I was just coming on here to say the same thing! We literally just bought my daughter the 2gig but it was open box for $189 on Sunday! Her prior samsung chromebook had quit charging after 4 years, (Samsung chromebook 2Gig). I feel bad returning it, but you can’t argue with that price difference! Shameless plug for this chromebook-it has served her well-she’s used it for school (and movies, lol) and was working great for college(running start) until the battery went kaput. since it was so old, we just got a new one.

Is it good for gaming for my 11 year old?
Define gaming. It has an “onboard” graphics chip….the intel 400HD. It will be further throttled by the limitations of the CPU. It should run older games at minimal settings or better but it’s by no means a gaming machine. That being said, it’s only $100 bucks and should run alot of Google app store games.
Would this be a good gift for 10 year old? What all can be done on this? Thank you
It depends on what they will be using it for. My daughter loves hers. She uses it for school, prefers it to a regular laptop-watches movies on it, etc. I’m really not sure about gaming-i used to play WOW eons ago and am fairly sure this computer wouldn’t handle it but i couldn’t tell you why-please someone more knowledgeable chime in here… My 10yo is watching youtube videos on his, lol.
I have the 4G version of this. It’s definitely NOT a gaming laptop. Browsing the web, using it to type up a paper and regular daily functions, yes. However, if you’re looking for a laptop that is used for Fortnite and other gaming apps this is not the laptop to get.

What is the difference between a laptop and this Chromebook? I need a new something as the laptop I still use is windows Vista hahaha I love it but it is kinda slow.

This same chrome book was 99 yesterday at Walmart for the 4 gig. You can not play fortnite or minecraft on this. My son like it for everything else though. They use theirs for school stuff also like raz kids or iread programs.
