I’m going to making my husband a little Valentine’s day treat box and this is going to be the cutest little box to hold it all! Thanks!!!!!

    • Diana

That’s a great idea!!! I might borrow it.

    • Cami

That’s such a cute idea! Would you care to share what kind of things that you could put into the box? I feel like I never know what to get my husband…. EVER! This sound like such a great idea. 🙂

      • Diana

I was thinking… my hubby is really into the store bought rice crispy treats right now. I’m planning on looking for the valentines treats where you can write on them and on each one I’m going write something I love about him and put them all in the box. I’m still thinking about what else I can add into the box. Perhaps some beer, socks, work gloves, dried sausage/jerky, mini bottles of wine or mini bottles of liquor? So many options!!! I was thinking BBQ utensils and BBQ sauce but I’m not sure just how big the lunch box is. Maybe make it more bath/grooming related… like men’s bath gel/soap, razor, shaving cream, hair trimmer and new bath or hand towel, new toothbrush/tooth paste, mouth wash. Also don’t forget the Vday card!!! Maybe do a game theme box… like some cards, dice, Cards Against Humanity, Uno, other fun card games.

        • Diana

Another idea… Moscow Mule ingredients… mini liquor bottle of vodka, bottle of ginger beer and the lime juice in a squeeze bottle and a copper mug.

Ladies, great ideas for your husbands. Can i get some suggestions from you ladies. I would love to do a box for my wife. First what kind of box to use and what to put in it. Please help, would love to surprise her and improve our marriage which is in a rut. This qould be a great way to start the turn around

            • Lana

30 notes with the reason you love her all in individual envelopes. That is the number one thing. A list of 100 things you can do everyday to show her that you love her and do 5 of them every day and write them down. Show them to her at the end of each week for at least 10 weeks–real game changer. Her favorite candy. A coupon for a day off from taking care of the house, kids and when she comes home it needs to be clean and dinner taken care of. Many Moms do without things like new clothes when everyone else always needs new things so maybe a gift card to her favorite clothing store. We have been married for 40 years and it is work to stay together! You won’d regret it!

            • A

Maybe one of those photo boxes with a special design on it and some treats like favorites snacks and candies and a dvd of a favorite movie to watch together. You could also add in bath items for a relaxing bubble bath! Or any theme you think she’ll like.

            • Lo

              Wise hubby-
Find out her love language and base your gift on that. https://www.5lovelanguages.com/2018/06/the-five-love-languages-defined/
I personally would like a letter and a pic or photo album. And maybe some cake 🤣
Filling her gas tank would also be nice if you live in a cold snowy state.
As for the rut, perhaps change things up. Do or help her with the chores she normally does. Do things together you don’t normally do like cook, wash/dry dishes, grocery shop, evening walks. Simple things go far and are usually free. My 2 cents. Hope it helps

        • Cami

Those are some really good options and this app has truly given me the opportunity to give my husband a pretty awesome Valentine’s Day gift this year! 🤗 Thank you very much for sharing Diana…

      • Diana

Another idea… if your man is into working out, perhaps putting in some protein powder, workout socks, a sweat towel, water bottle, shower shoes, and/or Icy Hot.

        • dbld amber

Wow you’re an amzing wifey. I need to steal all you ideas and this will bring a little spice back it. Also a little risque pic of yourself can be a great idea.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Aww, You are so welcome! I LOVE that idea, Erica! Thanks for sharing with us!

These bring back the best memories of my father. He had a similar one that he used for 30+ years. Kind of want to get one just for that reason :-). I have a vera bradley lunch box now, so this would be quite a contrast, but just might do it.

    • kellyfornia

That’s the first thing I thought of too when I saw this post! I sure do miss my dad and if I bought one of these I would be reminded of him multiple times a day. <3

    • J.H.509

Aww. Same here. My dad used one like this for 35 years…for the same company. Fortunately, we still have him with us. I showed him the post and he ended up purchasing it for my husband..who works in construction. He said to continue the tradition…we’re all girls.. except for my dad and husband. 🙂

      • Kellyfornia

        ♥️♥️

  3. Erica

I do a box for him every year. I usually do some of his favorite candies, energy drinks, TONS of BEEF Jerky, gun stuff (ie bullets or like cleaning gear or something), fishing lures, little tools or gadgets, beard oil/beard brush, cologne, lottery tickets, concert tickets, grill gear, etc etec

  4. Rachel

My hubby had this lunchbox for a few years and LOVED it! It was a bit heavy so got hard to navigate with his backpack and laptop, so not good if you have a long commute that includes a lot of walking. But it is so well made!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh awesome! Thanks for taking a moment to comment, Rachel! Good to know it holds up so well!

  5. babymair

I no this sounds kinda crazy. But,I made mine into a centerpiece. I lost my dad last year , and he would take his fishing with my 2 boys . They would be so happy to see what treats he bought them .We put fake plants for now .This spring we are going to plant herbs in there.

    • Liza (Hip2Save Sidekick)

That sounds like a really special way to honor your dad! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! 🙂

    • J.H.509

Ladies don’t forget wisehubby needs Valentine’s ideas for his wife. I’m drawing a blank. :-\=-O

    • wisehubby

Youre amazing for taking the time to think of someone else(me) and asking others to help me out. The ideas for hibbys were on point and amazing. I want to donthe same for my wife. Clothes and shoes i buy her all the time. Notes and cards are helpful. Ladies what would you want in a box given to you

      • Nubianqueen

Her favorite treats. A gift card for a spa day or couple day. Favorite perfume. Love coupons. Cook her favorite meal.

      • alienna21

Gift certificate for a massage, if you think she’d like that, along with oils/lotions you can use at home together?

        • wisehubby

Thanks i always wanted to get her a massage but shes a bit leery of people touching her naked body. Ive always wanted to do a couple’s massage. Ill try some of your suggestions. I wish i had posted earlier in the day so i may have had more responses.

          • A

Wisehubby – she doesn’t have to be naked for a massage. She can keep her underwear on for example. It is what she is comfortable with. There are also masseuses that work at home and may be able to do the massage at your house.

          • Diana

You can do a beach theme for ladies: flip flops, beach towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, soaps shaped like shells, bath gel that smells like the beach/ocean or coconuts. Make a kabob dinner with chicken or shrimp and pineapple. And pina coladas!!!

          • J.H.509

You can always make a basket full of things that will remind you two of the beginning of your relationship. Such as a old pictures, DVD of a movie you saw on a date, a little trip down memory lane. So she will feel like you still remember the little things

      • Coco

Personally, I like tea, some are more expensive and a treat to get and usually come with 20 in a box so it lasts for a while and everyday it is something special to look forward to. One year for Valentines that was low cost but special, my husband set up an indoor picnic with all of my favorite things for lunch.

    • Diana

Mix of music, lip balms, perfume, small boxes of chocolate, fun T-shirt, house shoes/socks. I like to make a mix of presents… one gift practical, one gift fun, and something she would never buy for herself but would buy for others. Bottle or mini bottle of wine. A bottle of nail polish. Travel neck pillow. A silky pillow case!!!!! Fuzzy or silky bath robe.

Here’s an idea for a guy or girl to do. Pack a picnic lunch in it!!! Bring a blanket. If it’s too cold, the have it inside. Put on some nature sounds or beach sounds (YouTube!!). Bring a single rose. Don’t forget dessert. It can be as easy as a box of chocolate. Bring a pack of playing cards and play a few card games. Don’t forget drinks.

    • A

      That is a cute idea!

  10. Diana

My hubby is into miniature war gaming. I wonder if he could put his minis or paint supplies in it.

  11. Lisa McWow

Wisehubby I know if it were me I personally like things I can use. 2 years ago my husband got me running shoes for V-day, and last year he got me diamond earrings and diamond hoops(I didn’t have any earrings but have my ears pierced). If it were me I love lotions especially at this time of year, fuzzy socks, bath bombs, oils for my skin, slippers and robe I already have but it goes together. You could always do a cute coffee mug with tea or coffee, fuzzy throw blanket, candles are always great and her favorite candy or treat. Hope that helps a little. Also you could get a basket and put all the things in it instead of a box that way she can reuse the basket 🧺
