How was anyone’s experience with Frontier Airlines? Pros? Cons?

My son’s experience as related to me… you get what you pay for. No frills. He thought their announcement was pretty funny at the beginning of the flight (San Diego – Denver). For the price, cannot be beat (just know that going in). Hubby will fly them next month. Can’t wait to hear about that… again, for the short duration of the flight and price, he can put up with anything.

i flew frontier in April non stop from San Jose California to Cincinnati ohio and it was horriable. seats were very uncomfortable, like being on a school bus. alot of turbulence. I felt everything. You have to buy snacks and drinks. I would never fly frontier again. No pros

We’ve flown them three times. We thought it was fine. You pay for all the extras- bags, drinks and snacks, picking your seat assignment, making changes to your reservation, etc. But if the overall price of what we need is still lower to take Frontier than another airline, we would fly them again without hesitation. Southwest is our favorite, but we have had better experiences lately with Frontier than American/United.

I flew them with a friend and our two toddler daughters on the Ohio-LA leg of a trip to New Zealand (think 40 hours door to door). I am used to flying budget airlines and had no issues. Seats were fine and I didn’t expect much more.

Frontier airline is the worst airline I’ve ever flown in. Pro: Cheap. Cons – plastic seats, you pay for everything (water, luggage, seats, etc. Would never fly with them again – even if you paid me! The only airline that is worse is Spirit Airline.

I have flown Frontier probably a dozen times. I have never had an issue other than my flight being delayed by 30 minutes once. I have more issues with United than I do Frontier. I always select my seat and in the exit row if possible. (There is more leg room and the seats are more comfortable usually) They clearly say it is an unbundled fare on their website so if you complain about have to pay $3 more for a soda, maybe you should just pay $100 more for your ticket on a different airline that includes the soda and snack. If you compare, Frontier is still way less than other airlines. When I went from Minneapolis to NYC in May, my fare was $54 round trip sitting in the exit row, add in luggage, $114, add in snack/drink $120 total for my flight. Any flight on a different carrier started at $250 in basic economy (still no seat selection, carry on, or checked bag.) The only difference was you got a soda, bag of pretzels, and your seat selected for you at the gate. I highly recommend Frontier Airlines! Also, if you ask for a glass of water on the flight, it is free, I’ve never been charged. One pro also is that they have the newest fleet of aircraft in the sky. Turbulence is not something that airlines can control. It’s not like the Frontier planes experience turbulence and the Delta ones do not. That’s just my experience, if someone has one bad experience with an airline, that’s all they ever talk about. I hate flying United. Every time I have, I’ve missed a connection because my first leg of a flight was delayed. I then lose my seat selection and have gotten put on standby for the next flight.

I just booked nonstop flights with Frontier for my family of 5. Tickets were $30 each person round trip! I also added seat selection for $13 per person and 2 bags for $60 each round trip, which were both optional items. I’m so excited! I hope this works out to be a good experience.
