Free $5 Credit w/ $5 Starbucks eGift Card Purchase (Chase Checking Customers)
For a limited time, Chase Checking customers can score a bonus $5 Starbucks gift card when you use the new eGift feature in your Chase Mobile Banking App to send a $5 Starbucks eGift Card. There is a limit of one bonus gift card per account.
Note that you might not see anything noted about this offer in your app. We have tested the deal, and we did receive the $5 bonus eGift card directly from Starbucks within minutes of our purchase. This offer is limited to consumer checking accounts and will not apply to business checking.
Here’s how to get the bonus…
- Open your Chase Mobile Banking App and sign up for Quickpay with Zelle.
- If signing up for Quickpay for the first time, close your app and then re-open to see the gifting option.
- Click on the drop down menu on the left side and select “Gifting” under the more section.
- Click “Send a gift” and then “Send a Starbucks gift card”.
- Click send gift card and both you and your recipient will get a $5 Starbucks eGift Card.
Does it work with the chase app and chase credit card?
Wondering the same!
Hi Kim! The details on the Chase website state: You’ll need a Chase checking account or a Chase Liquid card to use Chase QuickPay with Zelle. Hope that helps!
Thanks Liza! Bummer!
Thank you for posting this! I’ve been looking for a good gift card deal to reload my Starbucks rewards.
You’re welcome Carol!
Works, thanks.
Worked for me!
I tried it and it didn’t work for me. Maybe I did it wrong?
Finally got it! Yay!
Awesome! So glad you were able to get it to work!
Easy peasy. Thank you!
Merry Hanukwanzaa!

Does anyone know if the person I am sending the gift card to, need to have a chase account as well?
They don’t. It will go to their email address like a regular e-gift card.
Thank you very much.
Yay!
Is this a new offer, or the same as a few weeks ago, so if we already did it before, can we do it again now or not, since it’s limit one bonus gift card per account?
Wondering the same. I did it before, wondering if I can do it again
How long did it take for the second Starbucks gift to come in? My friend got it within seconds meanwhile I’m still waiting for 20 mins….
Took about an hour for my bonus card.
Got it! Thanks
Just a tip- I tried to send the card to my self/own email and it wouldn’t let me. But I could send it to myself at my work email. So got the gift at work mail and the bonus card at personal email
Thank you very much Hip2save! Got another $5. Merry Christmas!
You’re so welcome Yuan!
Not sure what happened but I never got my bonus giftcard. I got the one I paid for within minutes. Its already been a couple of hours.
Wont let me send it till tomorrow…? Will i still het the promo?
My chase app doesn’t have the dropdown menu, so I went online and signed in, and was able to send $5 to my son. Hopefully, my free $5 will show up.
Yay! I got the free $5 !!!
I did this deal last time, a couple weeks ago.. for those who did it before too I dont think we’ll get it again. I tried it and didnt get the bonus card. Oh well. Worth a shot.
Can I use the Starbucks credit from Verizon up to send the $5 and still earn $5??
Do I have to use the app or can this be done online on a computer? I don’t usually use banking apps for security reasons. Thanks
Hi there! You will need to use the new eGift feature in your Chase Mobile Banking App to grab the offer. Hope that helps!
I have the app but didn’t work (no drop down menu) so I went online and logged in, and it worked.
Hello do you know when this offer expires? I did it yesterday through my chase checking and It did not seem to work 🙁 I only got the card i paid for. Thanks
I did this on the 19th after reading the post. I never received the free $5 card and when I called Starbucks to inquire, I was told that the promo was from Nov. 26th thru Dec. 2nd, and my purchase did not qualify.
