I have this and i regret purchasing it. I have the 6 qt instapot and I purchased this one as well and I regret not dishing out the extra money for the instapot. It cooks fine, but I do not like the settings and after only one year of minimal use it is already missing a piece from the top rendering it useless. It is a tiny piece that must have broke off while washing. I didn’t even realize it was missing until the next use when all my food had burnt. I have used my instapot almost every day for over a year and it works perfectly.
Have you tried contacting Tristar? I have 2 power pressure cookers 6qt ame 10qt ame love them both! Have used them for a couple years with no issues. Definitely a great pressure cooker, I highly recommend. Sure there is a learning curve when first starting but they are GREAT!
I will try. They do cook fine, but they just do don’t compare to the instapot. I have owned both for the same amount of time and I know how to cook with both, but in my honest opinion instapot comes out on top each time.
I had this model and after 6 months it just quit heating. The digital controls would work but the heating element just stopped. Luckily, I had purchased from Costco and still had the box so back it went, no issues. I was able to score a 10 qt. Instant Pot at Fred Meyer for $68 (on sale for $99 with a $15 instant meat rebate for any slow or pressure cooker over $29.99 and and then an extra 20% off housewares bonus coupon)! I just purchased it last weekend and haven’t broken it in. I’m sticking to the IP from now on though.
