project. They have long tables set up with hammers in the middle. You stop by a greeting table where you pick up your prepackaged project and an apron to keep. You sit at the table and open it with your child and read the instructions to build the item. Everybody does their own thing at their own pace. After building, you go over to the paint table where they have brushes and paint and your child paints the project (it can be pretty messy so you don’t want to wear good clothes). Then you set it down and let it dry. When it is dry, you take it home. Be prepared to listen to ALOT of hammering. It is fun for the kids but be prepared to help your child unless they are in the older classification. Enjoy!!!!
There were times when we were In a hurry & didn’t stay to build but picked up our kits & did it at home later.
