  1. Dealzgurl

Thanks to Hip2Save, I’ve begun to buy the fresh flowers….they really do last quite a while. I will have to look for the chicken salad. Also, I recently tried their cheese chunk with the pepperoni embedded in it. Oh my goodness. It is so good. I have to literally ration it out to myself, lol.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

That does sound yummy! You’re very welcome!

      • KS

My flowers lasted over two weeks!

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

          SO awesome! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Jen Neff

Thanks for posting this, so fun. I love aldi 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Me too! You’re so welcome! Glad you have enjoyed the list!

  3. Nicole

Also the Benton peanut butter, thin mint and coconut cookies that I think taste better than the Girl Scout cookies.

    • Lori

Ooh the coconut cookies are the best!

      • Linda

No, the chocolate peanut butter ones are the best! I am a mint chocolate fan but got spoiled on the amount of filling on the peanut butter cookies.

    • Alyi

I agree so much!! They are super yummy!! and can be purchased all year long

    • Maria

Plus, you can’t beat the cost – .95¢ for the peanut butter or thin mint. The Samoa ones are a little more. They are all delicious.

  4. Rachel

The funnel cake mixes are great! They taste just like the ones from a carnival. And it doesn’t seems like you get a lot of batter but we were able to make almost 10 large cakes with one mix!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh wow! Thanks for the helpful comment, Rachel! I haven’t grabbed those yet!

  5. Bargain Shopper

I’ll keep an eye out for the funnel cake mix. It’s looks like it’ll be fun to cook with grandkids. I really like their cookies. I didn’t see it on this list but passing along a deal – the other day I noticed really great prices on fresh Parmesan and Asiago cheese cut in pie shapes.

    • DSch

I saw the funnel mix yesterday (right across the aisle from cereals) in the baking section.

      • Bargain Shopper

Thank you DSch for saving me the time to search the store, I’m going to go look for it tomorrow in my local store. Sadly my store must be smaller than a lot of the other locations. There is a good third of what you list that never comes to my store shelves. I think it’s worth the trip for the items I can find.

  6. Susan

I love their red pepper hummus and french toast sticks! The Blinking Owl wine is really good too but it gives me the worst headache and hangover. Can anyone recommend a sweet wine that won’t?

    • Jflowerh29

Same here, geez worst hangover and headache!

      • Jen

I really like Lambrusco wine. It does not give me a headache the next day – and it’s a sweet red wine with just a touch of bubbly, and not as sweet as moscato which is what I usually prefer.

        • Helen

Lambrusco is my favorite. I agree no headache.

        • Susan Muniz

Thanks Jen! I’ll give that one a try. 🙂

    • HQB

usually bad headaches and hangovers from wine indicate high sulfite (aka sulphite) contents in the wine; you can look for low-sulfite or no-added-sulfite wines (there are lists online or your wine store may be able to help you). Because sulfites act as a preservative, you won’t want to store these wines for long – buy them when you want to drink them.

Sweet white wine varieties include moscato, sweet vouvray, ice wines, tokai, sauternes, and chenin blanc.

      • Susan

        Thank you HQB!

  7. Pia

The aldi Irish butter has been discontinued ☹️ Any idea why?

    • Bargain Shopper

      Hi Pia,
I’m guessing but I bet it was a seasonal item for St Patrick’s day. I got salted caramel cream cheese that was discontinued as seasonal.

    • DSch

Do you mean the Kerry butter? That is where I get mine, and oh, boy, if they discontinue that.. uggg.. Walmart does sell it and the other local chain store, but always higher price. I hope you are wrong! 🙂

      • Mirela

Try Costco or Sams club. They have it.

    • Maria

My local Aldi’s always has the Kerry butter. Is it better than regular butter?

      • DSch

Maria, we just switched to Kerry Butter 6 months ago and love it. We can tell a difference. It is pricier (even at Aldi’s), but it is worth it for us.

        • Steph -B

I agree, we do Kerry or organic Costco – just can’t beat the taste! Even my husband said it’s worth it to pay a little more for the organic or Kerry grass feed!

  8. Bargain Shopper

    Hi Pia,
I’m guessing but I bet it was a seasonal item for St Patrick’s day. I got salted caramel cream cheese that was discontinued as seasonal.

  9. Cindy Thomas

    I really like shopping ALDI’S.
I have the chicken salad in my fridge right now.
Their meat department is great. I was a little skeptical at first, but their meat products are really good, especially the center cut workshops. and the four pack hamburger patties.
Orange juice is just as good as the name brand.
And the prices on dairy products are great. The produce is, for the most part, better than the chain stores, and a lot cheaper!
Can you tell I shop there a lot?

    • Cindy Thomas

      Make that Porkchops!

    • Stacie

The only thing I noticed in the meat dept that I didn’t like was the fresh boneless skinless chicken breast contain carrageenan as an ingredient. I’ve been buying my chicken elsewhere now.

  10. Kristy

Good to know thank you! We have a Aldi opening soon in my area and now I’m even more excited for it to open.

    • DSch

Kristy, they are the best. I can’t buy all my groceries there, but with Walmart peeving me off, I’m trying to do more shopping there. Love their dairy, cereal, oh, the cookies (they are just like the Girl Scout version), and the cheese selection. It is amazing the selection of cheeses they have for such a small store.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re welcome, Kristy! That is exciting! Congrats!

  11. DSch

STOP THE PRESS…. I just found this out via a friend and already bought and loved it I might add. It is a seasonal product, only sold at Easter. Mimosa (so in the alcohol section. It is pre-mixed (OJ/wine) and at my store was marked on the shelf as 5.99 but rang up as 8.99. Thankfully, Aldi gave me the difference back. It comes in an orange bottle. Again, at my store, they had them all the way on the bottom shelf (no idea why that was), but again, they were awesome. Hope someone knows what I am talking about. It was delish.

    • Jaime Presley

They just launched pineapple mimosas too!

      • Lisa

My Aldi’s shopping list is growing. I was elated I found the orange… did not even see the pineapple. Thx.

        • Daphne

Pineapple Mimosa is listed in April 3rd’s sales paper!

  12. Aaron

Good list! Their chicken salad is the best. Agree with the reader who suggested the Thin Mints…$.95 a pack and just as good, if not better than Girl Scouts.

I’d add their knockoff of Cinnamon Life cereal (Cinnamon Balance). It’s $2 a box which is more expensive than most of their cereals, but a spot-on imitation.

Also, the Mint Chocolate Protein Bar from their Elevation by Millville line is just about perfect.

  13. Brenda

I have tried the Aldis Hawaiian rolls, definitely not as good as Kings Hawaiian.

  14. Gregg

I wanted to pass this on to other gluten free families. Our Aldi store had gluten angel food cake mixes out on Saturday. It is a seasonal item and we always check for it. It’s sold by the gluten free pancake mix. I think it only comes out once a year. We stocked up for the year as its great to be able to make an easy gluten free angel food cake for birthday’s. They also had gluten free lemon cake and key lime cake mixes. It really is so nice to have a variety of gluten free options.

    • Julie

My store had the seasonal mixes! YAY!
I’m shocked that the angel food mix needs 12 egg whites! Have you made it before? Did you use a carton of egg whites, or separate the yolks out (and then what did you do with the yolks)? Thanks!

      • Jessica c

My teenage son made the GF angel food cake a couple of weeks ago— he used egg whites out of the carton. Unfortunately, the whole cake mix went down the drain because the batter was so runny, it ran out the bottom of the angel food cake pan. I’m sure there was some operator error there, but he made another brand angel food cake after that without a problem.

        • StephB

You should not use egg white in the carton for baking- this was most likely the fail… also your ingredients should be at room temp for optimal volume!

  15. AshE

How’s the mac and cheese? Did you or your child(ren) like it? I have a picky eater. Lol

    • DSch

AshE, it is fine for the price, but really, can anything compare to Kraft? 🙂 It was perfectly fine for us… just know it is not Kraft.

      • AshE

        😉 Right! And thank you!

    • Valerie

My family did a taste test of 4 Mac n cheese box mixes that included Kraft, Annie’s and Wacky Mac and Aldi’s won hands down.

  16. Sandy

The cakes and cinnamon rolls were awesome. The chocolate chip cookies my boys ate and never said a word that they were not like chip ahoy and the price is awesome. Guacamole was great too. I only buy the chicken breasts and have had no issues there

  17. Hafdis

We love to make French toast with the chocolate chip brioche bread!

    • DSch

I am on that one! Thanks for the suggestion.

    • Waverlygirl

What a great idea! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  18. JAY

I love their knockoff of Sugar Free Red Bull. It’s a dead ringer and 1/4 of the price: $2.49 for a 4 pack.

  19. Jodi P

Those ice cream sundae cones REALLY are the best……..my nephews love those kinds, so I’ve bought all the other brands around town, and Aldi’s is BY FAR the best. The ice cream is really thick with great vanilla (or chocolate!) flavor , the layer of chocolate and nuts is nice and thick, and the cones stay nice and crispy. They’re so much better than Nestle, Blue Bunny, Walmart brand, Kroger brand, North Star, and I’m sure there are other brands I’ve tried, lol.

I’ve been VERY happy with ALL of Aldi’s ice creams, gelato, “ben & jerry-ish”, and ice cream treats (but I have not tried the big bucket of vanilla that they have).

  20. Becky

I tried the Winking Owl Wine and did not like it at all. I had to throw it out.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! Thanks for the honest comment, Becky! Sorry to hear you didn’t care for that one!

      • Daphne

I’ve used the WO wines for my wine slushies and it’s perfect. I wasn’t a fan of WO by the glass.

  21. Katie Beckner

Love the avocados and coffee creamer, and of course all the fresh fruit at affordable prices–so happy I finally took the plunge and shop at Aldi every week!

  22. Kristie

I could eat that entire brioche loaf!!!!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      LOL! Me too!

  23. KS

the maple French toast bagels are also SO good. The last time i went wad the first I’ve seen this flavour and they were carbolicious! Not allowing myself to buy them again though;)

  24. browniesmomma

I just had to go gluten free a yr ago. They do have great GF items! Of course GF is more expensive, but I can get items cheaper here. They do taste very good too!

    • browniesmomma

Another thing that I have to recommend is their Super Premium Ice cream! it is in a black container & is the best!! not really many flavors but can always add toppings toppings… Also their turkey hot dogs. We have been eating those for years. They do taste better than the brand names & are much cheaper.

  25. MrsMichelle

I’m obsessed with their multi-grain tortilla chips and, their breakfast sausage patties are the perfect size for my breakfast sandwich maker (which is worth its weight in gold.) Also, their fig newtons are delicious and only 98 cents.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

YUM! I have loved their Fig Newtons too! Thanks for sharing your favorites with us!

  26. Jennifer

I agree, I really like the winking owl moscato and love that you can get Kerry Gold butter! If you have kids or like chicken nuggets, try the dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets in the freezer!

  27. Daphne

I love the Aldi’s cocoa krispies cereal and their baked chips are awesome. Also, Aldi’s refrigerated salsa taste like homemade! My one quibble is that the sizes of the spices have shrunk even though the price has remained the same.

  28. Kristi

Who do I complain to about the extra calories I consume due to these Aldi’s posts?!? Normally I eat one girl scout cookie at a time. Since I’ve been purchasing the Aldi’s brand at $1.35, I now eat half the box in one sitting!!! 😂

  29. Rachel Patrick

My mother in law swears by charles shaw chardonnay from trader Joe’s as the only white wine that does not give her a headache.

  30. Victoria

Another thing I love from Aldi’s is their meatless chicken sandwiches for those who are vegan

  31. Mary OConnor

Love love love the sweet potato chips. Healthier for you also

  32. Rich

Prices vary greatly on various products from store to store I’ve noticed. Clancy’s chips are .89 at an Aldi nearest us and then the one in town the same chips are $1.79! Check and compare products at different Aldis. I shop 4 different stores and only buy certain items at certain stores because of the vast price difference.

    • browniesmomma

You are absolutley right Rich. I have an Aldi 7 miles to the north of me, & one 8 miles to the south. I shop at both depending which town I am in that day. But yes some of the prices, & selections differ just in those two stores also. We just inquired the other day about the selections of some of the GF items at one & not the other. Was told that the newly remodeled stores have more of a bigger selection. Maybe the prices are that way too… They will be remodeling that store this summer & then will have the other items as well.

  33. Lorie Jones

Love the Pineapple Guacamole you have to try it.

  34. Joni

Anyone try the chicken salad? Some are good and some are terrible….Who like this kind?

  35. Debby Jensen

Love Aldi’s. First shop at one in Germany and I am so happy they finally came to my town. I love the Winking Owl wine, the ice cream cones are good as are their french fries and their imported assortment of cheeses. There is never a problem returning an item which I have only done once with no questions asked. It is hard to find items sometimes due to the fact some are seasonal and others are just a one time thing, but there is always a great assortment to chose from

  36. MtotheItotheB

I recently got their Asian Salad Chopped Salad. SO GOOD! It’s very similar to the one from Panera, just w/o chicken. I also made the mistake of buying their Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Almonds and am hooked.

  37. Steph-B

The evelation energy bar; white chocolate macadamia nut … is a hit with my kiddos and hubby too!

  38. Jill Baum

Their chicken salad is the absolute best. Grab two containers when you find it because it goes quickly. (I made the mistake of recommending it too often) My husband loves Aldi brand Cheetos, more cheesy tasting than the name brand.
