Check out the Amazon reviews first. It looks like there may be some topics some would consider inappropriate (necromancy, ouiji boards).

Thank you! I was considering buying it until I saw this. Not something I want my 5 and 8-year old reading.

My brother bought this book for my kids and we also weren’t thrilled that these pages were in here. We actually glued the pages shut so my kids couldn’t read those pages. They enjoy the rest of the book immensely though!

        Wow. Nothing like total censorship.

          T – is it true?
          H – is it helpful?
          I – is it inspiring?
          N – Is it necessary?
          K – is it kind?

My comment was helpful and kind…can you say the same about yours? I’m perfectly fine with my 5 and 8 year old not reading anything about ouiji boards. I didn’t/don’t judge anyone else who feels otherwise, just suggesting a way we were able to enjoy this book without those parts.

Thank you for caring enough about your children’s character to choose not to allow age inappropriate info into their minds.

    • Jes

It is not a full page on the subjects, it is just one fact about each. Maybe I’m too relaxed…I don’t mind my children knowing what things are, I just explain that it is not something we believe or practice.

    Thanks for that info!

I use to keep one of these in my car in the backseat for my Grandchildren. They learned to read better because they enjoyed being curious about this book. Whenever we were waiting for a hockey game to start, or some other venue, they would pull the book out of the back of the drivers seat and read the book. Actually it was Ripleys book and similair books.

How fun! Thanks for sharing, Verline!

Got my 10yo daughter this book when I was posted last time, gave it as a bday gift a few weeks ago. She loves it, she loves sharing facts with us while we ride in the car.
