These are awesome! I have 5 boys and we purchase these often. I reinforce it with some hot glue and they hold up for months.
We have purchased three of these. For the price I think they are great. If you’re assuming you’re going to get a year out of them I would advise not to get them. They are great for hours of coloring and play. I will say I thought the rocket ship would be big enough for my 7 or 4 year old to get inside of….that wasn’t the case. They could poke their head in and maybe sit in it, but no room to “play” but they still loved placing stuffed animals in it and coloring it 🙂

We had the rocket last year. It was not sturdy but fun. This year we have the gingerbread house (bought last year for $5!). It’s been fun. It’s big, we have just one kiddo but works great for her.

I just ordered one. $8.18 with tax. I read all the reviews and told my husband to expect some troubleshooting and adding reinforcements to make it sturdier. I think that is only to be expected with a thin cardboard playhouse. I sometimes think people have unrealistic expectations. It’s a thin cardboard house. Anyways I feel like I need to buy some markers and other crafty stuff so they can decorate it now. This might turn into an expensive craft. Ha!
We had a rocket ship and a gingerbread house. After a few weeks I reinforced the corners with duct tape and my 7 year old still had her gingerbread house in one piece! The rocket ship was recycled about 3 months after Christmas because it wasn’t quite as sturdy but duct tape helped it. My son just asked Santa to bring him another rocket ship this year so I grabbed another! All that to say our experience wasnt so bad especially for under $10 each!
I cut up strips from the box it came in to straighten out the corners on the inside and it makes it much stronger!

Do these fold up after they’ve been built? We don’t have a lot of space but I have a kid that would love one of these
we had this last year, and i would say you won’t get a lot of mileage out of it if you fold it up after putting it together. the corners stay together by folding tabs that insert into slots, and if you take the tabs in and out of the slots once or twice, i think it will become very flimsy right away. plus, you would not be able to reinforce the tabs with duct tape or hot glue if you wanted to take it down again. it would be a lot of work to put up and down.
i would suggest that you put it together in your kid’s room, and just plan to recycle it after 6 weeks if you are tight on space?
or the rocketship doesn’t take up too much floor space. it could go in a corner.
