People go to the store as early as 6am and wait for the store to open. This is the busiest day at Dillard’s.
This will be my first year in many years not to go to that sale. It’s so crazy there! Especially in the shoe and purse area. MY husband is on call and I don’t want to drag my kids there this year. We did hit belks up last weekend for a great sale and my kids summer wardrobe is practically done. We got 42 items for $100. It would have cost less but we got a few things not on clearance (but still on sale). Most of what we bought was $1.99. So I feel good at passing on the Dillard’s sale. I can’t lie and say I don’t want to, but it’ll be nice to just relax today.
Lol! People fight over shoes..shoes,purse and home are the busiest department. People run inside as soon as the door opens.

Their 3-day return policy for items bought in the store means day 1 is the day you bought it. So in reality, you have 2 days to return it. So dumb 🤪 But…I love shopping this sale ❤️
I went to Dillard’s yesterday morn to exchange a pair of UGG gloves my husband had gifted me. In store the UGG gloves were already 40% off. I expected an even exchange, as I was replacing with an identical pair and my husband had paid full price 😳 ( the original pair had a slight defect) To my surprise and delight, the clerk refunded the full amount of the returned pair and rang up the new pair at the discounted price. Needless to say, I am very pleased with their customer service. 😃
Sale started at 1 am est and it took me 1 hour to get thru checkout. I lost half of my items but still scored awesome things. Love Dillard’s!
Online was the worst ever this year! I started out with 28 items in my cart. It wouldn’t even let me back on the site until 40 minutes into the sale. I only ended up with 8 items! 😭 Usually it’s not that bad! I try to get my kids holiday clothes for next year during this sale and unfortunately failed this time! I just don’t know if I feel up to getting ready and going into the store this year (plus it’s 45 minutes one way).
I would love if H2S could post deals on Rare Editions and Bonnie Jean type of clothing for girls! Since their things are expensive but so cute!

I don’t understand why people are going crazy at this. I have a local Dillards and have been shopping this sale for years. They do an additional 60% off clearance items twice a year. I believe, but could be wrong that one is in February and another in June? Anywho, the extra 50 is nice, but 60 is better. 😉
50% is the highest they go. I used to work at Dillard’s so I know.
I have never seen 60% off clearance price. In February it’s 60% off regular price at our Dillard’s.
Yup! 65% for the regular clearance but not the additional %. For the end month sale they do usually 30-40% and once in a awhile 50% especially in Men’s.
Everybody is not familiar with the store. Some states don’t have this store. Thanks for the post 50% is a great deal on some of the items they sell
The sale was disappointing this year. I can usually clothe both of my kids for summer for about $100 with this sale. The prices were higher this year, the selection wasn’t great, and items that I normally buy were on sale but not on clearance so the extra 50% off didn’t apply. It wasn’t a total loss but definitely not as good as years past.
I was up until 5 am ordering.. great deals!
I went to the store around 10:30..it was completely packed with people. People were pushing each other out of the way to grab things. Not worth it for me, I left without buying anything.
Love this sale! I was one of the ones standing at the door waiting in the crowd for it to open. I was at the store for 3 hours and went through the checkout line twice. Got a ton of Christmas items at under $3, a couple of southern living kitchen items that were on clearance with extra 50% off, and scored a couple pairs of Costas sunglasses for my husband and myself at 50% off their clearance price. Crazy day at Dillards, but my friend and I have so much fun! This year’s tips: we took a reusable giant shopping bag from TJ Maxx with us to carry our items around and we saved a ton of time checking out in the makeup department!
Just got out of the store it’s crazy busy
I went to two different stores. The prices were different for identical items. Online are different price too. The prices were not great, but found a few special occasion dresses that are very pretty and good quality for under $20.
I went this morning. The store was a madhouse people were pushing and shoving. Totally crazy and stressful. I bought a few things but this is my last year going. The deals are not worth the chaos. This sale used to be amazing. The deals are less every year and more people. Online is not so great either but if can get your order in it is worth it.
They used to do just the New Year sale but now they have the after Christmas too on some Department (accessories, shoes and home) so whatever is left on Christmas sale is what they’re gonna sell for the New Year sale.
That isn’t entirely true. I work at Dillard’s. We had MULTIPLE new markdowns between Christmas and New Years in preparation for this sale.
We went for the first time and it was so fun!! Got everything we went in for plus more. Loved it! Didn’t see any mean people and their employees were so nice! Going back next year for sure!
Went this morning just after opening. Got a Kate Spade purse for 1/3 of the original price! Got pj’s, slippers, & Sperry’s shoes. Yes it’s a madhouse, but it worth it. Not everything is worth buying at this sale. Wait for the monthly additional off clearance sale. Once its at 75% or more, then you got a deal! Saw some merchandise, I’ll go back next month for.
Our local Dillard’s is now an outlet. So the ENTIRE store was an extra 50% off today. I got my daughter 15 items dresses, shirts, and sweaters for $75. My husband got a $700 suit for $120. They had some great deals. Will be sad to see it close completely in May. ☹️☹️☹️
They have this sale Black Friday and New Year’s Day then again during the year – love their items shoes and boots and purses sun glasses and watches – so much fun
