These bottles are really easy to use, my son has been using them since he was 2. That being said, these bottles have a serious issue with mold. The sprout part cannot be completely disassembled and after a while it gets moldy no matter what I do. I stopped buying them after all 6 of ours had mold. Now we use Thermos sippy cups. Everything comes apart for washing.
Bummer. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, SherryCC.
I agree about the mold thing! We stopped buying them because of this too!
I use a q tip periodically and clean guk.out of the spout so it doesn’t mold. You could also use one of those same size scrubber brushes like for baby bottle nipples.
My kids LOVE these cups and have used for over 3 years with no mold. They come apart enough to clean. You could soak in vinegar water if you’re having that problem.
Oh good! Thanks for the tip, Amanda! I have a few like these and will have to remember that!
they do mold, no matter how well you clean them. Some have clear plastic while others have colored and with the colored ones you cannot see all the mold growing in spots that a qtip cannot reach. Great cup while it lasts but the mold is a bummer.
Oh darn! Sorry to hear about that! Thanks for the honest comment!
These are great for no leaks but unfortunately they mold at the lower part of the clear sippy part. This has been a recurring issue with ours. I try to throw out ours every few months to avoid the issue. It’s unfortunate because these are so expensive to just go in the trash before we anticipate mold to be forming.
Walmart also has cups similar to these for $.98 in-store.
I agree with the mold part. Cleaning is very difficult.
