Why is Build-A-Bear offering such a sweet coupon?

On July 12th, Build-A-Bear attempted to host a Pay Your Age promotion in which all Rewards members (free to join) could purchase any Furry Friend for the price of just your kiddos age (minimum $1). This offer was so popular that Build-A-Bear actually had to close lines which left many customers frustrated and unhappy.

Rather than having upset customers, they turned around and offered up this $15 off a Make-Your-Own Furry Friend coupon. And if you haven’t already, you are still able to sign up and score this coupon!

Keep in mind that you can purchase discounted Build-A-Bear gift cards at Sam’s Club and/or Costco. Combine the $15 off Make-Your-Own Furry Friend coupon mentioned above with a discounted gift card to save even more!

Does anyone know if we can use this coupon towards the count your candle promotion ?

    • Anna

I was wondering the same thing! My son’s birthday is next month and I would love to accessorize his bear for him.

I’m under the impression that you can use it only on the animal itself and not the accessories. Since Count Your Candles is for 14 years or less, they’d be giving you the bear free, which I doubt they would do (even on the original promotion, you’d had to pay $1 minimum).

Count Your Candles is Pay your age not free. https://www.buildabear.com/count-your-candles.html
This is what is received during the count your candles promotion: Special Birthday Heart Ceremony a yellow star Birthday Heart for Their Furry Friend, Birthday Cake Photo Prop ,a purple bear paw Birthday Sticker, an orange asteric Birthday Party Hat, Ringing the Birthday Bell a red triangle Singing “Happy Birthday!”

I don’t know if you would be-able to use the coupon towards an out fit. I would contact customer service a head of time just to see.

I had two vouchers and took them into my local build a bear. The lady at the desk told me she would allow me to use both vouchers just this time, which was fantastic! However we waited over an hour in line to stuff our bears. I highly recommend buying your bears unstuffed right now and going back to stuff them at a later date. The lady in the store said it had been this busy since Thursday. I would have waited later to go in at all, but I was worried if we waited too long to go in they wouldn’t be as apt to let me use both vouchers. Hence, why we braved the line today.

Went today at 10 am when they opened and it was not busy at all and they had tons of stock. Let my son pick out any animal he wanted and the price was $1.75 after coupon, less than what it would have been on pay your age day. Very happy with this promotion and he loves his bear!

We got all 3 of our kids their bears, didn’t need extra coupons, they said they didn’t want people just opening accounts for it and they honored it. We ended up paying only a few dollars more then I would have the day of the pay your age sale. It was not busy and a good selection! The only stipulation was you can’t get the Barbie bear or hot wheels bear. We were happy!! Thanks build a bear!

So has anyone tried using 2-3 of the $15 coupon??
I wanted to go with my three girls—I kind of doubted they would take 2 or 3 but maybe they
    Might??

Sense the baby is one I just got a stuffed bear for her and paid $1.50, and let the oldest stand in line to stuff her pony and paid $10.50. I think it’s going to vary by location, and possibly by their stock. Better idea would be go in by yourself on a couple days and buy them unstuffed and come back to stuff that with all 3 girls.

    • Britt

I had printed out 2 vouchers when I went in and they let’s us use them. I really think it depends on the location. Can’t hurt to try!

Do I have to bring a kid to stuff? I want to buy one by myself for my great niece.

  8. Rae

No. I would buy it un-stuffed and bring her in since it’s more about the experience. They get to put the heart in and wish on the heart themselves. It’s a lot of fun for kids.

I’m trying to create an account and it’s not accepting my account. – the password is not taking and I’m meeting the criteria.

They let me use 3 vouchers. I made gifts! My son was thrilled. You cannot use vouchers on Birthday Bears/ Pay your age.
