Is there a difference between Factory style and not Factory style? The pics show the interior of factory style isn’t printed . I don’t care abt the print itself but is the quality sub-optimal??
Hi PV! Factory styles are pieces created exclusive for Vera Bradley outlet stores that may have minor differences in appearance. Such as interiors with plain lining as opposed to the printed interiors you may see on other Vera Bradley products. Hope that helps!
Yes, that’s helpful!
Is the quality compromised?
That’s a great question, PV. I honestly can’t give an opinion on that as I’ve never personally ordered any Vera Bradley items myself to compare. However, if you’re not happy with your purchase, you have up to 60 days to return it. You can read more about the return policy over here. Hope that helps!
I buy a lot at the local VB outlet and the quality is on a par with the retail stores.
Thanks. That is good to know. I ended up not ordering yesterday. But now that I know, I won’t miss it next time !
Yes, the quality is definitely not the same…that’s why Factory products are so much cheaper than regular VB merchandise and they will even tell you that at the stores. I have purchased several Factory items from VB and the threads have frayed and become loose even w/ very light usage (I am very careful w/ my bags and this has never happened to any other fabric bags I own). Also, the lining of the Factory bags isn’t quilted like their regular VB bags- it’s this really thin, cheap material that looks flimsy and would be what you expect from Target or Aldo bags. So Factory bags are great for inexpensive gifts perhaps but don’t expect the same quality or durability as you would from VB otherwise.
You are much better off just waiting for a sale at VB and signing up for their coupons- I have been able to combine a birthday 25% off coupon w/ a sale 25% off coupon for huge savings on brand new patterns in the VB store!
I have to respectfully disagree with 50 ShadesofLipstick’s post. I have purchased MANY Vera Bradley items, both at retail stores and online outlet sales. I feel that my purchases depend I feel the quality of the online outlet items are on par with the retail stores. The factory style, in most cases, but not all, do not have the print inside, but similar in quality of material, at least for me. I do go by VB recommendation of cleaning all my purchases. Never a problem. I love my VB purchases;)
No worries 🙂 After all, we’re all entitled to our opinion and to have different expectations from products, depending on the price point. However, I also wash my bags according to the care instructions so it’s definitely not a matter of improper handling. Also my VB bags from the retail stores are always quilted on the inside. To each their own! Just wanted to share my experience.
100% agreed w/ 50ShadesofLipstick. Vera Bradley retail items & outlet items are not the same thing- you always get what you pay for. If the quality were the same b/w outlet and retail items, then obviously they wouldn’t have such a big difference in price. And it’s not even that the outlet carries older/discontinued patterns- many of these patterns are still newer and sold at full price at the VB retail stores. I own both kinds of bags and you can easily tell the difference in manufacturing and quality, esp. if you’re familiar at all with Vera Bradley. Look at how the 2 kinds of bags are stitched, at the straps and buckles, at the materials used, at the thickness of the fabric, etc- it’s very apparent that they are not equal. Not saying that the outlet bags are terrible or anything like that- they are just not the same as the quality that I’ve come to expect from VB and it’s super obvious. Maybe it’s not an issue for some people, but consumers should have an idea of what to expect when buying retail vs. outlet merchandise. Items manufactured for outlets aren’t going to be the same quality, period.
