Walmart is becoming the one-stop shop!

Not only can you get your hair cut, tires changed, nails done, eyes checked, photos developed, and prescriptions filled in store (in addition to grocery shopping), but now you can get a Build-A-Bear animal stuffed, too! 😱

That’s because Build-A-Bear Workshop stores have launched inside the following select Walmart locations across the country – but more stores may be coming!

These stores are a scaled-down version than what you’d find at your local mall; however, you can still find a nice selection of fun inventory and accessories, including exclusive Condo Cubs Bears priced at just $10 each and accessories for only $5 each. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to use a Walmart gift card to make purchases inside these Build-A-Bear locations.

Head here to read all the details.

Nnooooooo!!! My kids already beg for everything in Walmart as is – all I wanna do is get groceries lol. Iโ€™m sure this is cool, but I can hear the whining now….

    • Laura

Kat I was just thinking the same thing! Lol ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Just one more thing my kids will want everytime we are in Walmart lol

Kat, I am not sure if this would help with the general – non-Build-a-bear – ๐Ÿ˜‰ whining, but I found it helpful to let my little one hold a toy throughout the trip around the store with the understanding that we WONT be buying it, it helped curb down the whining substantially.

I think this is a terrible idea on Build a Bear’s part. They are able to sell stuffed animals for $20-$100 because it seems like a special experience. We’ve taken our daughter every year for her birthday, sometimes bringing a friend. The wish ceremony, the bathtubs and brushes, naming it and getting a birthday certificate and walking around the store choosing and outfit were all part of what made it an activity instead of just a purchase. Putting them in Walmarts (which are in every town of every size across America) and reducing the selection and the price is going to dilute the brand.
It’s like how Mattel is ruining American Girl. When I was a child in the 80s/90s American Girl only had the historic dolls and they focused on being high quality and very detailed. You ordered them from the catalog. When they created their own stand alone, girl-centric stores, adding a girlie restaruant and activities/ events they made the brand special and the price made it exclusive. Now it’s becoming just a regular overpriced doll that you can buy anywhere and there’s no reason to choose AG over Our Generation or MyLife.

      I agree!

    • Laura

      I agree, very well written.

I agree. Going to Build-A-Bear is a special experience. Putting them in Walmarts is going to cheapen their brand. I feel gross when I visit a Walmart (which I rarely do). I leave wanting to wash my hands. And shower. Build-A-Bear will be very much tarnished in my mind.
