activewear pieces amazon lululemon –– Collin holding activewear

Updated April 4, 2019.

Lululemon, the effortlessly cool activewear line that made athleisure a trend, may have met their match. Something they’re known for (even more than their amazing Align Pants) are their particularly high prices. I’m not going to start the debate of whether or not the price points are justified, but I will say that there are very similar options out there for just a fraction of the cost.

Check out our comparison of almost identical activewear pieces that will give you all the same style and comfort, but for much less. And they’re all from Amazon!

Keep in mind that prices often fluctuate on Amazon, so the prices listed below are just the average prices we’ve seen for these specific products.

1. Racerback Tank

activewear pieces amazon lululemon –– Collin racerback tanks

Lululemon Cool Racerback $48 vs. 90 Degree by Reflex Racerback $13

We seriously could not tell the difference between these two tanks. They both share the same stretch fabric, same shape, and even the same logo placement. However, it’s crazy not to notice the price difference…

While the Lululemon Cool Racerback tank is a classic, the Amazon option is just under 70% off the luxury competitor price! You’ll see even more of a discount if you buy them in the 2-packs.

2. Strappy Sports Bra

lululemon knockoffs — strappy sports bras from amazon

Some of our favorite items from Lululemon are their super cute sports bras. Not only are the strappy details so fun, but the prints and colors are abundant. That said, paying around $50 each is not our fave, so we were ecstatic when we found tons of options on Amazon just like their Lululemon counterparts — all around 60% less! These are perfect in the summer under loose fitting tanks!

3. Running Shorts

We found quite a few options for running and lounging shorts to help you beat the summer heat in style. Our finds look similar to Lululemon (even down to the convenient zipper pockets), but they average out to be almost 75% cheaper.

4. Fitted Jacket

activewear pieces amazon lululemon –– Collin fitted zippered jacket

Lululemon Define Jacket $118 vs. 90 Degree by Reflex Full Zip Jacket $39.99

This is by far the most impressive dupe we’ve found for Lululemon activewear. The Lululemon Define Jacket, which rings in at over $100, has tons of style and functionality so it’s no wonder why it’s such a popular item. That said, you can get pretty much the same version for under $40 on Amazon — seriously!

It has the same thumbholes, nearly the same seams, and the same logo placement! The only difference is it’s a whopping nearly $80 cheaper!

An even more similar jacket option is the Queenie Ke Slim Fit Jacket! It has the same rounded seams on the front side of the jacket making it almost indistinguishable from Lululemon!

5. Long Sleeve Running Shirt

activewear pieces amazon lululemon –– long sleeve running shirts

Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve Crew $78 vs. LWJ 1982 Long Sleeve Running Shirt $19

Of course, this long sleeve fitted crewneck shirt is cute enough to buy for the style, but did you know that they’re actually sweat-wicking and anti-microbial, too? This means they stay dry and won’t stink! While Lululemon may have more color options, the top by LWJ 1982 features similar, breathable fabric and perforated panels but is 75% cheaper — that’s a no-brainer to us! 😆

6. Leggings

activewear pieces amazon lululemon –– workout leggings

Lululemon Align Pant II $98 vs. 90 Degree by Reflex Leggings average price around $23

Now for the product you’ve probably been waiting for — the leggings. It’s no secret that Collin LOVES the Align pant for their buttery soft feel and the comfortable waistband that stays put.

That said, the 90 Degree leggings are quickly becoming a favorite among the Hip2Save team! They feature the same moisture-wicking 4-way stretch material, the high waist tummy control top, and TONS of fun colors! At over 75% less than the Lululemon price, you can stock up without depleting your bank account.

Hip Tip: Worried about not liking the fit of something you buy on Amazon? You may return most new, unopened items sold and fulfilled by Amazon within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.

Just when we thought we couldn’t love Amazon any more than we already do, they go and give us a reason to replenish our athleisure wardrobe. At least I’m not stretching my budget! 💃

My daughter has some 90 Degrees pieces that we have gotten at TJ Maxx and Marshalls and they have been great. She loves them. Excited to try some of these other brands! Thank you!!

    • Cristine

I was just going to mention- you can find tons of 90 Degrees items at Marshalls, which makes them an even better deal!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I love that they’re available at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s! Checking them out in store let’s you feel the fabric and try them on before you buy. Let us know what you think of the other brands from the post!

  2. Kate

Thank you for posting reviews like this! I’ve always been interested in Lululemon, but its unreasonable for my budget. I’m so glad there are alternatives and your opinion means the world to me!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

So glad this post was helpful! We were so impressed by the quality comparison and loved saving a ton of money by going with the more inexpensive options 😁!

  3. sarah

YES!! I love the 90degree brand. They also hold up so well with wash n wear. I switched from higher priced brands a little bit ago and haven’t looked back!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That’s AWESOME! Thanks for the feedback!

    • mamasweetpea08

i agree. i really like the 90degree brand. they are so stylish and modern with great material and at great prices. i found a few mesh leggings at sams a while back.

  4. GrlRcr

Love this post so much! Thank you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay!! Happy to hear that! 😍

  5. Jenn

Oh I’m definitely going to give these a try! How does sizing compare?

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Hi Jenn! Here’s the sizing chart for the 90 Degree brand and you should be able to find similar sizing charts for the other pieces on their Amazon product pages. Hope that helps!

  6. Heather

Any recommendations for a T-shirt similar to the long sleeve one?

  7. Mary

OMG will be getting some of these dupes, don’t want to spend tons of money on top on gym subscriptions

  8. Christina Copenhave

My daughter begged for lulu and we bought her 6 items. She concluded she liked her 90 degrees stuff just as well.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      That’s great to hear! 🙌

  9. irene

Practiced hot yoga next to someone decked out in head-to-toe Lululemon. Meanwhile, I jammed in my mismatched clearance items and felt great. The 90 degrees label looks familiar so I may even already own one. The brand doesn’t help your fitness AT ALL! 🙂

    • MCouzens

Same here! I will rock my C9 shirt with my Old Navy tights and New Balance shoes.

  10. Deb E

Thanks for the post. I’ve not heard of this brand and only have one Lululemon piece, which I won in a giveaway since they are way too expensive for my taste. Hope to find them in stores to try on first.

  11. Lindsey

I buy 90 degree from Marshall’s and I absolutely LOVE them! I got one pair of capris and loved them so much I went back to my Marshall’s and another one near by to my area to find more in my size!!! So excited to read this article and definitely going to check out their jacket and tanks as well as these other brands!!

    • Lindsey

And I’m a frequent at the gym, I do cardio, running, and weight training. They hold up well through working out and wash!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

So glad it was helpful Lindsey! Please let us know when you think of the tanks and jacket if you do end up purchasing 😊!

  12. Wanda

How can you try them on and return them if they don;t fit? It says unopened items?

    • Elaine m

I was wondering the very same thing.

    • Michelle

You can try them on… just keep the tags on… my daughter does it all the time… ordered 9 swimsuits to keep 1 that she liked and amazon refunds you as soon as you hand it off to the post office… very easy😊😊😊

  13. LC

    Great reviews. thanks!

  14. Beverly

Almost all of my yoga leggings are 90 degree by reflex. They fit well and they give nice thigh compression. They last a long time, through many washings without thinning or stretching out. (Never put them in the dryer.) They are by far my favorite, though I have never tried Lululemon.

  15. Laura

I bought a pair of 90 degrees leggings at Sam’s club a month or 2 ago for $10 bucks. They feel amazing and the first time I wore them I overheard someone e saying that they wanted to touch my legs 🤣 I must say they do make my legs look good.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

WOW!! $10?! What a HOT price, thanks so much for sharing!

  16. Laura

    Wondering the same…

  17. Barbara Ann

I can vouch for the leggings. I got them off of amazon and they are my favorite pair of black leggings. They are the pair I reach for time and again- even beating out Athleta, Gap, Old Navy, Lulu. I think I paid around $15 when they were on sale around Black Friday. But even at $25ish they’re a great deal.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome to hear! Thanks for the feedback.

  18. Melissa

What shirt are you wearing under the jacket?? It’s so hard to find long shirts!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Melissa!

I am actually wearing a 90 degree racerback tank top (as mentioned in the post). Here’s a link to them on Amazon – https://amzn.to/2Kt8E5G

  19. Cindy

So so glad to read a post like this because, like so many other hip2savers, Lulu is not in my budget either. I have never heard of the 90 degree brand, and I will definitely check it out at Marshalls and TJMaxx. I am in the market for an activewear jacket, but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg. THANK YOU so much for this timely post!!!! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay!! You are SO welcome! 🙌

  20. Judy E Trac

I’m gonna get my bf to buy me those Lululemon.

    • Jessica

🙂 you are too funny Judy Trac

  21. cpnkay

Even better than these prices are the activewear prices at Walmart! I have so many cute pieces that are so inexpensive!!

  22. Hagar

is anyone aware of something very long like a tunic for workout covering hips? for moderate clothing

    • Susi

I can across several tunic length Avia tops @ Walmart for $8! They cover the tail end and don’t ride up with movement. Loose fitting but not so loose if you know what I mean 😂

    • Dkp91576

My fave is the Cuddle Duds cowl or circle neck tunic. It is long enough for leggings, fabric is super soft, washes well and has the finger holes I love. They are $40 at Kohls but I usually stock up when I have good promo codes and Kohls cash.

  23. Susan Pyles

I hate to be contrary to everyone else, but I love the heck outta all my Lululemon. Because I save so much elsewhere via H2S, I can afford to shop there. I have run lots, and am most picky about bottoms. The tops and bras I can get anywhere, but I need bottoms to be LLL.

    • Dealgirl

I agree with Susan. I have so many pairs of leggings. I jog for an hour every day and my Lululemon are the best hands down. Sure 90 degrees is a great price, but they just don’t fit as well as lululemon IMO.

    • Connie

Another Lululemon loyalist here. My 12 year old black Wunder Under Pants still looks & performs the same since I bought it❤️! Worth every penny 👍🏻!

  24. Jenny

That’s great but I gotta just throw this out there – I have gotten some great Lululemon pieces from Poshmark and eBay. Most items will be pre-owned but everything I’ve gotten has been in amazing condition at a fraction of retail price. Honestly, I barely buy new anymore. It’s cheaper and helping to recycle clothing ✌️

    • Sarah

Good to know about poshmark. I don’t mind shopping used. As long as j get a great deal and it’s quality pieces.

  25. Lindsay

What’s with the Queenie jacket and not very many size/color options?! I hope they restock soon! I want a few at these price points!

  26. amykpta

TY! I ordered a pair of leggings to try – I’ve been in the market for new leggings and I’m thrilled to learn of a popular affordable option!

  27. Whitney

I have so many 90 Degrees pants and they are myl favorite but FYI: certain styles (the solid colored ones without cutouts or seaming, mostly) run a little bit big because the spandex is so stretchy. I buy an XS where’s I’m usually always a Small.

    • Melissa

      Good to know, thank you!

  28. Rose

They’re my favorite brand! Been wearing them the last 2 years!

  29. Jen

I love the Queenie Ke Energy Medium Support bra on Amazon. It’s a perfect dupe for the lulu Free to be Wild bra and the quality is AMAZING. They also have a light support version but the medium is my favorite. It comes up high enough in the front to avoid cleavage which is sometimes hard to find in sports bras, esp. when the girls are smooshed together! Lol

  30. Holly

Why do things only go up to size large? Especially in work out clothes! Us big girls are trying to get healthy too… or at least look cute.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Target has some cute ones in larger sizes!

  31. SM

Thanks for the comments I’m excited to try the leggings. I have yet to find a pair I think is comfortable.

  32. Amanda

Looking for a sports bra that has good support but doesn’t just shmush my breasts into my chest – any suggestions?

  33. Ihearthip

I feel like I’ve gotten something similar to this at Sam’s. Can’t remember the name.

  34. Mary

Can anyone that has tried the 90degrees leggings tell me how they work for someone with long legs ? I have a hard time finding yoga pants that will actually touch and cover part of the top of my shoes….

  35. Kristina

I buy this brand at TJ Maxx or Marshalls all the time and their stuff is SO comfy.

  36. Hope

off topic…but you hair pony/bun is too cute…how do you do it?

  37. Juliana M

    Free returns with prime!!

  38. TracyS

Question- how do these impostors hold up after several washings? To me, that’s the key difference between cheaply made clothing and high end brands.

    • Gisette

Imposters 🤣 …I’m a distance runner and the 90deg brand leggings hold up nicely. Wash well. Hang dry-always. I never put my running gear in the dryer.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi Haley! I hang dry all my workout gear and that helps a ton. So far so good with these specific items!

    • Elizabeth Bishop

It may surprise you that some of these imposters are the ones that actual are making the name brand clothing.

  39. Keri

Great post! Thanks for the tips! I have a few of the 90 degree leggings and totally agree. Great dupe! Still looking for some dupe’s for the men’s line though. Any rec’s?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You’re so welcome, Keri! What a great question! Thanks for asking! Maybe we can do a similar post for the Men’s line! 😉 I will be sure to pass this along to the team!

      • Kim

Do you have any deals on swimsuits and jumpsuits that look like Albion??? It is my favorite store but everything is basically $118 I would love to get a less expensive brand that looks the same 🙂

        • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for asking Kim! We will have to look into that!

        • Erin

Maybe you would find something similar at cupshe.com

  40. Danielle

Thank you for the heads up. I just snagged the jacket and leggings! I just recently discovered Lululemon and did like quite a few things I tried on but ultimately I couldn’t justify $98 leggings. I did end up with a few pairs of shorts though.

  41. Alisha

Do these run true to size? It seems like when I buy yoga pants/activewear the bottoms run small. I’m a 2 in normal clothes, but have worn up to a medium in various tights/pants. How would you recommend I purchase?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! Size can vary greatly per item. Be sure to check the Amazon reviews for helpful tips on sizing!

  42. Haley

Can anyone attest to the “staying up” power of the 90 degree workout capris when you’ve got some *ahem* baby weight around the middle? Not that I don’t trust Collin’s opinion, but she has a very flat tummy!

    • Hihash

They work wonderful! They hit high so you can tuck everything in and look flatter. I bought a few pairs and wore them home from the hospital. 8 MONTH’S Later I still wear them almost daily.

    • Elizabeth Bishop

HA! This is my situation too lol.

    • ttmanuel

I love the lululemom align pants bc I have similar issues. I just got the 90 degrees pants today and they do feel and look similar, but the look around the stomach area isn’t as flattering and you can see panty lines more. Just my opinion, but hey, for 60% less, I may just get a longer shirt because these are pretty comfy.

  43. Jackie

I just bought the racerback tank ($6) and the jacket ($30) – I’m so excited to try them! Thanks for this post! I can’t justify spending $$$$ on workout gear so this is perfect for me. I’d rather save the money and splurge on other things :).

  44. F Luna

I have a hard time with my thighs rubbing and it creating holes in my inner thigh area of workout gear…..how does these hold out?

  45. MrsRAL

I was so excited after reading this post a couple days ago and immediately ordered the 90 degree leggings and capri leggings from Amazon. When I opened them today they felt amazingly soft and my normal size (10, ordered large) fit well. Unfortunately, they are definitely not squat-proof on me. I checked out my rear in a mirror and the material was super thin as it stretched. I’m really bummed because I love the feel of the leggings, but these are getting returned. I read enough Amazon reviews to know this isn’t everyone’s experience but wanted to put it out there since it might help another H2Ser!

    • ttmanuel

I noticed the same and panty lines. They did feel great though.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn! Sorry to hear about that! Thanks a ton for coming back to give us your honest review! We sure appreciate it!

  46. Sarah

Just bought another 2 pack of 90 degree Reflex short sleeve shirts for my daughter at Costco! Less than $10 for the 2 pack!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

SWEET! Thanks for the heads up on your find! We will have to keep a lookout for those!

  47. Katie

PLEASE!!! Find a dupe for Lulu’s Enlite bra!!!!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for the request Katie! I will be sure to pass that along to the rest of the team!

  48. Sheila

Received the Queenie ke jacket yesterday and also own the LLL define jacket. For an almost $80 price difference these 2 items are pretty similar. I can get 3 Queenies for the price of one LLL define. Thanks for this post Hip Team!

    • Emily (Hip2Save Sidekick)

That’s awesome, Sheila!! So glad you love the jacket (and the price point!) as much as we do 😄!

  49. Mrs.W

Thanks so much for the product recommendation I was able to find a jacket at Marshall’s today for $24.99! Score! Thanks so much!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Awesome! You’re so welcome!

  50. Denise

I bought my first pair of Lululemon and they ended up balling up on me. I was very disappointed considering the price. I also tried on 90 degrees at TJMaxx and Marshall’s and they are way too long for me and the cropped ones are too baggy at the bottom for me. They do feel nice I just wish they fit me. Short people problems.
