- Bertolli Classico Olive Oil, purchased between May 23rd, 2010 and December 30th, 2015

This Kollver vs. Deoleo USA, Inc. Class Action Settlement is the result of a lawsuit that alleges Deoleo marketed and sold its Bertolli brand of olive oil with the representation “Imported from Italy,” although most of the oil was extracted from olives grown in countries other than Italy. The lawsuit also alleges that, with respect to the olive oil labeled “Extra Virgin,” Deoleo’s procurement, bottling, and distribution practices did not adequately ensure that the oil would meet the “extra virgin” standard through the date of retail sale or the “best by” date on the bottles.
Here’s how to get your settlement…
No proof of purchase? That’s okay!
Your household can make a claim for up to FIVE product purchases and will receive a maximum combined recovery of $25 for all claimed purchases without a receipt required.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil purchased May 23rd, 2010 through December 31st, 2015
- Earn $1.75 – $8.75 per product, up to a $25 maximum
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil purchased January 1st, 2016 through April 16th, 2018
- Earn $0.75 – $3.75 per product, up to a $25 maximum
- Classico or Extra Light Olive Oil purchased May 23rd, 2010 through December 31st, 2015
- Earn $1.50 – $7.50 per product, up to a $25 maximum
Do you have proof of purchase?
If you have proof of purchase, there is NO limit on the total amount of items for which you can submit proof of purchase. Proof of purchase means itemized retail sales receipts showing (at a minimum) the name of the product, the date, the place, and the amount of purchase.
Unable to make a claim without proof. How do we go around that?
same here!
Same wonโt let me submit without proof of purchase
Hi Kristy! You will need to wait to submit and then submit within 30 days after the final approval. They will update the final date on the website linked above. I hope this helps!
I buy this olive oil all the time!
Wow I’ve bought a lot of this stuff!
Won’t work??
Same here
Try a different browser? I submitted my claim with no issue on Chrome.
Same here–not working.
All these companies getting caught lying makes my blood boil….Recently Pura Vida sent me an email stating that their bracelets are made by people around the world, not just in Costa Rica, as they lead everyone, including myself, to believe. My translation of that is: Made in China, you fell for it chump…. You try to do good things for your health and the less fortunate though your purchases only to find out that you didn’t accomplish those things because the companies you chose to do business with weren’t being honest. Makes me wonder if shoes really are being given away because of my over priced canvas shoe purchase, etc. or if I’ll find out one day that all those promises made were manipulations too.
Here is a video that explains how Tom’s shoes actually works… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX0g66MWbrk
Wow. Thanks! I remember reading about this a while back. Bertolli was a brand I used quite often and always got pretty cheap at CVS. Switched to another brand, a tad more expensive, but the flavor is outstanding! Too bad I ditched receipts prior to 2017.
This is a bit ironic for me, because after I heard the press reports about all of the fakes a few years back, I researched and Bertolli was supposed to be authentic (I’m not a discerning cook or anything, but if I was going to pay so much money for “extra virgin” oil, I wanted it to be the real thing lol).
How about the Sam’s club purchases, are those eligible too?
Thanks so much for posting this! I often buy my olive oil from Aldi but I know I have bought this brand at least three times that I can remember within this time frame! Thank you so much!
Buy this all the time! Thanks!
I canโt tell you how many times weโve bought these bottles over the last few years! I wish I kept all my receipts. Lol. I currently have 3 bottles in my pantry!
Bummer, this is the only EVOO I buy. I’m kind of irritated they didn’t have the standards I thought they did. I guess that’s on me for not doing my homework.
i accidentally closed after hitting submit. i also saw a print button. no confirmation email? should have submitted? anything after clicking submit?
I have the confirmation screen up from submitting hours ago. It says you’ll get a confirmation email if you submitted an email address, but I didn’t get a confirmation email, either :/
Hi Jay! From what I am seeing, you need to wait to submit your claim until they have a deadline set. You’ll want to submit your claim within 30 days of the deadline once announced. Just keep checking back for the date through the link above. I hope this helps.
Just to clarify, is it limit of 5 to claim between all 3 varieties, or 5 per variety for 15 items total? Just want to make sure before submitting.
Hi Mel! From what I’m reading, if you have no receipt you can make up to 5 claims between all 3 varieties, so a total of 5 maximum. I hope this helps.
I had no trouble making a claim for 5 without proof of purchase. I used to buy this all the time but stopped when i started reading articles about how few Olive Oils are what they say they are. I have switched to COSTCO and California Olive Ranch which are both highly rated.
Thanks Kimberly. It wouldn’t let me submit my claim last night anyway, and now I see that the claim needs to be filled out when there’s an official date. Please keep us posted for that!!
i submitted but was not directed to a confirmation page with claim number. Now I don’t know if it went through or not?
Hi Clippy! You actually need to wait to submit your claim within 30 days of the final approval. The deadline date for submitting hasn’t been announced yet, so you’ll need to keep checking back through the link above. I hope this helps. ๐
****** DO NOT SUBMIT YET****** Read under Important Dates!!! Claim Form Submission Deadline โ 30 DAYS AFTER FINAL APPROVAL. The website will be updated when the exact deadline date is known. Please check back.

If anyone wants some maybe I can hook you up! At the very least I can give you his information. dsnj4@yahoo.com
The website sent me an email telling me to change browsers. I did and it worked.
I asked if now was the time to submit the claim. Here is the response they sent me.

Wow I always use buy this olive oil but still buying them.
Thank you Collin. Today (5-7-2019) I got $22.78 on my PayPal account because of this settlement. So happy ๐
Yay! That’s great to hear, Raql! You’re SO welcome! Thanks a bunch for the update!
I got my check yesterday, $10 and change. I had forgotten about it until yesterday so it was a nice surprise in the mailbox.
Oh wow! That’s awesome! Thanks for the update, TS!
I submitted a claim and unbeknownst to me received an electronic check. Just noticed the check today as the check was buried among my emails.
Unlike others who reported they got the funds credited into their Paypal account I received an e-check but the check is expired now (past 180 days).
I checked the website where the claim was filed but it seems the website oliveoilsettlement.com has been taken down. And Contact us on https://secure.onlineclaimfilings.com/KDO/login is giving an error.
Will the administrator reissue the check if I request them?
Is there any contact email address/phone number for the claims administrator for requesting them to reissue the check?
I’m seeing that the deadline has passed and I don’t see a way to contact them.
