Through March 3rd, select Starbucks Rewards members may be invited to play the new Starbucks Bonus Star Hopscotch game! Whenever you make a qualifying purchase during certain times and days at a participating Starbucks store, you can earn up to 350 Bonus Stars!

Am I right that for this game there is no way to play without purchasing?
Yes, you have to pay using your Starbucks account.
no free plays in this one. Just an option to ‘skip’ one box if you can’t complete the challenge.
Yeah and this is a pricey challenge. Only worth it if you go anyway and you will fill your squares on a normal basis. I would never spend $50 + hitting all my squares to earn 350 stars, just for kicks. I go enough, and pick up drinks and snacks for coworkers, that I don’t have to work at completing this lol.
I will be skipping the Toasty Two square since I don’t drink lattes(or any other kind of coffee for that matter). Not counting the mystery challenge, I will only spend $20.95 after tax over 6 visits to complete 10 challenges. Once the mystery challenge is revealed on 2/11, I may need to reevaluate my plan.

Wow! Your plan is awesome. I’m over here trying to figure out how to complete 5 of the challenges in the least number of purchases.
That’s correct. Because the reward isn’t given by “chance,” — you complete a task and you’re guaranteed the bonus stars — then the Hopscotch game isn’t considered a sweepstakes/contest, so Starbucks doesn’t have to give you the option to enter without making a purchase.
On the other hand, because Starbucks for Life is based on chance, they have to give free plays.
Keeping in mind that this is only worthwhile if you love Starbucks and typically buy these things anyway….
I think this may be the most efficient and cost-effective method to complete the board if that’s your goal.
This assumes starting today, which happens to be 50% espresso drink day:
Thursday (50% Espresso Day): After 3 PM, make a mobile app purchase in which you buy 1 iced cinnamon shortbread latte, one other latte, one other handcrafted beverage, and a bakery item (cake pop is typically the cheapest): Two For Yum, Coffee With Friends, Toasty Two.
Friday: Make a mobile app purchase before 9 a.m. from a second store: Order on the Way
Saturday: Make a purchase from a third store: On a Roll
Sunday: Make a purchase from a fourth store. Coffee Ranger, Weekender
Monday: Order a breakfast sandwich or sous vide egg bites before 9 AM. After 2 PM, buy any lunch item: All Day, Lunch Break, Monday Funday, Great Morning, Early Riser
Skip: Use this on any square you like or on the secret block that hasn’t yet been revealed.
Full board complete.
Meanwhile, you can also stack this with some of the other ongoing bonus star promos, such as the one to visit 3 days in a row for 30 stars, etc.
My experience last year was that sometimes the board would be a little glitchy, particularly with mobile orders, but a quick e-mail to Customer Service always fixed any issues.

Does anyone know how to redeem starbucks bday reward. Code 571…? I think my cashiee didnt know how to. What do they have to press on the register
Mine says up to 400 Bonus Stars. Not sure if I can complete this challenge since I don’t drink coffee or let says coffee doesn’t like me..lol
I don’t drink coffee either, and I can still likely complete it. I don’t know what your challenges are, but only one of mine specifically mentions a coffee drink.
Look for the cheapest thing on the menu that qualifies. You don’t have to get a drink each time. Babybel cheese, string cheese, bananas, and petite scones work too. You will pay more than what those four items are worth, but they are still cheaper than drinks. Unless the mystery challenge is ridiculously expensive, every item I will be getting is under $4. Most are under $2.

I just realized that the Crème Frappuccino I redeemed stars for yesterday counted. I now have credit toward Order On The Way, On A Roll, and Coffee Ranger.
I was sent to play through my app., however when I pressed it to play it wouldn’t upload. It stated it would only open up in Chrome. How do I get it again so I can try to play?
Did you get the email invitation as well?
If you got the email, click/tap on the link in the email on a device that has Chrome as the default browser. If you don’t have Chrome, download it. Then either: make Chrome the default browser or copy the URL from the email, open Chrome, and paste the URL in the address bar.
I got the invite but have tried 5 times over as many days to sign up (or “activate” my board) and keep getting an error message telling me the site is doing some maintenance. Anyone else having this issue? I’m so frustrated.
