It doesn’t say “any.” It says “one select item,” as in select items only.

I just spoke with Target Customer Service and it is only on SELECT home items. I told her I expected better from Target.
Agreed. This is really disappointing.
Expected more? It’s a clear cut coupon that says “select items”. If you go through the provided link, it shows exactly what items are included with the promo. If you don’t put “any 1 item”, people complain that it should be 40% off 10 items they are purchasing. There is literally no way to list a coupon more clearly yet people still feel entitled to more.
Exactly. The promo details are plain and clear on the website. I seriously do not understand where this sense of entitlement is coming from.
Actually , the Target email specifically says “Today only: Save 40% on one home Item, including rugs, lighting, home decor and more.”
I, like the person above, also read that as being any home item.
Only H2S said select. Target didn’t specifically state that it was select until you click and go to the site. So I went in and found a rug I liked. Turns out only like 4 small rugs are included. Hardly worth Target advertising rugs in that email LOL

The email isn’t stated clearly. Basically click bait so you have to go to the website to discover the details. Definition of click bait. Target knows what they’re doing…Retailers use it all the time. I often click through emails usually to be disappointed. Hardly ever fails. Rarely.
Why do you expect better? I think it’s a great sale & maybe they are discounting items that aren’t selling as well. Either way, I’m thrilled!
I agree. This is a great promo. It clearly says select items. I don’t understand why some people always feel they “deserve” something. I’m always dealing with customers that don’t take the time to read things carefully and I always have to repeat myself.
wow….why such disrespect and superiority??!! I read and followed links and picked something from the list — the selection said 40% off but it was part of a collection and if you looked REALLY closely (i.e. with a microscope), you might realize that only item applied from the collection despite initially saying the collection would. I spoke with a supervisor who was just as confused– initially trying to manually apply the discount and then, after speaking with several others, realized it was wrong and only 1 item in the collection applied. I don’t feel that I “deserve” anything other than clarity from Target and lack of hostility from members of the Hip 2 Save community….and, seriously….there is NO NEED for you to repeat yourself….your true colors are very clear.
There are always going to be the ones that complain and call customer service!

Me too! The inside doors in my house are ll hollow so my mirror choices are all the cheap, lightweight, ugly ones and that is just a no. This one is pretty! A perfect solution at a reasonable price with in-store pickup too. Target is just 4 miles from here so a big win for me.

Tried adding the Pillowfort teepee, but none of them adjusted when I went to check out, even though it’s part of the promotion.
Only the “Backyard Icons Green” one is included as part of this promo. The other colors are not included. When I added it to the cart using the mobile site, the discount automatically applied for me.

They have raised the prices of formerly marked down items so even with 40% off, your still paying higher than clearance price. I have been watching these items for months. It is a frequent move in retail.

I second this. Some items in my love list have higher price than yesterday. With 40% off, some items even have higher price than the sale price when I added them to the list. Unless you watch it carefully, you might end up buying things more expensive.

I went with the mirror that hangs over the door. It took a lot of browsing to figure out what qualified in all of their advertised groupings. Perfect for my apartment and easy to move. No more standing on the toilet to try and see the full outfit😜
