these basic steps work! we just paid off our house a few months ago. We have learned how to properly spend and save money by using these very basic principles that i wish someone would have taught me years ago. When we started this program i had a very hard time convincing hubby but if you ask him now he would say it was all worth it! We do not make a lot of money it was just learning how to spend and were to cut back. Now we find budgeting fun sitting at the table together as a family or 15 yr old is learning these simple principles and how to avoid mistakes his parents once made:)

Dave Ramsey is how we paid off all our debt 13 years ago. And his principles are also the reason we’re in a very good place in our lives right now. Would recommend it to anyone.
Great book! On the topic of budgeting, can anyone recommend an app they use and like? Preferably for couples who share finances. I’m looking at Mint, Wallet and YNAB. Can’t choose. TIA!!
Full disclosure: I work for YNAB but my husband and I used it before I started working there and it completely changed our finances!! The method and way YNAB has you budget is different but in a good way. Check it out! You can search online for 3 months trials. There is also a YNAB Fans! Facebooks group that is super helpful.

YNAB hands down. I’ve used all 3 and YNAB is the way to go. It took our Dave Ramsey budgeting to a whole new level and made it a million times easier. We’re saving and paying off debt at a rate we never have before purely because of YNAB. I can’t say enough good things about it!
And by all 3 I meant Every dollar, mint, and YNAB. I’m not familiar with wallet.
